00:00 Since I mentioned your recent win at the New York Festival,
00:05 do you still count your wins in one or two hands
00:10 in the international award-giving bodies?
00:13 You're too much.
00:15 Actually, we're so thankful that our documentaries were recognized this year.
00:21 It sounds like lip service,
00:23 but these kinds of documentaries are the product of so many people
00:29 who contribute from the researchers to the producers,
00:34 PA, AP, and others.
00:38 They're not just passing by.
00:41 They have to deal with me.
00:43 They have to live with me.
00:45 Why do you make it sound difficult?
00:48 Because sometimes I can be demanding.
00:51 Also, when I really like the story,
00:55 I really believe that we can go the extra mile to make this a special story.
01:00 So, I mean, they're used to it.
01:03 How hands-on are you when it comes to your documentaries?
01:07 I'm very hands-on.
01:09 I don't know, maybe to a fault sometimes.
01:11 Because from the selection of the stories,
01:14 you know the process.
01:17 Of course, you'll choose a topic.
01:19 So, it's like, it's a lot of back and forth.
01:22 You have to pick a topic that's kind of timely
01:25 or something that you can say is something new.
01:27 Or, you know, hopefully something that's also interesting for the audience.
01:32 Then you'll choose the case studies.
01:35 So, the research stage, the pre-prod, is long.
01:38 And then you decide on the topic.
01:40 You go on field.
01:42 In the field, it's also a great collaboration
01:44 because you can talk to your director about the shots that are needed,
01:49 what's the best framing for the interviews,
01:52 what's the material.
01:54 Then post-prod, oh my, this is where my head hurts most of the time.
01:59 I'm with the team because I'm also very particular with the look
02:04 that I want for a particular story,
02:06 even down to the scoring and also the graphics.
02:09 So, you know, it can be quite tedious.
02:11 But I think at the end of the day, it's also enjoyable.
02:14 And when we get recognized, of course, everything is worth it.
02:17 I can tell them, "It's worth it."
02:21 The reward is also sweet because you were very hands-on from the beginning, right?
02:26 Absolutely.
02:28 At the end of the day, these awards are only important to us
02:33 because it gives us the fuel, the motivation to keep getting better
02:38 because it's kind of a demanding job.
02:42 So, sometimes it can be tiring, it can be very stressful.
02:46 But when you get that kind of recognition,
02:48 you really feel like, "Wow, I want to get another one.
02:52 I want to get better."
