00:00 "It's about the droid."
00:01 "What about him?"
00:05 "I'll pay for him."
00:07 Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the most surprising
00:12 appearances from big-time celebrities in movies that you probably didn't catch on your first watch.
00:17 "What's the situation?"
00:18 "No, the situation. We've been over this."
00:22 Number 30. Ron Jeremy - Ghostbusters
00:27 Ron Jeremy is one of the most prolific actors in the entertainment industry,
00:31 having starred in over 2,000 films. The overwhelming majority of these just
00:36 happen to be within the adult genre. "Who ordered the large sausage?"
00:40 "We did, but we don't have any money. How can we pay you?"
00:44 However, Jeremy has occasionally dipped his toe in more mainstream, family-friendly
00:50 productions. He briefly appeared in the 1984 classic Ghostbusters, among a crowd observing
00:56 the containment unit explosion at Ghostbusters HQ. "This is the sign!"
01:00 "Yeah, it's a sign, alright. Going out of business."
01:04 It may be easy to miss him because he's not as easily recognizable in the cameo,
01:09 but that distinctive mustache of his remains unmistakable. Thankfully, unlike his more
01:13 renowned roles, Jeremy remained fully clothed throughout this fleeting moment on screen.
01:18 Number 29. Richard Branson - Casino Royale
01:22 Daniel Craig made his first appearance as James Bond in the 2006 film Casino Royale.
01:27 "I knew it was too early to promote you." "Well, I understand double Os have a very
01:32 short life expectancy, so your mistake will be short-lived."
01:37 But it seems he wasn't the only newcomer to the Bond franchise in this movie.
01:41 There was also billionaire Richard Branson. Branson appears in a scene at the Miami airport
01:46 where he is hastily frisked by security after triggering the sensors.
01:49 "Would Mr. Ewen and I have a quiet dessert, please?"
01:56 A diehard fan of the franchise, the eccentric businessman essentially paid for his cameo by
02:01 offering a free plane to the production team at the last minute, helping them save a lot of funds.
02:06 While money might not guarantee happiness, it can certainly land you a role in your favorite movie.
02:12 Number 28. Jeff Bezos - Star Trek Beyond
02:16 Speaking of billionaires who make their way into their favorite film franchises,
02:19 Jeff Bezos fulfilled a lifelong dream by securing a cameo in 2016's Star Trek Beyond.
02:25 "For years, I have been begging Paramount, which is owned by Viacom,
02:33 to let me be in a Star Trek movie." A fan of the franchise since childhood,
02:38 the Amazon founder became close friends with its star William Shatner and named his family
02:43 corporation after one of the characters. However, if you're expecting to see Bezos
02:48 in his usual appearance, you'd be disappointed. In the film, he appears as an alien Starfleet
02:53 official, completely transformed by prosthetic makeup. "Speak normally."
02:57 Despite appearing for just about eight seconds, Bezos ensured he had a speaking
03:03 role in a pivotal scene to avoid ending up on the cutting room floor.
03:06 Number 27. Kenneth Branagh - Avengers Infinity War
03:11 The MCU's Avengers Infinity War boasted a heavily stacked cast, featuring nearly all
03:17 of Marvel's superheroes. Amidst such a crowded lineup, it's easy to miss some of the more
03:22 obscure appearances. Early in the film, a distress signal is heard from an Asgardian
03:27 ship after Thanos attacks Thor and Loki. "This is the Asgardian refugee vessel."
03:32 "We are under assault. I repeat, we are under assault. The engines are dead.
03:41 Life support failing. Requesting aid from any vessel within range."
03:47 This urgent plea sets the stage for the chaos Thanos is about to unleash.
03:51 If the voice delivering the signal sounds familiar, that's because it's none other
03:55 than Kenneth Branagh, who many may remember also directed the first Thor film.
04:00 "Our crew is made of Asgardian families. We have very few soldiers here. This is not a warcraft.
04:07 I repeat, this is not a warcraft." Only the most attentive fans could have picked this up on the
04:12 first watch, so if you did, consider yourself eagle-eyed, or in this case, eared.
