00:00I'm about to get riled up right now.
00:02I'm a dietitian and these are five supplements you should absolutely not be taking.
00:06Ah, weight loss supplements.
00:08Don't take them.
00:09Best case, they're a diuretic and maybe you lose some water weight, which is not going
00:13to be an answer to sustainable fat loss.
00:15And worst case, they could be damaging to your health.
00:17If your supplement doesn't have these logos, don't buy it.
00:20They signify that the product is safe and the label's actually accurate.
00:24Caffeine is super popular, but caffeine supplements are probably going to give you more of the
00:28negatives like shakiness and anxiety, not lasting energy.
00:32Some can have more than three times the amount of caffeine in an eight ounce cup of coffee.
00:36That's just too much.
00:37And on that note, skip the high dose supplements in general.
00:41Even for things like vitamins and minerals, more is not always better.
00:44In fact, too much can be damaging.
00:46This really does get me fired up, but that's because I prefer to have a food first approach.
00:50It's usually a little bit more affordable.
00:53It's definitely safer and it's easier for me.
00:56But if you do take supplements, definitely avoid these five.
