00:00:10 People, when we all started at school, they would laugh at us.
00:00:22 They would say, why do you sit at home and
00:00:24 talk into a microphone while you play games?
00:00:26 That's so weird.
00:00:27 And to now, where you say, I'm a YouTuber, I'm making videos,
00:00:29 people are, that's so cool.
00:00:31 >> If you told me ten years ago that we're gonna be in this position,
00:00:34 I would have laughed.
00:00:35 Ten years ago, I was just this kid in my bedroom with a dream, thinking,
00:00:39 it'd be cool to just make a few videos online and see where it gets me.
00:00:43 >> Hey guys, and welcome to the Sidemen channel.
00:00:49 >> The Sidemen are a group of YouTubers that are just smashing it right now.
00:00:53 >> Sidemen pioneered the idea of a YouTube group.
00:00:58 >> I don't think there's anyone doing it bigger or better than them.
00:01:01 >> They get 300 million plus views every single month.
00:01:04 They get over a billion impressions every month across their content.
00:01:07 244 million followers, and that is huge.
00:01:10 >> It goes to show how powerful a group can be.
00:01:13 [MUSIC]
00:01:28 >> You can't plan relatability.
00:01:30 It's a group of friends organically having fun on camera.
00:01:34 >> Here we go.
00:01:36 >> Something that you can't fake.
00:01:38 >> You have this group of seven young men.
00:01:40 They all have such distinct personalities.
00:01:42 When they all come together, it's just this amazing magic.
00:01:44 [MUSIC]
00:01:48 >> Say it again.
00:01:49 [MUSIC]
00:01:51 >> We've had experts come along, and
00:01:53 the one resounding thing that he always says, everything we do shouldn't work.
00:01:58 It shouldn't work, but it does.
00:01:59 >> The highest earning video is $587,000.
00:02:04 It makes sense.
00:02:05 It is on 92 million views.
00:02:07 >> It's your boy KSI.
00:02:10 >> Make some noise for the Sidemen.
00:02:12 >> The fact that KSI is blown up is really helpful for the Sidemen.
00:02:16 >> Thank you for having me.
00:02:18 >> Ultimately, it's a great marketing tool.
00:02:20 >> KSI.
00:02:23 >> A lot of people want mainstream acceptance, and
00:02:25 they want acceptance by Hollywood.
00:02:27 But who the hell cares?
00:02:29 If you're a YouTuber and you're getting 20, 30 million views a video,
00:02:32 you're getting more views than the last ten movies to come out combined.
00:02:35 Who the fuck cares about Hollywood things?
00:02:37 >> See you all.
00:02:39 >> For fuck's sake.
00:02:41 >> Everyone recognizes that people are going up, watching channels on YouTube.
00:02:44 They're not watching the TV screens anymore.
00:02:47 >> Behavior changed because technology changed, and
00:02:49 kids are the first ones who adapt.
00:02:52 >> Do you think that the Sidemen Sundays would be as popular if they were on TV?
00:02:55 >> No.
00:02:56 >> No. >> TV's dead.
00:02:57 >> [LAUGH]
00:02:59 >> An online creator is able to give you as
00:03:01 much or as little of themselves as they want, and it's not filtered.
00:03:05 And that is a level of engagement that I don't think has ever existed before.
00:03:08 >> I've literally been running myself into the ground till like four or five.
00:03:12 And I'm like, I do not feel okay.
00:03:14 >> What the Sidemen have is so much lore.
00:03:17 We've got ten years worth of experiences, emotional ups and downs.
00:03:22 Where they're falling out, and they're getting on as well.
00:03:24 >> Bro, go home, I'd rather get in the cabin and fuck off, bro.
00:03:26 >> Cut cameras.
00:03:27 >> All the dynamics in the group are shifting.
00:03:29 >> I am no longer with the Sidemen.
00:03:32 >> But again, it's still content.
00:03:34 >> [APPLAUSE]
00:03:36 >> Bro, what is this?
00:03:37 >> It's a bit mad with fans, there's just places that we just can't go.
00:03:40 >> [APPLAUSE]
00:03:41 >> Kind of been swarmed and
00:03:43 locked in a little bit.
00:03:45 >> They're gonna hate me for saying this, but
00:03:47 it's like the one direction of YouTube.
00:03:49 >> Yes, you might watch my videos, but no, you're not invited to my house.
00:03:52 >> We had some kids run in and kind of interrupt us mid-filming.
00:03:55 >> [APPLAUSE]
00:04:01 >> I don't know how much more mental they
00:04:02 can get, and I don't wanna find out, to be honest with you.
00:04:04 [MUSIC]
00:04:14 [SOUND]
00:04:24 >> Production, bro.
00:04:39 Jeez.
00:04:40 >> How you doing, man?
00:04:41 >> I'm good, man.
00:04:42 Get me back.
00:04:44 >> What have you been up to since- >> What have I been up to, bro?
00:04:46 I've been, well, I went and stayed at Shells for a little bit, for about nine days.
00:04:53 That was quite nice.
00:04:54 And now I'm out here, side-bent, and we got a crazy shoot.
00:04:59 Takeshi's Castle style shoot, and I've seen a few of the sets, looks mental.
00:05:06 >> All right, my God, my God, bro.
00:05:11 Look at this set.
00:05:12 It looks so much better in person.
00:05:15 Bro, our production, we keep going up.
00:05:19 >> Come on.
