00:00Heartstopper, you're in Heartstopper. How did that come about?
00:05Well, like so many people, I watched the first series and I just thought it was one of the biggest, most beautiful gifts to so many people.
00:13And I wish I'd had that growing up. So I had a mutual friend who knew Patrick, who's the producer, and I just said if there's anything I could do to help and be a part of that story.
00:26How many days did you shoot?
00:27I wouldn't be able to say. I wouldn't be able to say. I tell you what I would say is that I saw Joe Locke in Sweeney Todd on his last performance.
00:34Close, last night, right?
00:35I mean, it was electric. But yeah, it's just, you know, it's something that really has changed the way that people can grow and communicate around who they are.
00:46When you see these young people, to me it's almost surreal. I cry.
00:53Erose and sort of mourn the years that you didn't have.
00:57I go back to my nine-year-old self. I go to my inner child and I say I'm not going to get in so deep, but I'm going to treat you the way you should have been treated. And Heartstopper helps.
01:10Well, it gives that and it doesn't just give, you know, it's not just for a community, it's for every person who is a member of a family who has a member of the LGBTQ plus community and so it helps all of us.
01:20What does it feel like for you when you hear from a young fan who says thank you?
01:24Yeah, I mean, it means the world. Yeah. And it's, you know, you're not really aware of, but when you see that and you go.
01:31When are we going to see you on Broadway next in New York?
01:34I'm not sure. I'm not sure. There's no plans.
01:39OK, what show would you love to do? I know you said no, because I know you said you want to do the dark version of the Zack Snyder. You told me the Zack Snyder.
01:49No, no, no. Bugsy Malone.
01:52What do you want to do on Broadway? What's the Broadway show that you would drop everything for?
01:56Too many. It's too many. Brilliant. I wouldn't want to say.