04:17 Number 26. Edward Norton - Kingdom of Heaven
04:21 Don't fault yourself if you struggled to identify who portrayed the Leper King in Ridley Scott's
04:27 2005 epic Kingdom of Heaven. "The Saracens say that this disease is God's vengeance against
04:33 the vanity of our kingdom." Surprisingly, Edward Norton, who brought the character to life,
04:38 deliberately opted not to be credited for the role. Norton made this decision in a bid to
04:43 enhance the mystery surrounding the already mysterious character. Throughout his brief
04:47 appearance in the film, Norton wore a mask and put on a very different accent,
04:52 essentially rendering himself unrecognizable. "We must meet him before he reaches Karak.
04:58 I will lead the army. My lord, if you travel, you'll die. Send word to Baileon to protect the
05:07 villagers." While the film received generally mixed reviews, Norton's short performance received
05:12 acclaim for being quote "phenomenal." Number 25. Trevor Noah - Black Panther
05:18 Black Panther featured an historic lineup of actors, including names like the late Chadwick
05:23 Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, and Lupita Nyong'o. "This is your last chance.
05:27 Throw down your weapons, and we can handle this another way."
05:33 But one name also appeared in the credits which may have slipped under many fans' radars - that
05:39 of South African comedian Trevor Noah. Noah, who was the host of The Daily Show at the time,
05:44 took a short break from the desk to lend his voice to GRIO, a Siri-type Wakandan AI system.
05:50 "Remote piloting system activated." In the film, GRIO helps Martin Freeman's
05:56 character navigate a virtual plane during an intense battle scene. What makes this cameo
06:01 particularly special is the fact that the Wakandan language spoken in the film is based on Xhosa,
06:06 Noah's mother tongue. Number 24. Jonas Brothers - Night at the Museum
06:11 Battle of the Smithsonian In this scene from the 2009 Night at the Museum sequel,
06:16 Larry and Amelia find themselves hiding from Napoleon's soldiers, who are on a mission to
06:20 retrieve the tablet of Achman-Ra. "Well, well, Mr. Daly, I quite like the way you're holding me."
06:25 "No, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to…" "Oh, please stop beating your gums,
06:31 Mr. Daly. You haven't been able to take your cheaters off my chassis since the moment we met."
06:35 "I literally didn't understand one word of that."
06:38 Their location is nearly compromised when they encounter three Cupid statues who
06:42 surprise them with a serenade. It might not appear like it at first, but the three statues
06:47 are actually voiced and modeled after the Jonas Brothers. It's a rather obscure cameo in a movie
06:52 brimming with a lot of more prominent ones. If you still have any doubts, look no further than
06:57 their rendition of "Love Bug," an actual song by the real-life pop trio. Number 23. David Beckham -
07:04 The Man from UNCLE Former football star David Beckham and director Guy Ritchie have maintained
07:09 a strong friendship over the years. Beckham even featured in a couple of commercials Ritchie
07:13 directed in the early 2010s. Their collaboration extended into 2015, when Beckham had a minor role
07:20 in Ritchie's action spy film The Man from UNCLE. "He's not your typical American spy. He joined the
07:27 American army at the age of 18 and was sent to Europe. After Hitler's defeat, he remained in
07:36 the occupied territory." But it might be challenging spotting Beckham in the scene. Not only is the
07:42 lighting quite dim, but Beckham also sports a pair of glasses and a slicked-back haircut that makes
07:47 him a lot less conspicuous. We probably would have eventually seen Beckham in a more substantial role,
07:52 but the film's underwhelming box office performance likely put a hold on any sequels.
08:05 Number 22. Bradley Cooper - 10 Cloverfield Lane
08:09 This sci-fi horror flick features a notably small cast, with only four core actors appearing
08:14 physically throughout its runtime. "I see you two are getting along."
08:18 There is, however, a fifth actor credited in the film, whose presence is only felt through his
08:24 voice. In one of the early scenes, when Michelle answers a call from her fiancé Ben, keen viewers
08:29 may have recognized the voice of Bradley Cooper on the other end. "Michelle, please don't hang up."
08:35 "Just talk to me, okay? I can't believe you're just a... Michelle, come back. Please say something."
08:47 Cooper's involvement came after a fruitless search for a voice actor, which prompted the
08:53 film's producer J.J. Abrams to reach out to him and offer the role. His performance easily meets
08:58 the brief, effectively setting a tense and eerie tone right from the start.