00:05:20 >> How you doing?
00:05:20 >> You all right?
00:05:21 Welcome on set.
00:05:22 >> I hope you- >> I was a little bit away.
00:05:24 >> Can I play in the charity match?
00:05:25 >> No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:05:27 >> No, no, I've been trying, I've been trying.
00:05:29 Thanks, man.
00:05:30 >> Jeez, this looks incredible.
00:05:32 >> Yeah, nice.
00:05:33 >> It looks sick.
00:05:34 This looks very sick.
00:05:38 >> Lovely stuff, mates.
00:05:41 >> This is the green.
00:05:42 >> This is a bit bougie, isn't it?
00:05:44 >> Yeah.
00:05:45 >> We leveled up a little bit.
00:05:46 >> Me, Vik and Tobu are together on this one.
00:05:48 The collaborative effort.
00:05:50 It's our most expensive and largest video ever.
00:05:52 Not too bad, it looks pretty good.
00:05:53 >> I don't agree with what he's saying.
00:05:55 >> Oh.
00:05:57 >> Well, nice to meet you.
00:05:59 >> Nice to meet you too.
00:05:59 What are we filming for?
00:06:01 >> This is our top track.
00:06:03 >> Oh, really?
00:06:03 >> We've always had our eye on Takeshi's Castle for the longest time.
00:06:07 We grew up watching it as a game show and this was the most fun thing that we could land on
00:06:12 that would kind of match what Mr. Beast does and what Sidemen is.
00:06:16 So hopefully it all works out.
00:06:17 >> Well, thanks for the love story, Vik.
00:06:19 I appreciate it.
00:06:19 >> We're making love for a video.
00:06:23 >> My honest opinion.
00:06:25 >> Go on.
00:06:26 >> I wouldn't have chosen this one.
00:06:27 >> Fair.
00:06:29 >> Well, it was a balance between what can we build without it costing another 100 grand
00:06:33 and what will be entertaining to watch.
00:06:36 >> To be fair, this actually cost a lot.
00:06:37 This floor costs like 50 grand.
00:06:39 >> What?
00:06:39 >> For this?
00:06:41 >> It's all printed.
00:06:42 >> I know it's printed but I'm not going to print this for half the price.
00:06:46 >> Okay.
00:06:46 >> You can do that.
00:06:47 >> 20 grand.
00:06:48 >> He would have come in and hand drawn it.
00:06:49 >> You can do that next time.
00:06:50 >> I bloody well will.
00:06:51 >> 50 grand.
00:06:52 >> Something like that.
00:06:53 Forgive me if I'm wrong.
00:06:54 >> I can see the scenes.
00:06:56 >> TV.
00:06:56 It's not even lined up.
00:06:58 >> Okay, guys.
00:07:01 All cameras rolling, please.
00:07:03 >> Three, two, one, go.
00:07:09 [NOISE]
00:07:11 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:07:21 >> What's up?
00:07:29 Yes, now.
00:07:30 >> Is this?
00:07:31 >> Round two.
00:07:31 >> We're doing, we're doing.
00:07:33 >> Sorry.
00:07:34 >> No, it's all right.
00:07:34 >> I just wanted to cut him off.
00:07:36 >> What was your question?
00:07:37 What did you ask?
00:07:38 >> I was going to ask, is this how it normally goes or is the flow usually better for you guys?
00:07:41 >> Oh, no.
00:07:43 No, this is always a fucking.
00:07:44 >> Okay, good.
00:07:45 >> It's always a shit.
00:07:45 >> No, no.
00:07:47 >> Woo!
00:07:48 >> Go, Sidemen.
00:07:50 >> When we started Sidemen Sundays, they were pretty much always in our house and there
00:07:56 may have not even been a cameraman.
00:07:58 Now, we have productions with tons of staff on, a whole set's being built.
00:08:04 There's green rooms, there's catering, there's all sorts going on.
00:08:10 >> You want one, son?
00:08:11 >> It's a bit cold.
00:08:14 [APPLAUSE]
00:08:17 So now it feels like it's a fully fledged production, where before it was kids of cameras.
00:08:22 [MUSIC]
00:08:30 >> Toby 8, take 2.
00:08:31 >> See, that's so surreal.
00:08:33 But I used to fake that as a kid, like emulate what I see on TV and now it's happening.
00:08:38 Mama made it.
00:08:41 [MUSIC]
00:08:46 >> The core Sidemen members is me and Toby went to school together and then you have
00:08:51 JJ and Simon went to school together.
00:08:53 Me and JJ were friends through YouTube.
00:08:55 Funnily enough, I was reeling KSI at one point.
00:08:58 >> Today, I've got something a little bit different for you.
00:09:01 We're doing a set up video for the first time ever.
00:09:04 >> Josh was one of the first OG YouTubers.
00:09:08 He was getting crazy views and yeah, he was seen as that guy.
00:09:11 He was the person I was looking up to.
00:09:13 I was like, whoa, it's Josh, like ZerkaaHD.
00:09:16 Hey, why is he taking that down?
00:09:18 No, no, no.
00:09:21 Me and Josh used to play FIFA together.
00:09:22 He was like top 200 in the world.
00:09:24 The numbers were astronomical for that time.
00:09:28 100,000 people watching your stuff.
00:09:31 It was mind blowing.
00:09:32 I heard of YouTube so late and it was because of JJ.
