00:00 And good news, the Philippine economy is growing faster in the first three months of 2024 compared to the last three months of 2023.

00:31 Some people are working in offices, while in the past, they were just at home.

00:34 Even the one selling clothes, Liza, felt the increase in her business compared to the past years.

00:41 It's getting stronger and stronger.

00:43 After the pandemic, most people have jobs and they can buy things.

00:49 Businesses like this are among the sectors that helped the country's economy grow in the first half of the year.

00:56 Services recorded the highest contribution of 4.2 percentage points.

01:04 Accommodation and food service activities recorded the highest growth of 13.9% in the first quarter of 2024.

01:16 This is followed by financial and insurance activities that increased by 10%.

01:20 GDP growth rate was 5.7% in the first three months of 2024.

01:30 It's higher than the last three months of 2023.

01:34 But if we compare the economic growth in the same period last year, it's getting slower.