09:03 Number 21. Wes Craven - Scream
09:06 Wes Craven, the renowned master of horror, breathed new life into the slasher genre with
09:11 the 1996 film Scream, launching a sprawling multimedia franchise in the process.
09:17 "You never told me your name." "Why do you want to know my name?"
09:20 "Because I want to know who I'm looking at." "What did you say?"
09:25 "I want to know who I'm talking to." "That's not what you said."
09:30 Craven not only directed the first four films in the series, he also made cameo appearances
09:35 in all of them. Particularly noteworthy was his turn as Fred the Janitor in the first movie,
09:40 where he cleverly disguises himself in a long wig and mustache.
09:44 "You call me, huh? Not your friend."
09:47 He also dons attire bearing a striking resemblance to that of his own iconic creation,
09:53 Freddy Krueger, injecting an additional layer of meta-humor to the already brilliant satire.
09:58 20. Michael Caine - Dunkirk
10:01 You can't have a Christopher Nolan movie without Michael Caine, but the English actor flew under
10:05 the radar in Dunkirk. "Check fuel, Fortis 1 and 2."
10:09 While Caine does not appear on screen, Tom Hardy and Jack Loudon do receive a radio message at one
10:14 point from a familiar voice. "And keep an eye on that gauge,
10:17 even when it gets lively. Safe enough to get back."
10:20 It's not easy to hear over the noisy planes, but if you listen closely, you can totally make out
10:24 Caine's signature Cockney accent. Caine's cameo as the Fortis leader was an homage to his role in
10:29 Battle of Britain, a 1969 World War II drama in which he played squadron leader Canfield.
10:35 Almost five decades later, Caine is still fighting the same war.
10:38 "The engine's overheating and so am I. We either stand down or blow up. Which do you want?"
10:44 19. Bill Murray - Dumb and Dumber 2
10:47 "I like what you've done with the place. Nice cappuccino machine."
10:52 In this long-awaited sequel, the Farrelly brothers not only reunited with stars Jim
10:56 Carey and Jeff Daniels, but Bill Murray as well. "Who's the astronaut? Oh, that's my roommate."
11:02 If you missed Murray, that's because he was hidden under a hazmat suit. Returning home for the first
11:07 time in 20 years, Lloyd learns that Harry has been sharing the apartment with a mysterious man named
11:12 Ice Pick. "How's it going, Ice Pick?" "Best day ever. Greatest day of my life, really."
11:17 Calling Walter White to mind, Murray's character makes a living by cooking, ahem,
11:22 rock candy that people and cats go crazy for. "Folks come from all over the city to buy it."
11:27 The movie might be called Dumb and Dumber 2, but this is actually a pretty clever
11:32 Easter egg that only the most attentive moviegoers caught. "Burning my eyes. Must be Cajun style."
11:38 18. Steven Spielberg - The Blues Brothers
11:43 The climax of this comedy classic throws in everything but the kitchen sink. With the police,
11:48 firefighters, and even the military pursuing the Blues Brothers,
11:51 it's easy to miss arguably the most iconic director alive.
11:55 "Can I help you?"
11:57 As the world outside his office erupts in chaos, a Cook County assessor played by Steven Spielberg
12:02 obliviously eats his sandwich. Lunch is interrupted by Jake and Elwood, who pay their taxes just
12:07 before the authorities cuff them. "Five thousand bucks, it's all there, pal."
12:10 Spielberg signs the receipts with the name R.J. Daly, a subtle nod to Chicago Mayor Richard J.
12:15 Daly. "And here is your receipt."
12:18 One year before Blues Brothers, Spielberg notably directed John Belushi in the war comedy 1941.
12:23 "I'd like to eat sauerkraut for the rest of your life."
12:25 By the way, don't be surprised if Dan Aykroyd pops up in a Spielberg picture later on.
12:30 17. Jim Carrey - Liar Liar
12:34 We know what you're thinking. Jim Carrey was the lead in Liar Liar. How could he have a
12:38 cameo in his own star vehicle? "Here she comes to wreck the day!"
12:41 Well, remember the scene where Fletcher Reed gets injured at the airport?
12:46 Look closely as his family shoves their way through a crowd of people.
12:49 In the background, you might recognize a grinning fireman hidden behind a pair of shades.
12:54 "Yeah, he's my husband. Was my husband."