00:09:36 Word kind of got around that he was posting videos, but no one could really believe it
00:09:42 because at school he was this very quiet, shy, reserved guy.
00:09:47 And then you go on YouTube, he's there going like, oh my God.
00:09:52 It was just surreal to see.
00:09:54 >> Grade five, mother fucker.
00:09:55 >> I met Simon through school.
00:10:01 In year seven, we hated each other.
00:10:04 We would always be fighting.
00:10:05 Then for some reason in year eight onwards, we just were cool.
00:10:11 We just forgot about everything and we were just blessed.
00:10:13 Ethan comes into that story, it must be like 2012.
00:10:18 And on my birthday, I was watching Twitch streams and he was streaming FIFA.
00:10:23 And I was enjoying it.
00:10:25 I could tell that, oh, he's like a London lad.
00:10:26 It was good vibes, good fun.
00:10:30 And he's a funny character.
00:10:31 I got on with him well very quickly.
00:10:33 There's a lot of like common interests we had.
00:10:35 People didn't care about how many goals we scored in FIFA.
00:10:38 They cared about the commentary and the fun and the jokes.
00:10:41 >> One night, something was wrong with YouTube.
00:10:49 And when things go wrong, me and Vic would always talk about them.
00:10:51 But at the time, I was in another Skype call with the other boys.
00:10:55 And we were chatting about it.
00:10:56 And then Vic was chatting to me about it personally, like via text.
00:10:59 So I was like, Vic's coming to call.
00:11:01 >> It's bizarre when you think you can pinpoint individual sentences
00:11:05 that changed the course of the next 10 years of all of our lives.
00:11:09 >> Harry joined the Sidemen because he was blowing up crazily.
00:11:15 >> He was a superstar before the Sidemen.
00:11:23 He was the young FIFA guy that made his own cover.
00:11:25 >> Oh, my fucking...
00:11:27 >> What the fuck?
00:11:29 >> I am done.
00:11:31 Oh, shit.
00:11:33 Oh, that's properly fucked.
00:11:34 >> My unique selling point was that I was really bad at the game.
00:11:37 But I enjoyed the whole video making process.
00:11:40 >> He came and he stuck.
00:11:41 And he's like sort of forever been under the wing.
00:11:44 At the end of the day, we were just friends.
00:11:46 People ended up connecting with us because of our connection on screens.
00:11:50 It's quite cute, really.
00:11:51 >> The first Sidemen house is a fun one.
00:11:57 It consisted of me, Simon, Vic and JJ.
00:12:00 And from the get-go, the attitude was, we're here, we're working,
00:12:04 we're going for it.
00:12:05 >> Kitchen, fridge.
00:12:06 >> Is that a box?
00:12:09 >> The first Sidemen house was known by many as The Factory.
00:12:17 And believe me, that was an assembly line of content all hours of the day.
00:12:23 >> We'd eat dinner, film, finish filming, go downstairs, film Sankhouse in the kitchen,
00:12:30 wake up, edit, edit, edit, edit, and then go back into that same routine every day.
00:12:33 >> These guys are sitting in every day playing video games.
00:12:36 And it was honestly, I just couldn't believe what I was seeing.
00:12:38 Like these guys continuously working.
00:12:40 And yeah, I don't think it is healthy for anyone to work as much as they did.
00:12:46 These guys are confined in their rooms, sitting, playing video games nonstop.
00:12:51 But you could argue like that was the difference maker between
00:12:55 them being where they are now and maybe a different outcome.
00:12:58 >> You boys have no life.
00:13:00 You don't do anything.
00:13:01 You sit in your bedrooms all day.
00:13:03 You're getting old.
00:13:04 Your life's withering away.
00:13:06 What are you doing with your life?
00:13:08 Go do something.
00:13:09 Why?
00:13:10 Why?
00:13:10 Don't just stare at a screen till you're 60.
00:13:13 Live.
00:13:14 Experience the life, visit a country, do something.
00:13:18 Do anything, bro.
00:13:21 Go on a hike.
00:13:22 >> At the start, I didn't see it as a job.
00:13:27 I was literally posting every day because I wanted to.
00:13:31 I'm literally living with my best mates and everything I'm doing is fun.
00:13:36 So why not just do that all the time?
00:13:37 >> This episode is definitely the one.
00:13:39 >> Peace out, man.
00:13:41 >> What the fuck?
00:13:46 What the fuck is this?
00:13:49 [LAUGH]
00:14:00 >> It was relentless.
00:14:01 It didn't stop.
00:14:02 But everything was paying off so well.
00:14:04 And the space was, compared to now, it was so unsaturated that the more content we could make,
00:14:10 the more views we were going to get.
00:14:12 There was no level of quality, really, that had hit the platform in the same way that it has now.
00:14:17 So for us, it was a win, win, win.
00:14:19 >> It was fascinating to be part of YouTube early on and seeing those talented young people
00:14:26 creating the future back then.
00:14:30 And many people didn't understand, including myself, by the way, it was unique.
00:14:33 It's seldom you have that feeling when something is created that is beyond
00:14:39 those people creating it.
00:14:41 They didn't even understand what they were creating.
00:14:44 >> The main difference between YouTube and the traditional media companies is an issue of control
00:14:52 and gatekeeping.
00:14:54 So the broadcasters would always, in the past, have been the people who would decide who's on TV,
00:14:59 what they're doing on TV.
