00:00Behind me is Amazon's technology lab in Vercelli near Milan where the company is

00:06developing the next generation of robots that will equip its distribution centers

00:11across the world. Amazon has opened the site up for the first time to give us a

00:17glimpse what the future of its parcel distribution business will look like.

00:24The machine you see behind me lifts up a parcel using suction cups and then runs it

00:30over barcode scanner and places it on the conveyor belt.

00:37This machine here detects the addresses of the parcels that pass through it.

00:44It then picks up a label and sticks them onto the parcel.

00:51The robotic tote palletizer takes the totes or boxes, stacks them, binds them together

00:59and places them onto pallets ready for transportation.