12:56 It is none other than Carrey, standing just a few feet away from Fletcher.
13:01 This is apparently supposed to be Fire Marshal Bill,
13:03 a recurring character Carrey portrayed on In Living Color.
13:06 "Nice to meet you folks. Fire Marshal Bill here."
13:09 "Won't you come in?"
13:10 Hey, if Ace Ventura and Stanley Ipkiss can exist in the same universe, why not Fletcher and Bill?
13:15 16. Garrett Morris - Ant-Man
13:19 When Scott Lang takes his Ant-Man suit for a test drive,
13:21 he lands on the roof of a car parked outside.
13:23 The driver is played by comedian Garrett Morris,
13:31 who was a cast member on Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1980.
13:36 "What the hell?"
13:37 At first, this may seem like a random cameo, but hardcore SNL fans will notice its significance.
13:42 In a sketch entitled "Superhero Party," Morris appeared as Ant-Man,
13:46 along with host Margot Kidder as Lois Lane, Bill Murray as Superman, and various others.
13:50 "What are your superpowers again? You talk to the ants, is that it?"
13:53 "Well, partly, but mainly I shrink myself down to the size of an ant
13:58 while retaining my full human strength."
14:00 While a parody, this was technically the first live-action portrayal of Ant-Man.
14:05 Ant-Man is heckled by The Flash and Hulk,
14:07 who don't think his powers are anything particularly special.
14:10 Ant-Man and his costume have certainly come a long way since then.
14:14 "Oh, best stay out of this guy's way. Oh, every molecule's quivering now."
14:18 15. Nathan Fillion - Guardians of the Galaxy
14:22 "Check out the new meat."
14:24 Nathan Fillion is a regular in director James Gunn's movies.
14:28 He's also best known for playing Malcolm Reynolds,
14:31 one of the most beloved starship captains of all time.
14:34 Naturally, Fillion had to pop up somewhere in Guardians of the Galaxy.
14:38 Even the most die-hard sci-fi fans missed his cameo, though.
14:41 "I'm gonna slather you up in Benavvian jelly. Go to town."
14:46 Upon arriving at the kiln,
14:49 our heroes come face-to-face with numerous monstrous inmates.
14:54 Fillion voices a blue thug that gives Peter Quill an especially hard time.
14:58 Luckily, Groot has Peter's back and the thug's nose.
15:03 14. Kristen Wiig - Her
15:06 "The following are adult female, can't sleep, and want to have some fun."
15:10 This film follows the romance between a man named Theodore and an OS named Samantha.
15:15 Before Theodore falls for the disembodied voice of his dreams,
15:19 he tries to make a connection with a fellow lonely soul.
15:22 An unseen Kristen Wiig voices sexy kitten,
15:25 a woman that can't sleep and wants to have some fun.
15:28 "Hi, I'm here alone and I can't sleep.
15:33 Who's out there to share this bed with me?"
15:36 Initially, she seems like an ideal candidate for a phone sex hookup.
15:39 When she starts talking about dead cats, however, Theodore suddenly loses his sex drive.
15:44 Many people didn't recognize Wiig's voice,
15:47 although they probably should have in retrospect.
15:49 After all, she's one of the few comedians that could pull off this role
15:53 with just the right balance of quirkiness and kinkiness.
15:56 "I'm pulling it, I'm pulling it, the cat's dead.
15:59 It's a dead cat around your neck and I'm pulling it."
16:02 Number 13. Cameron Crowe - Minority Report
16:06 Not even the precogs could have foreseen this cameo.
16:08 Wanted for a crime that hasn't happened yet,
16:10 Chief John Anderton's name and face are soon plastered over every newspaper.
16:15 Anderton is spotted by a passenger sitting across from him on a train.
16:18 Even if you don't recognize the passenger, you might have seen some of his movies,
16:28 which include Almost Famous, Jerry Maguire and Say Anything.
16:31 Cameron Crowe isn't the only famous face on this train,
16:33 as Cameron Diaz can also be seen sitting behind him.
16:36 What's the common thread here?
16:38 One year earlier, director Steven Spielberg made an uncredited cameo as a party guest in Crowe's
16:42 Vanilla Sky, which starred Diaz and Tom Cruise.
16:46 Could it be that this whole movie is just a simulated reality?
16:49 "Happy birthday, baby."