00:15:01 YouTube completely turned that on its head.
00:15:03 It effectively said, there's no barriers for you to get your content out there.
00:15:08 You can do what you like.
00:15:10 There's not going to be a producer or a commissioner telling you exactly how to do that.
00:15:15 And that's really where things have been interesting over the last 15 years.
00:15:18 >> It was like a perfect storm, really, because every success you was having was new,
00:15:24 it was exciting, and you was on the treadmill.
00:15:28 When you're on it, it's so natural.
00:15:30 You get the fastest setting and you're going and nothing can stop you.
00:15:34 You're just going, going, going, going, going, going.
00:15:35 >> The Zerker name holds a lot of weight.
00:15:47 If we're talking about Cyb3n stuff, I want to hear what Josh has to think about it,
00:15:51 because I just feel like he's a very tuned in guy about that kind of stuff.
00:15:55 He's also just a nice guy.
00:15:56 He's a friendly guy.
00:15:58 Josh has been the same for as long as I've known him.
00:16:01 Very fun, but at the same time, very calculated and smart.
00:16:04 And he thinks about everything that he does.
00:16:06 One thing that nobody knows about you.
00:16:09 One thing.
00:16:11 >> Nobody, though.
00:16:12 >> Nobody.
00:16:13 You're revealing a secret to the world for the first time.
00:16:15 Exclusive premiere.
00:16:17 >> Things you don't know about me.
00:16:19 I suffer from crippling anxiety.
00:16:23 I sometimes have panic attacks in the shower because of fear of death.
00:16:27 [MUSIC]
00:16:31 With anxiety, it's a mixture of things.
00:16:34 It makes me very hyper aware of everything.
00:16:38 Very calculated in what I do.
00:16:40 But it doesn't come because I want to, it comes because that's how I think.
00:16:43 It works for me.
00:16:45 But obviously, it's not an ideal thing to be doing, I guess.
00:16:49 I mean, it's weird, though, right?
00:16:52 Like, it's a weird discussion.
00:16:54 People say, like, should I feel bad about that?
00:16:58 Is it a good thing?
00:16:58 I'm very anxious, so it may be very good at work.
00:17:03 [MUSIC]
00:17:10 The way that I've always dealt with things is through gaming.
00:17:14 It's like a whole world you can go escaping.
00:17:17 And the greatest example that I'll use is the reason why I'm here today is because
00:17:20 when I was younger, my parents got divorced.
00:17:23 And when there was arguments going on, or when there was, like, stuff going on,
00:17:26 sat in my room, played Call of Duty all night.
00:17:28 Which led me to go down the path of playing Call of Duty competitively,
00:17:33 which then led me to be a YouTuber, which is where I am today.
00:17:37 So in the weirdest way possible, there's arguments with my parents breaking up,
00:17:42 but sometimes it's one of the best things that ever happened to me.
00:17:44 [MUSIC]
00:17:53 It's mental.
00:17:53 It is insane, isn't it?
00:17:55 Actually insane.
00:17:56 It's like we've got a little inside theater.
00:17:57 Bro, he's got a cinema in his house.
00:17:58 It's the master bedroom?
00:18:04 Yes.
00:18:04 So if they want it tonight, like, they can press the button and put the shades down.
00:18:08 It's actually scary.
00:18:12 I know everywhere here way too well.
00:18:15 So you've picked the locations because of GTA?
00:18:18 Yeah.
00:18:19 You know how sad it is?
00:18:19 I know GTA road names off by heart.
00:18:22 That's crazy.
00:18:23 Like the whole city.
00:18:24 It's fucked up.
00:18:25 I tried to catch the spurs, I didn't catch nothing.
00:18:30 I'm ready to have a great day.
00:18:33 All right, guys, gather up.
00:18:35 Maybe just get the shot and then we'll just cheat and edit.
00:18:38 So it looks like at the same time.
00:18:39 Are we ready?
00:18:41 Welcome to LA, boys.
00:18:45 This time we're in America.
00:18:49 Basically, we're trying to get that Mr. Beast American audience.
00:18:53 I feel like we've had everything but that.
00:18:57 We've definitely conquered the UK.
00:18:59 We've smashed it in Europe.
00:19:00 We kind of just need that American audience.
00:19:02 And this is a great way to do it.
00:19:04 Us being out here showing, you know, the love that we have for America
00:19:09 and also making good videos out here.
00:19:11 I'm excited, man.
00:19:12 I feel like this is going to take us to the next level.
00:19:18 OK, can you read, bro?
00:19:19 We don't know what we're doing.
00:19:21 What? What did you read?
00:19:22 Like, we don't know what we're doing.
00:19:24 Bro, all you do, walk up, say your name, your age.
00:19:29 10 shakes, 10 guys.
00:19:30 And we have to make up the lines?
00:19:31 Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:19:32 I got to get to work, bro.
00:19:33 Why do you have to get to work?
00:19:34 What do you mean?
00:19:36 I don't have any fucking lines.
00:19:37 The US trip, that was something.
00:19:39 We filmed like three videos out there.
00:19:41 I'm KSI, I'm 29.
00:19:47 Spent something around half a million dollars on that trip.
00:19:52 So there's a lot of money going into these projects,
00:19:55 which is in return a lot of pressure to deliver.
00:19:57 It'd be in Hollywood, it'd be near our hotel.
