During a press conference last week, Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) spoke against the violent rioting on college campuses.

00:00Well, good morning.
00:02Thank you, Senator Cotton, for organizing this important discussion on a very disturbing issue.
00:10What we're seeing on college campuses is total chaos, and
00:15we all know that universities have an obligation
00:19to provide every single one of their students a safe learning environment.
00:25That's not happening.
00:27We saw it again on the news last night.
00:30These are violent protests.
00:34This is occupying university buildings.
00:38This is breaking the law.
00:42And then you add in the vileness of looking at other students
00:50and making disgusting anti-Semitic statements to those students,
00:56not allowing them to participate
01:01on their own campus in their educational endeavors.
01:07This is beyond the pale, and I think many of us recognize that.
01:14Not many of us are speaking up, and we certainly don't hear it from most of the elected officials.
01:21We certainly don't hear people speaking up on university campuses.
01:27We certainly don't see any kind of strong,
01:31positive action by university officials.
01:36Instead, we see chaos, we see vileness, we see hate, we see growing division.
01:44But there's one group, well there's really a couple groups, that are supportive of this.
01:52Hamas is a terrorist organization.
01:56They kill babies, they kill old people.
02:00They still have Americans held as hostages in Gaza.
02:06Report that, report that.
02:10And now we see these actions on campus, which Hamas supports.
02:17They're endorsing these protests.
02:22We see the supreme leader, Alatola Khomeini.
02:30He's publicly applauded the growing number of protests,
02:36the growing number of encampments that have sprung up on college campuses.
02:41He celebrates the flying of Hezbollah's flag in the streets in the United States.
02:49Let's be clear, do we see Iran or
02:53Hamas supporting protests in their jurisdiction?
03:03No, we don't see them supporting it.
03:06In fact, we see them cracking down on any kind of protest, any kind of protest.
03:13And they have been criticized by the Human Rights Watch for those actions.
03:21So let's understand what's happening here in the United States.
03:26What's happening is a growing anti-Semitism.
03:31What's happening is chaos on college campuses,
03:36not free speech, but criminal activity and violence.
03:41It's time that we demand that students,
03:48all students, are protected in this country, and that they have their rights protected as well.
