Je n'ai pas la prétention d'arriver à la virtuosité des accordéonistes Français sur l'interprétation des classiques du musette mais je crois que le phrasé et l'esprit sont présents dans mon interprétation. Ce qui est absent, ce sont les "flonflons" que les Français et spécialistes du genre musette ajoutent en plus des notes qui composent la mélodie proprement dite. Ces "flonflons" sont improvisés et spontannément ajoutés au texte original de la pièce.
Comme excuse, voici une explication :
Ce n'est pas évident d'interpréter un classique du musette parisien à l'accordéon à clavier piano. Le musette parisien est un style composé avec et pour l'accordéon chromatique, c'est à dire l'accordéon à touches boutons. Un bouton prend moins d'espace qu'une touche piano et donc, sur un accordéon chromatique on couvre beaucoup plus de notes dans l'espace d'une main que sur un accordéon piano. I know that my interpretation of this classic from the parisian musette accordion repertoire is not as "hot" as those from the French musette accordion specialists but I think the "spirit" is there. What is missing in my interpretation are the ornaments that they call "flonflons". The French use a lot of ornaments between the original music and this is what makes the musette accordion style so easy to identify on the spot and right away.
Here is an explanation of the difficulties:
The parisian musette accordion style was created with and for the chromatic accordion. The chromatic accordion is made out of only buttons on the right hand and a button takes less space than a key on the piano keyboard. So within a hand span, the chromatic player reaches a lot more notes than the piano accordion player. Also, the notes are kept closer together with buttons so better velocity is acheived.
