Law enforcement on Tuesday morning conducted searches in the Brussels offices of Maximilian Krah, the far-right MEP whose assistant has been arrested for allegedly spying for China.

00:47He denies any wrongdoing and hasn't been charged with any offences.
00:52He also said he would dismiss his assistant, who remains in custody, pending a possible
00:57indictment.
00:58The case has cast an unflattering light on the far-right German party, which was already
01:03facing criticism for its so-called Russia-friendly positions.
01:08It's not clear yet how much of an impact the Chinagate probe will have on the party in
01:12the June elections.
01:14A recent Euronews poll showed the AFD's predicted vote share has been growing.
