00:00President Joko Widodo said that Indonesia still lacks the strength of a specialist doctor,

00:10which currently has less than 29,000 people.

00:14The President said that when he inaugurated the Specialist Doctor Education Program

00:18based at the Main Hospital of Education Penyelengkara in Jakarta on Monday, May 6.

00:24The President said that currently Indonesia is only able to have as many as 2,700 specialist doctors per year.

00:32In addition, 59% of specialist doctors are also still focused on Java Island.

00:38Not only that, the ratio of the number of doctors and residents in Indonesia is also still small,

00:43only 0.47% of 1,000 residents,

00:47placing Indonesia in the 147th place in the world in terms of the ratio of the number of doctors.

00:54As mentioned by the Minister of Health, there are 24 medical faculties and 420 hospitals.

01:06Therefore, these two machines must be run together

01:11to immediately produce as many specialist doctors as possible

01:20with international standards.

01:24Joko Widodo added that the role of a specialist doctor is very vital,

01:28especially for the health problems of Indonesian people.

01:31Because according to the President,

01:33a population of 68% in 2030 will not survive if the health of its people is not well.