16:50 "Happy birthday!"
16:51 Number 12. Paul Rubens - Batman Returns
16:55 [Screaming]
17:02 Previously working with Tim Burton on Pee-Wee's Big Adventure,
17:05 Rubens' appearance in Batman Returns saw him play a completely different kind of character.
17:10 Perhaps that's why he slipped by unnoticed.
17:13 The usually eccentric Rubens stars as Tucker Cobblepot, a restrained,
17:17 distant man who views his newly born son as an abomination.
17:21 Along with his equally heartless wife, played by fellow Pee-Wee alumnus Diane Salinger,
17:25 Rubens' character dumps young Oswalt into the sewers where a family of penguins awaits.
17:30 Although nobody caught the cameo at first,
17:38 this has since become one of Rubens' most memorable roles.
17:41 Perhaps because of this, Rubens would go on to play Penguin's father again in the TV series Gotham.
17:47 "Side with us. Whispering tales of murder. Dark plots are in motion."
17:52 Number 11. Bruce Campbell - Fargo
17:54 "What?"
17:56 "Well, it's something kind of small, but it might be a big problem."
18:00 Written, directed, and produced by the Coen brothers,
18:02 this Oscar-winning black comedy follows a man who concocts a plan to kidnap his wife for ransom,
18:07 the criminals he hires, and the pregnant police chief on their trail.
18:10 Fargo may feature Francis McDormand, William H. Macy, and Steve Buscemi,
18:14 but did you also know that Ash Williams himself can be spotted on screen? Literally? That's right.
18:20 When Buscemi and Peter Stormata's small-time crooks have Jean Lundegaard tied up and blindfolded,
18:24 Gare watches the tube to pass the time. The show that captures his attention before the
18:28 arrival of his partner Carl happens to be a soap opera with Campbell acting
18:32 in a dramatic scene that leaves Gare momentarily speechless.
18:35 "I'm pregnant."
18:36 "Huh?"
18:38 "I'm pregnant."
18:39 Number 10. Brad Pitt - Deadpool 2
18:44 The Vanisher remains invisible until his days with X-Force come to an abrupt end.
18:49 In a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, Brad Pitt makes a shocking and hilariously
18:53 brief cameo as Vanisher flies into a telephone pole.
18:56 "Vanisher! Maybe the wind can't blow what I can't see."
18:59 It's a brilliant waste of a great actor, and the cameo is only made funnier when you consider that
19:04 Pitt was originally in talks to play Cable before scheduling interfered.
19:08 So instead of playing Cable, he got electrocuted by some cables.
19:14 "Really?"
19:15 Pitt's not the only Ocean's Eleven actor present. An unrecognizable Matt Damon also appears as a
19:20 beer-bellied redneck named Dickie Greenleaf, who has clearly gone through some changes since
19:25 the talented Mr. Ripley. "Toilet paper is a plentifying appetizer, but then
19:30 Huggies natural care wet wipes. That's your main course."
19:35 And the other guy talking to Damon about toilet paper? That's Alan Tudyk.
19:39 "What year is it?" "What kind of dumbass question is that, Dad?"
19:43 "You're it."
19:44 Number 9. Jimmy Buffett - Jurassic World
19:48 Jurassic World is wall-to-wall with product placement, but let's be honest,
19:53 if a Jurassic theme park were real, it would probably have more corporate sponsors than
19:57 dinosaurs. Among the many brand names in the film is Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.
20:02 When the pterosaurs break free from their aviary, the Margaritaville patrons are forced
20:12 to flee for their lives. In the midst of all this anarchy, one man grabs two large
20:16 margarita glasses before taking off. This margarita enthusiast is Jimmy Buffett himself.
20:21 Producer Frank Marshall has snuck Buffett into a few of his films over the years, including Hook.
20:29 "I fancied him showing his shoes for my booty." "Well, I think you can get them at Armani."
20:34 This is easily Buffett's most meta cameo, however. While we never learn the fate of Buffett's
20:39 character, the Margaritaville was the climax's greatest casualty.
20:42 Number 8. Lucy Lawless - Spider-Man
20:51 We all know that Bruce Campbell appeared throughout the original Spider-Man trilogy,
20:54 but he's not the only actor with close ties to director Sam Raimi.