00:19:59 And also, the quicker you get stuff done,
00:20:01 the less track it'll be coming back from Venice Beach to Hollywood.
00:20:05 All right?
00:20:06 So make sure they just don't, like, fucking mope about, yeah.
00:20:10 That's good. That's good content anyway.
00:20:12 All right?
00:20:13 I'm just tired.
00:20:14 No one's had any sleep?
00:20:16 No one's had sleep.
00:20:17 So it was all a bit, like, chaotic and crazy.
00:20:20 It's a ropey one.
00:20:21 It's a lot of pressure on this video.
00:20:24 And you think, oh yeah, LA is a great place to film.
00:20:26 Turns out it's not.
00:20:27 Turns out America is.
00:20:29 It's just an awful place to film, because they all know.
00:20:31 They get it.
00:20:32 They understand filming.
00:20:32 So they're like, right, you guys earn money.
00:20:35 We all charge you this much.
00:20:37 Use this at just ridiculous rates all the time.
00:20:40 Whatever happens, you roll with the punches and make it work.
00:20:43 That's what we do as Sidemen.
00:20:44 We make stuff work regardless of the circumstances.
00:20:46 A lot of people underestimate how hard it is to be successful as a creator.
00:20:53 And I get really frustrated with how dismissive people are of creators thinking,
00:20:57 oh, it's just easy.
00:20:58 They're just, you know, in their bedroom and they just talk nonsense.
00:21:01 That is rubbish.
00:21:03 It is so hard to get cut through, particularly on a platform like YouTube,
00:21:07 where there are 600 hours uploaded every minute.
00:21:10 [MUSIC]
00:21:16 [INTERPOSING VOICES]
00:21:28 Nice to meet you, guys.
00:21:29 Oh, my God.
00:21:33 I don't want to make you feel old.
00:21:34 I'm back from when I was younger, dude.
00:21:36 I still watch y'all today.
00:21:37 So I'm kind of shaking.
00:21:38 So thank you.
00:21:39 Thank you very much.
00:21:39 [INTERPOSING VOICES]
00:21:42 I think fans feel like they know us better than traditional celebrities
00:21:46 because they are seeing us as us.
00:21:49 When you see a footballer, you see them kick a ball about.
00:21:51 You don't see any personality.
00:21:52 When you see an actor, they're being someone else.
00:21:54 When it's us, you're literally seeing, you know, you're seeing Toby be Toby.
00:21:58 That's it.
00:21:58 [MUSIC]
00:22:03 How are you?
00:22:03 Doing good.
00:22:04 Good, man.
00:22:05 Yeah?
00:22:05 Good.
00:22:06 Chillin'.
00:22:06 Can I get a picture?
00:22:07 Of course you can, bro.
00:22:08 You didn't expect to see me out there?
00:22:11 Yeah, nope.
00:22:12 Honestly, no.
00:22:14 You filming YouTube?
00:22:17 Yeah, bro.
00:22:17 I was doing a road trip.
00:22:18 I'm in the middle of the desert, bro.
00:22:22 You're in the middle of the desert and someone's hooked you.
00:22:24 That's so crazy, man.
00:22:25 You lot are crazy.
00:22:26 I fucking love you lot so much, man.
00:22:28 [MUSIC]
00:22:37 They're running across the road for me.
00:22:38 This is not safe.
00:22:39 [SCREAMING]
00:22:43 Our first event as the Sidemen, Insomnia, was a real eye-opener.
00:22:47 It legitimized what we did.
00:22:50 It turned those numbers and those comments into real faces, real people.
00:22:56 It really started to make us understand the power of the Sidemen brand
00:22:59 more so than we did up until that point.
00:23:02 [MUSIC]
00:23:12 That was the first time I think we realized that it was like a big deal.
00:23:30 It felt really weird because obviously we do everything online and then you go to this place
00:23:33 and you're meeting these people in person who actually like your stuff.
00:23:36 It was really weird.
00:23:37 And back then, that was mental.
00:23:39 They ran a merch store at Insomnia and they ran it as kind of cash only.
00:23:45 This is how humble their background was, right?
00:23:48 They literally had printed some t-shirts and hoodies, took them to this event.
00:23:51 And Josh said he had a rucksack with £100,000 in cash.
00:23:55 It was at that moment for me, I was really brought to my attention
00:24:00 how powerful these guys are in that community.
00:24:03 All right, that's the end of Insomnia.
00:24:05 [MUSIC]
00:24:13 That's a wrap.
00:24:14 [MUSIC]
00:24:19 In the early days, monetization made it possible to create this industry.
00:24:26 I was a broadcast uni student.
00:24:29 I was living off of Subway points, I promise you.
00:24:31 My Subway card was probably the most valuable thing in my wallet.
00:24:34 When I'm seeing that the stuff that I'm doing on YouTube has the potential to get me some money
00:24:39 that I can use to pay off these expenses that I have while I'm studying,
00:24:43 I'm like, "Okay, cool. That is a motivating factor."
00:24:46 It was like a, "Hang on a second.
00:24:47 The more I can crank this number of views up,
00:24:49 the more money I get in my bank account at the end of the month,
00:24:53 the more validation this has, the more cool things that I can buy and do."
00:24:58 You uploaded these videos on a weekly basis,
00:25:01 and you got more and more audience, and suddenly the algorithm recognized you,
00:25:05 and you start making money on advertising that YouTube was selling.
00:25:08 And the big ones were making millions.
