This couple built an enclosure for their neighbour's coop. After they got the walls up, they placed the rafters and trimmed and attached roof panels. The frame looked sturdy once it was ready.

00:00We are building my neighbor Josh and his family a coop and this is part 9
00:04So we've already finished the coop part now
00:06We're building the enclosure once we got those walls up
00:08We attached hurricane ties to where the rafters are gonna go and then we put the rafters up one by one
00:13They are 10 foot 2 by 4 once we got all of those put up
00:17We had to put the purlins up
00:18Those are the ones that run the opposite direction so that you have something to attach the roof panels to I can tell Josh really
00:25Enjoyed climbing around the top of this so I let him do that part. I'm really not into height
00:29So once we got all of the purlins up we were ready to cut the roof panels
00:33These are 10 corrugated roof panels that we got from they each had to be cut down
00:37So I cut them while Josh attached them
00:39I just used my circular saw but I reversed the blade and it gets a really good cut just make sure you use ear protection
00:45And of course eye protection for some reason
00:48I think we always choose the windiest days to put the roof panels. We are getting really close to being done
00:52We just need to get everything painted and then we will wrap everything in hardware cloth
00:56Just a predator proof make sure nothing can get inside to the chickens
01:00Oh, and of course, we've got to put on the doors
01:02Which there will be several doors one for the big coop door one for the nesting box
01:07which will fold down so you can easily collect the eggs from the backside an automatic coop door is going in and
01:12Just a manual coop door
01:14So those are really small on the inside of the enclosure and one door for the enclosure
01:18So you can walk into and one small chicken door on the back of the enclosure
01:21Hazley is really enjoying her time with the chickens. Okay. Bye