20:57 "What's your name, kid?" "The Human Spider."
21:00 "The Human Spider, that's it? That's the best you got?" "Yeah." "Oh, that sucks."
21:05 As Spider-Man rises up as the hero New York needs, several residents share their thoughts
21:10 on the web-slinger. "This is not a man. My brother saw him building a nest in the
21:14 Lincoln Center fountain." A punk rock woman is turned on by the idea of a guy with eight hands.
21:19 "Guy with eight hands. Sounds hot." Given that she's best known for playing the
21:22 titular character in Xena, Warrior Princess, it likely didn't occur to you that this New Yorker
21:27 is Lucy Lawless. Raimi actually helped develop the Xena TV series, which was co-created by
21:32 Lawless's husband Robert Tappert. "Why wasn't I told?" Of course, we're still waiting for an
21:37 official crossover between Spidey and Xena. That's gotta exist somewhere in the Spider-Verse, right?
21:42 Number 7. Dan Aykroyd - Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
21:47 "Ah, Dr. Jones, I'm R. Webber." Trying to escape from Shanghai,
21:50 Indy and his friends get some help from a British military officer named Art Webber.
21:55 Dan Aykroyd plays Webber, although it likely took audiences multiple viewings to realize this.
22:00 "But there might be a slight inconvenience as you will be riding on a cargo-full of live portrait."
22:06 "Is he kidding?" It's easy to overlook Aykroyd's presence since the camera never zooms in on his
22:11 face. Plus, he puts on a thick English accent and delivers his lines at a rapid pace.
22:17 "Heavens, aren't you Willie Scott, the famous American female vocalist?"
22:20 And Aykroyd isn't the only big name that makes an appearance in this scene.
22:23 Director Steven Spielberg, co-writer George Lucas, associate producer Kathleen Kennedy,
22:28 and executive producer Frank Marshall can all be spotted at the airport. Talk about cameo overload.
22:34 "Oh yeah, Jim!"
22:36 Number 6. George Harrison - Monty Python's Life of Brian
22:42 You may be surprised by the sheer number of times George Harrison has crossed paths with
22:45 the Monty Python crew. Eric Idle directed a music video for Cracker Box Palace,
22:49 and Harrison was a producer for the Lumberjack song.
22:52 "He's a lumberjack and he's all fair, he works all night and he works all day."
22:57 The former Beatle even helped get Monty Python's Life of Brian off the ground,
23:00 forming Handmade Films to finance the picture.
23:03 "Let's go to Stoning." "You can go to a stoning anytime."
23:07 "Oh, come on, Brian!"
23:08 Since this comedy classic probably wouldn't exist without Harrison,
23:11 the least the filmmakers could do was give him a cameo. As Brian makes his way through a crowd,
23:16 Harrison can be seen greeting the so-called messiah.
23:18 Harrison's character is named Mr. Papadopoulos, the mount's owner.
23:22 Although he didn't get much screen time, it's safe to say that Harrison was this production's savior.
23:27 "Hello?" "Janine, it's me." "I know, I'm at work."
23:34 Cate Blanchett took a break from Oscar-winning dramas to make an appearance in this
23:38 laugh-a-minute comedy, not that you'd notice.
23:41 Playing Janine, Nick Angel's ex-girlfriend, she is concealed under a mask and coveralls,
23:47 which not only hides Blanchett, but also means her character blends in with everyone else at the crime scene.
23:53 Angel can't even differentiate who's who, as he attempts to bid his former lover farewell.
23:58 "Nicholas, what do you want?"
24:00 "Well, I have something important to tell you and I didn't want to do it over the phone."
24:04 Since Blanchett is arguably the most accomplished performer in the movie,
24:08 you'd think that the filmmakers would at least show her whole face.
24:12 Yet, they clearly went out of their way to make sure nobody in the audience spotted her.
24:17 This just makes her uncredited cameo all the more hilarious.
24:21 "You just can't switch off, Nicholas.
24:24 And until you find a person you care about more than your job, you never will."
24:29 Number 4. Stephen Colbert - The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug
24:33 "Erdogan is not a name from the Lord of the Rings. I know it sounds like Erdogan could be Aragorn's dad,
24:39 but obviously that's Arathorn. I don't have to explain that to you."
24:42 If you haven't noticed, Stephen Colbert is a pretty big Lord of the Rings fan.
