Nationwide job fairs held on Labor Day

00:27 In celebration of the 122nd Labor Day, local government units around Metro Manila held

00:33 In Pasay City, 70 employers offered at least 7,000 job vacancies to Filipinos of all ages,

00:40 including Tatay Manny who was first to queue.

00:42 Pasay City Mayor Imelda Calixto Rubiano reiterates senior citizens and PWDs are encouraged to

00:49 "Our senior citizens are really getting jobs."

00:55 Many job seekers also delighted in the Hired on the Spot or HOTS program.

01:00 Available in the Metro-wide job fairs are one-stop shops which provide free document

01:04 processing of employment requirements including SSS, Pag-ibig, PhilHealth, BIR, DTI and PSA

01:12 Even printing of ID photos and resumes were available free of charge.

01:16 TESDA also touted its free skills training and seminars for first-time and returning

01:22 Meanwhile, in Marikina City, 37 companies offered at least 1,000 job opportunities.

01:33 While in Manila, 9,000 job vacancies were available, most of which customer service

01:38 representatives and warehouse workers' positions needing to be filled out.

01:42 In Quezon City as well, in a conscious pursuit to heighten employment rates, more than 100

01:48 companies were actively hiring for 9,000 work positions.
