00:03 which could be called the "Big One".

00:06 To prepare for it, a simulation was shown by the Philippine Red Cross.

00:10 And that is what Ian Cruz is aiming for.

00:13 Through a simulation, the Philippine Red Cross showed the scenario

00:23 if the "Big One" hits the West Valley Fault in Marikina.

00:29 Magnitude 7.2 earthquake hit Metro Manila.

00:32 And in this scenario, the casualties are in the mall.

00:35 That's why the victims are on each side, being evacuated by the Red Cross.

00:40 The injured were taken to the triage.

00:46 There, they were given first aid.

00:51 In the triage, they were also informed about the priority to be taken to the hospital.

00:58 The firefighters also responded because of the strong earthquake.

01:05 While all this was happening,

01:07 members of the various chapters of the Red Cross were watching

01:11 as they learned what the Emergency Response Unit was doing.

01:15 I think nobody can ever be ready and that is why so much preparation is needed.

01:21 Because no matter what we prepare for, it will always be slightly different.

01:25 So really a lot of preparation is always needed.

01:28 The simulation is part of the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day 2024.

01:35 According to the Red Cross, not only should the preparation be quick,

01:39 but also the scenario of the war.

01:43 We're also preparing for war.

01:45 In case we have a problem with Taiwan, we're preparing for first aid.

01:52 We're teaching them wartime first aid.
