00:00A group of government officials is calling for a minimum wage of P33,000.
00:08We are calling for a national minimum wage based on living wage P33,000 across the bureaucracy.
00:18According to the Confederation for Unity, Recognition and Advancement of Government Employees or COURAGE,
00:24this should be followed by the President's order that the salary of the employees should be based on inflation.
00:31That is equivalent to more than P1,000 per salary and far from the highest minimum wage in the private sector in Metro Manila of P610.
00:42P33,000 per month is also the national minimum wage called by ACT Teacher's Party List.
00:49According to the Department of Budget and Management, the highest minimum wage should be studied and it should not be far from the minimum wage in the private sector.
00:57If this is approved by the Congress, the DBM will find a way to fund it.
01:03The National Wages and Productivity Commission will help in the coming days as a part of the President's order.
