00:00So Rachel and I touched base at the start of last year, my father had actually passed

00:05away and I'd asked for a handout towards the public for his service and Rachel from Just

00:10Cats had actually put a hand up and offered to help with some memorabilia stuff towards

00:15the funeral and stuff like that.

00:16So I said to her, look if there's any way I can repay the favour in the future, whether

00:20it be a mural, some sort of artwork or a canvas, I'd love to do that.

00:24So I had to give back in that sense and it's just come around to that time where I could

00:28give back to Just Cats, give back and do a beautiful portrait of Thistle.

00:32She was stray on a farm, she was shot in the face and then she came into the care of Just

00:42Cats and she had lots of reconstructive surgery and now she's finding fit.

00:49She's amazing, she comes in, checks on all the animals, comes into the vet clinic, she

00:55harasses the dogs here, she's just, yeah, she's awesome.

01:00Corrugation can always be a challenge and if you was actually to lay out that corrugation,

01:06the fence would be nearly double the length in size so you've got to account for those

01:10ribs on the corrugation and work on each side of it and then paint straight up the middle

01:15of it.

01:16So you have to nearly paint in three different angles to create what you see behind me.

01:20So I think I worked it out to be between 40 to 45 hours in total.

01:25That was coming up here and undercoating the fence from the green ugly colour that you've

01:29seen up until the timber wood look and then I went and got our ply board and stuff like

01:36that ready for the cat portrait at home.

01:40It's an action packed year and I'm just so thankful, so thankful for the opportunity

01:45to paint and be able to do this as a living.

01:48It's sort of speechless.