24:47 "There's an important legal distinction between Gollum and Smeagol.
24:50 Smeagol is a perfectly normal Hobbit until he was corrupted by the One Ring
24:53 and became the creature known as Gollum."
24:55 As a matter of fact, Peter Jackson has described him as the biggest Tolkien geek he's ever met.
25:01 In The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug, Jackson finally gave the comedian a chance to visit Middle-Earth.
25:07 Since this franchise has so many characters, it isn't surprising that Colbert got lost in the shuffle.
25:13 However, he can briefly be seen as a Lake-town spy.
25:17 [Music]
25:22 He's only on screen for a few seconds, but at least Colbert can say that he's officially part of Tolkien mythology.
25:28 Colbert returned the favor by letting Smaug crash in on the Colbert Report.
25:33 "We both live in gated communities, and we're both fiscal conservatives who sleep on giant piles of money."
25:39 [Laughter]
25:40 "Quite right. Time to return to the gold standard. Rand Paul 2016!"
25:46 In addition to incorporating celebrity cameos into his films,
25:49 Jackson made his own brief appearance in The Lord of the Rings - The Fellowship of the Ring.
25:53 Number 3 - Glenn Close - Hook
25:56 "You bet against me bringing Pan back here, didn't ya?"
25:59 Hook has a couple of fun cameos, but this one is by far the sneakiest.
26:06 Hiding an Oscar-nominated actress in plain sight is no easy task,
26:10 but director Steven Spielberg pulled it off in this scene.
26:13 "See? I did."
26:15 "Yes, you made a boo-boo."
26:17 "I did."
26:18 "Hmm."
26:18 "I did."
26:19 Captain Hook isn't at all pleased with fellow pirate Gutless, played by an unrecognizable Glenn Close.
26:26 As punishment for doubting him, Hook condemns Gutless to the Boo Box with a couple of scorpions.
26:32 "The Boo Box!"
26:33 [Screaming]
26:38 Although Gutless is supposedly a man,
26:40 it wasn't uncommon for women to disguise themselves as male pirates,
26:44 so perhaps that's the basis behind this cameo.
26:47 It also wouldn't be the last time Close has done drag.
26:51 "You never wear a dress."
26:52 Number 2 - Steve Buscemi - Pulp Fiction
26:55 "Hi, I'm Buddy. What can I get you?"
26:57 John Travolta and Uma Thurman are nothing short of captivating during the Jackrabbit
27:01 Slim scene in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction.
27:03 Since all eyes are on these two, audiences often fail to notice Steve Buscemi as their waiter.
27:09 Dressed as Buddy Holly, Buscemi's character serves up a bloody as hell steak
27:14 and a five dollar shake with no bourbon.
27:16 "How do you want that cooked? Run to a crisper bloody as hell."
27:19 "Bloody as hell and oh yeah, look at this, vanilla coke."
27:22 Buscemi previously played Mr. Pink in Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs,
27:26 which is technically set in the same universe.
27:29 So does this mean that the waiter is actually Mr. Pink hiding from the police?
27:33 If so, he's doing a great job at keeping a low profile.
27:36 "How do you want that shake? Martin and Lewis or Amos and Andon?"
27:39 "Martin and Lewis."

27:54 Number 1. Daniel Craig - Star Wars Episode VII - The Force Awakens
28:00 "You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open."
28:05 "What did you say?"
28:10 Daniel Craig has become iconic for his portrayal of James Bond,
28:14 but that's not the only blockbuster franchise he's taken part in.
28:18 Everyone was stunned to learn that Craig played a stormtrooper in Star Wars The Force Awakens.
28:24 Which stormtrooper you ask?
28:25 Remember the soldier that was put in charge of guarding Rey on Starkiller Base?
28:29 The one that Rey completely mind tricked and forced to remove her restraints,
28:32 leave the cell open and drop his weapon?
28:34 Daniel Craig.
28:35 "I'll tighten those restraints, scavenger scum."
28:39 What makes this cameo especially ingenious is that the stormtrooper is named JB007,
28:45 a clear homage to James Bond and his codename.
28:48 Well played Abrams, well played.
28:51 "I will remove these restraints and leave the cell with the door open."
28:54 What other sneaky celebrity movie cameos have you noticed?