00:25:12 [MUSIC]
00:25:15 I got a bloody Lambo when I was like 18,
00:25:18 because I was making like decent money back then.
00:25:21 Obviously a horrendous and fiscally irresponsible idea,
00:25:25 because the insurance itself costs more than the car.
00:25:27 Look what I've done already.
00:25:29 It was ridiculous.
00:25:29 I bought a pair of shoes that was $30,000.
00:25:34 [MUSIC]
00:25:40 Bought a gold PS5.
00:25:42 You look like you're holding a baby.
00:25:44 No, I take way more care with this than a baby.
00:25:46 Baby ain't worth 8,000.
00:25:48 [MUSIC]
00:25:54 Buying a Lamborghini and then calling it Purple Tron,
00:25:58 even having like Need for Speed LED lights underneath.
00:26:01 I mean, it looked cool as fuck, but the amount of attention that I got was incredible.
00:26:07 [MUSIC]
00:26:14 When I was younger, I'd always be like, "I need this amount of money,
00:26:17 and when I've got this amount of money,
00:26:18 I can just stop doing YouTube and just live my life and travel."
00:26:22 And because that's really what I want to do.
00:26:24 I just want to go and have fun and do stuff.
00:26:27 But then I realized I should really be saving in case I've got like a family in the future.
00:26:31 And I want to put my money to a good cause and stuff,
00:26:33 like do like actual good stuff with it.
00:26:35 [MUSIC]
00:26:43 Harry is unapologetically himself.
00:26:45 And he's just so weird.
00:26:47 No, no, no, no, no, no.
00:26:48 He's so weird.
00:26:51 But normal at the same time.
00:26:52 People know he's outrageous.
00:26:55 People know he says outrageous things.
00:26:56 He's free to be that.
00:26:58 So what this intro was meant to be was me hitting the bucket of drinks all over my mum.
00:27:08 But instead...
00:27:08 [MUSIC]
00:27:19 [MUSIC]
00:27:23 I was really lucky to grow up in Guernsey because
00:27:25 it's just like the perfect little adventure playground for a kid.
00:27:29 I used to build like tree houses and stuff.
00:27:31 I used to just, I don't know, muck about.
00:27:33 But I was a bit of a weird kid.
00:27:35 So I didn't have like a load of friends when I was growing up there.
00:27:37 But I think being the weird kid pushed me into doing YouTube.
00:27:40 As soon as YouTube was like a half thing,
00:27:43 like people post on there, I was on there.
00:27:45 And I know a lot of guys are OGs on YouTube.
00:27:47 But I promise you I wasn't far behind because I was posting like...
00:27:50 Not even like proper video, just like me editing like special effects of stuff.
00:27:54 Hey guys, this is going to be a quick unedited vlog
00:28:00 for Adam on your PC for his Christmas collab video.
00:28:03 Pretty much all I have to say is Merry Christmas, have a nice Christmas.
00:28:06 I hope you get all the presents you want.
00:28:08 And if you don't, then shoot Santa.
00:28:09 Harry is Harry Stevens on camera really.
00:28:12 He's very lovable.
00:28:13 Like a golden retriever, you know, like a Labrador.
00:28:17 That's that type of energy.
00:28:18 He's just cuddly, you know, so he's a great guy.
00:28:20 You're a very hard worker as well.
00:28:21 People think maybe they would think that he's like lazy
00:28:24 because he doesn't post all the time, but he's not.
00:28:26 When he sets out to do something,
00:28:29 he does it to the best of his ability and he creates the best content.
00:28:32 A hard work ethic is really the glue that binds the seven of them together.
00:28:37 The fact that they keep doing it with such a smile on their face,
00:28:41 loving what they do is a testament to I think their friendship,
00:28:44 but also that work ethic, which really has enabled them to get to this position.
00:28:48 Because not many people are here after 10 years,
00:28:52 more relevant than ever and growing at a pace
00:28:54 that you would assume this was their first year, not their 10th.
00:28:57 What do you think motivates us to keep going?
00:29:00 Legacy.
00:29:01 I mean, for me, it's always legacy.
00:29:03 Ego.
00:29:04 I think deep down we've worked so hard to get to the top that...
00:29:08 We don't want to let it go.
00:29:09 We can't let it go now, yeah.
00:29:10 We don't want to be washed.
00:29:11 That's the same reason why I assume you still post videos,
00:29:14 because you could stop tomorrow and you would slowly like...
00:29:17 He stopped two years ago.
00:29:19 Sidemen.
00:29:20 No, but he could stop.
00:29:21 Sidemen, you could just kind of chill.
00:29:23 I'm down for that.
00:29:24 That's a great plan.
00:29:25 So why don't you leave tomorrow?
00:29:26 I heard it many times.
00:29:27 He's like, "I can't wait for this thing to end."
00:29:28 Yeah, I think I'm close.
00:29:30 We all laugh when he says it, yeah.
00:29:34 We all laugh when he says it.
00:29:35 I always hear that.
00:29:36 You can hear the truth in it.
00:29:37 The truth in it, every time.
00:29:38 But like, what is...
00:29:39 It gets stronger every time as well.
00:29:41 What keeps you going from stopping tomorrow?
00:29:44 Because I enjoy it still.
00:29:45 That's what I'm saying.
00:29:46 I enjoy it. I enjoy it.
00:29:47 I enjoy it.
00:29:47 But also, I enjoy the...
