Blue Ivy To Make Acting Debut Alongside Mom Beyoncé In ‘Mufasa’

00:16Mufasa the Lion King which dropped April 29th. Beyoncé first took on the role of

00:21Nala in the live-action 2019 The Lion King. Now five years later the cowboy

00:26Carter singer is reprising her role and Blue is joining the cast. The Grammy

00:30Award-winning 12-year-old will voice Kiara the daughter of Beyoncé's

00:34character and Donald Glover's Simba. The character first made her appearance and

00:41was the protagonist in the animated Disney film The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride.

00:45Being King Simba and Queen Nala's daughter she is the princess and future

00:50queen of the Pride Lands. Now at this point it's unclear how her character will

00:54be introduced into this film which is a prequel to The Lion King and will serve

00:58as the origin story for Mufasa. The film will mark Blue Ivy's first acting role

01:03but definitely not her first creative project. At just 12 years old Blue Ivy

01:07has charted a hot 100 hit with Brown Skinned Girl alongside her mother. The

01:11music video for the song made her a Grammy winner in 2021.

01:26watching. Blue congratulations you won a Grammy tonight. I'm so proud of you. She

01:32is one of the youngest people ever to receive the accolade and of course she

01:36showed her talent and hard work dancing on stage during the Renaissance tour. Her

01:40journey training to dance despite initial criticism from fans was

01:44documented in her mother's documentary Renaissance a film by Beyonce. Blue Ivy

01:49however has been making waves in pop culture since she was a baby and even

01:53before she was born. Her legendary rapper father Jay-Z featured Blue Ivy's cries at

01:59just two days old in his 2012 hit Glory and of course many will remember the

02:04jaw-dropping moment when Beyonce revealed her pregnancy at the 2011 VMAs.

02:12These just a few of Blue Ivy's achievements many now looking forward to

02:17seeing her performance as Kiara. With an all-star cast and new original music by

02:22Lin-Manuel Miranda the film is sure to be one of the highest anticipated of the

02:26year. Mufasa the Lion King is out in theaters

02:29December 20th.
