Our reporter, Olivia Preston, went to Voyager Flight Simulation at Luton airport to have a go at flying a Boeing 737 plane. The state-of-the-art technology works seamlessly and felt like a real plane.

00:00It's not every day you get to do a barrel roll in a plane over Lake Geneva, but last
00:24week I got to do just that when I tried out a new flight simulator at Luton airport.
00:29A short walk from the terminal, my friend and I met with Howard Atkins, the co-founder
00:33of Voyager Flight Simulator, for an unforgettable experience.
00:38They have a Robinson R22 helicopter simulation and one for a Boeing 737 plane.
00:45We decided to have a go flying the jet and had a great time doing it.
00:50We sat down and decided our flight plans and Howard talked us through the controls.
00:54Before I knew it, I was flying over Lake Geneva, taking in the mountain views.
01:04Magenta colour is a target, so we've got a target of 5,000 feet, our actual altitude
01:19is that.
01:20We've got a target of 250, when we're within 1,000 feet of the target, you get that noise.
01:28While Johnny flew over London and then landed at one of the world's most difficult runways
01:33in Hong Kong.
01:34So we're just going back up to the north, and what we're going to do is we're going
01:47to come back this way and then we'll do a last minute hop.
02:02It was easy to forget that this was all just screens on a computer, as it felt so realistic.
02:08From the beeping and the rumble of the engine, the simulation and 4K screens were seamless.
02:17I'd recommend this experience to anyone who's interested in having a go at flying, but who
02:21wants to do it in a much safer way than actually take into the skies.