00:29:48 It's this stuff.
00:29:50 The shoots I enjoy.
00:29:56 Is everything where you are technically in charge?
00:29:59 I guess so, yeah.
00:30:01 If this was to come to a vote now, you would have said no, innit?
00:30:03 What do you mean?
00:30:04 Like, to do this.
00:30:05 To do this whole piece that we're making.
00:30:06 This whole...
00:30:07 We're all lovely people, but yeah.
00:30:08 Yeah, I don't know.
00:30:11 Oh, it's fair.
00:30:12 What's the...
00:30:13 What are you guys...
00:30:14 What are you doing?
00:30:15 What's your plan?
00:30:16 So, I see YouTube as the core, the heart.
00:30:19 Without YouTube, everything dies.
00:30:21 That's a smart man.
00:30:22 So, like, I wouldn't be able to box.
00:30:23 I wouldn't be able to do music without YouTube.
00:30:26 So, I always feel like I have to post content there
00:30:29 to make sure everything else thrives.
00:30:31 [Music]
00:30:41 [Cheering]
00:30:51 [Chanting]
00:30:57 From London, England, the social media legend, recording artist, actor, songwriter, rapper,
00:31:07 the undefeated Misfits Cruiserweight Champion, the Nightmare...
00:31:15 KSI!
00:31:21 [Cheering]
00:31:23 Scheduled for six rounds, KSI and Timber.
00:31:27 This right here is when the fight's gonna be decided.
00:31:29 KSI said this week, "I'm willing to eat those to get to where I want to get to."
00:31:33 Tommy's gotta stay on his bike.
00:31:35 Don't get lulled into playing the trade game.
00:31:37 KSI, short tummy.
00:31:39 [Music]
00:31:43 Short shot.
00:31:44 Short shot.
00:31:45 Those shots land and they hurt.
00:31:47 Gotta work angles if you're Tommy, though.
00:31:49 He can't attack in straight lines. KSI can step back and land a bomb.
00:31:53 [Music]
00:31:58 Can he get up?
00:31:59 Oh, can he get up?
00:32:00 He's done!
00:32:01 He's done!
00:32:02 KSI!
00:32:05 What a knockout!
00:32:07 Oh, my God.
00:32:08 What a knockout!
00:32:09 The winner by knockout victory, still undefeated, and still the Misfits Cruiserweight Champion,
00:32:18 KSI!
00:32:25 [Music]
00:32:29 [Street noise]
00:32:35 [Indistinct chatter]
00:32:39 Hey, sorry, baby!
00:32:41 Sorry, baby!
00:32:43 Hey!
00:32:45 [Indistinct chatter]
00:32:48 As soon as he walks out, I get incredibly nervous.
00:32:51 When he gets punched a little bit, everyone in the side men and troops and everyone like that just goes, "Oh, my God, no!"
00:32:57 We fear, but in my heart, I'm just like, "I know he wins."
00:33:02 [Indistinct chatter]
00:33:04 Stop boxing. We have videos to make, JJ.
00:33:07 Fuck!
00:33:09 We've got videos to make, and you're doing camp for six weeks at a time.
00:33:14 Fuck!
00:33:16 [Music]
00:33:22 Life was interesting with me and my family.
00:33:25 You know, we weren't super rich, but my parents were, I guess, immigrants.
00:33:31 They came over from Nigeria and just put a lot of work into me and my bro.
00:33:37 [Music]
00:33:40 Get out!
00:33:42 Hey, guys! Your boy, Kisale, of G-Lady T, and today I'm doing a Q&A Sunday with my bro.
00:33:48 Say hi.
00:33:50 Oh, he's such an idiot.
00:33:52 My earliest memory of Deji was when he couldn't hold his piss, and my mum gave him a bottle.
00:34:01 So he tried peeing in the bottle, and his dick fell out, and he just started pissing all over me.
00:34:06 Yeah, that was an experience.
00:34:09 JJ went from this super nerdy, like, super shy guy to one of the most famous people in the country,
00:34:15 maybe in the world, you know, boxer, rapper, and also he carried the entire UK scene.
00:34:21 The UK would not be like this without JJ on YouTube, for sure. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
00:34:26 JJ is a funny character. He's the most egotistical person and the most humble person simultaneously.
00:34:35 And when that camera is on, his character is in full flow, so everything that you know about JJ is elevated probably like five times minimum.
00:34:45 Oh my God!
00:34:48 [Screaming]
00:34:49 Get out! Get out, bro! I'm going to die! I'm going to die! I'm going to die, bro!
00:34:54 Oh, no, nigger! Get out! Shit! Shit!
00:34:59 I think my parents' work ethic is definitely a huge reason why I'm so successful.
00:35:05 I'm just always grinding. Like, I always have said that I'm not talented. I'm just a person that just works extremely hard.
00:35:12 There's the same way if you put 10,000 hours into something, you become a master at it.
00:35:16 And, you know, I've definitely had 10,000 hours on YouTube, and that's why I'm in the position I'm in.
00:35:22 [Music]
00:35:43 In 2017, I definitely felt like as a YouTuber, there was just no way you could do music properly.
00:35:51 People struggle to differentiate between a musician putting out, you know, hot, felt music and music that was important to you,
00:36:01 and then also a YouTuber who's able to make funny, random videos.
00:36:05 [Music]
00:36:11 So I was kind of battling with that aspect and decided, oh, I wanted to become a musician and really focus on music.
