00:00Jason and Travis Kelce are two of the most adored siblings in the world.
00:04Their mom Donna talks to Us Weekly about raising the down-to-earth
00:08sports legends in this week's cover story.
00:11Months after Travis won his third Super Bowl ring and Jason announced his
00:15official retirement after 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles,
00:19Kelcemania is still in full effect and no one is more proud than their mom.
00:23In signature Kelce fashion, she refuses to take too much credit for raising
00:27two of the most beloved and grounded sports figures in recent history
00:31alongside their dad Ed Kelce, whom she divorced in 2008.
00:34Here is what she recently told us.
00:36I think that they had phenomenal coaches, fantastic teachers,
00:42great support, families that were around us because we traveled so much,
00:47baseball, football, really nice individuals that are still friends to this day for me.
00:55And I think it was a menagerie of all those individuals with all those great qualities
01:03that rubbed off on them through all those years.
01:06And I'm just very, very happy that they got those opportunities
01:11and they turned into the men that they are.
01:14Now Donna says above all else, she and Ed raised their sons to be kind,
01:19telling us, I just wanted to make sure that they treated everyone the same.
01:23I said, I don't care if they're the individuals who are cleaning the toilets
01:27or they're the CEO of organizations.
01:30It's basically, treat everybody with respect like you would want to be treated.
01:34And she approves of Travis' nine-month romance with Taylor Swift,
01:38telling us that she thinks Taylor's new album, The Tortured Poets Department,
01:42is her best one.
01:44She also has a great bond with Kylie Kelce, telling us,
01:47we're very similar in our likes and dislikes and how we feel about the world.
01:51And the parenting advice she now gives Jason is the same philosophy she lived by
01:56when he and Travis were kids.
01:58Let your children choose what they love to do.
02:01Don't try to steer them into something.
02:03Give them an opportunity to get involved in as much as you possibly can
02:07and let them decide.
02:09They will be good at whatever they love to do.
02:12It's just the way it is.
02:14If they love to do something, they will do it over and over and over again
02:17and that's the best thing that you can do is repetition and keep doing things.
