Typically, when a show comes to an end these days it will close on a cliffhanger. Whether it's the announcement of higher stakes or a surprise twist, it’s commonplace for a series to end one season by setting up another. However, that’s not the case for the Cobra Kai’s creators -- Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald -- show Obliterated. This tipsy Las Vegas-based action series actually comes to a complete end in its finale. So, when I spoke to the three aforementioned co-creators of the action-comedy I had to ask about their plans for Season 2.

00:00 That goes against every instinct we usually have with our writing,
00:04 where we are used to setting up franchises and sequels
00:07 and the next episode and the next season.
00:09 We wanted this to feel more akin to a Die Hard,
00:13 where you then have a Die Hard 2 and a Die Hard 3
00:17 in a different location with different stakes,
00:19 but similar suspense.
00:21 And that's how we looked at the series from the beginning,
00:23 was to have these missions that the first one, obviously,
00:27 is a crazy mission gone wrong in Vegas,
00:31 but it is very closed-ended.
00:34 That's not to say there can't be some open-ended threads to pull going forward,
00:37 but we want it to feel more like a successive season
00:40 could be that next sequel to that season versus a direct pickup.
00:45 We want all the party cities in the world to vie
00:48 for the next setting for Obliterated.
00:51 That's something from the very beginning we thought,
00:54 "Oh, wouldn't it be great to, like, every season,
00:56 "a different kind of fun party city with big action?"
01:00 And that's the hope.
01:02 Yeah, the goal is for these cities to be courting us afterwards.
01:04 So we're hoping that a lot of people watch the show.
01:06 Please watch the show so that we get calls from each city.
01:08 It's kind of like somebody feed Phil,
01:10 except somebody fly these three guys around the world to pitch your city.
01:14 Ibiza should be, like, sending first-class tickets for us,
01:17 being like, "Come on, check out what we have to offer here."