00:36:21 [Music]
00:36:29 [Sighs]
00:36:33 Obviously, this is not an easy video to make. I'm no longer with Sidemen.
00:36:50 I think I was just on my computer and it came up, and then the group chat just started popping up,
00:36:54 just kind of like, "What's going on, JJ? Why is this video? Are you serious? Are you not?"
00:36:59 Obviously, you know, I love the guys. Guys will always be in my heart no matter what, but, you know, all good things come to an end, I guess.
00:37:06 JJ is a very trusting guy, and I know that he had countless people telling him to leave Sidemen, come to LA.
00:37:15 You can be way bigger, blah, blah, blah, selling him like proper dreams.
00:37:18 So it was a nervous time for all of us in terms of would he leave?
00:37:23 Why I'm leaving Sidemen? Mainly because of Ethan. I'd say he was the main reason I'm leaving. Can't stand him.
00:37:33 I could see it coming because it makes sense why he singled me out because I'm an easy target in the sense of, like, I dish it out to everyone anyway.
00:37:45 At that point, that was the low point in the Sidemen arc, I would say.
00:37:50 It was at that point where we were starting to make videos less together. JJ was taking his music more seriously, and it could have been the point everything kind of fizzled out.
00:38:18 I woke up in bed with my girlfriend at the time who said, "Hey, have you seen what JJ's just uploaded?"
00:38:24 So I wake up like this, I'm watching it on my phone, thinking, "What on earth's happening?"
00:38:29 I do have some sort of, like, pride in myself a little bit. Like, I will do something.
00:38:35 I will perform to what you want me to if you think I'm not going to, because I bet he didn't expect me to have the whole thing out 24 hours later.
00:38:42 No way. And that's what I really liked about it, in releasing that, because you can tell by the songs.
00:38:48 Music's not my forte in The Scientists, right?
00:38:51 But the fact that he might wake up and go on his phone and go, "Really? Like, Ethan did that?"
00:38:56 That's the dub. That was the W for me.
00:38:59 [Music]
00:39:12 [Laughter]
00:39:16 What the fuck is this shit? Man, you know I gotta react to this.
00:39:20 [Music]
00:39:27 Um, no, sorry. Fuck off.
00:39:29 [Music]
00:39:32 Never made a diss. What the fuck is this thing?
00:39:35 The Dinger Drover KSI Westcom diss track.
00:39:39 The diss track thing, my eyes lit up. Like, it was a perfect opportunity.
00:39:43 Like, I'd always liked doing, like, in these Skype calls we used to have, we used to just sit there and just do rap battles all the time.
00:39:50 So we'd, like, sync up a beat, we'd all be here at the same time, and then we'd just, like, rap at each other, which I always really enjoyed.
00:39:55 So as soon as I figured out, like, diss tracks were happening, I was like, "I could do a diss track here."
00:39:59 [Music]
00:40:21 It's the best diss track I've ever heard in my life.
00:40:23 The first time I heard of the Sidemen was actually Harry's diss track against JJ.
00:40:30 'Cause we were beefing at the time, and Harry made the diss track. I thought it was awesome.
00:40:35 [Music]
00:40:45 When I first heard Harry's diss track, I was pissed, because he went in, and I was like, "Bro, what the fuck are you doing?"
00:40:53 It was an a miracle at the time, and I was, like, so angry.
00:40:57 So I was like, "Aight, calm, bless, like, we're gonna go down this route."
00:41:02 And then that's when I decided to make Lil Boi.
00:41:05 [Music]
00:41:19 You know what, that's probably, that's one of the first times JJ actually started to shine as, like, raw.
00:41:24 His words and his music is actually hitting, you know what I'm saying? It's hitting, like, even though it was comical, it was fun, it was just in jest.
00:41:30 JJ actually started to let them shine through as, like, we're making music, you know what I'm saying?
00:41:35 We're actually dissing, we're actually saying things, we're hitting with music, we're thinking about what we're doing,
00:41:38 we're thinking about the beat, thinking about the beat switch, the cutouts, the video.
00:41:41 [Music]
00:41:55 Maybe if there was no diss tracks, JJ might not have taken his music as seriously as he's taking it now.
00:42:01 That was a sick time. Can't be done again.
00:42:03 [Music]
00:42:17 You know what, I was surprised to hear Simon spit that quick.
00:42:21 He done a sick job. And that video, we filmed it in, like, an evening at some petrol station.
00:42:29 And then I had the edit up ready the next day.
00:42:31 And I remember the moment of when he clicked the upload button, and then as soon as you hit refresh to see how many views you've got, it said 40,000.
00:42:40 I'm not kidding. It was literally 30 seconds. That's insane.
00:42:44 I think it was just a good way that we could all have fun, get views, and that's about it really, to be honest.
00:42:50 But then it ended up spiraling.
00:42:52 Okay.
00:42:54 You're a cormorant, I'm a vindaloo. When you're a bad boy, Yinka grabs the shoe.
00:43:00 [Laughs]
00:43:02 While you're out trying to fuck groupies, I got your mom twerking for my rupees.
00:43:07 [Laughs]
00:43:09 It's impossible to put a value on how lucrative the diss tracks ended up being by the complete coincidence that we fell into them.
00:43:17 But I would say on the diss track videos alone, it was probably half a million pounds worth of revenue.
00:43:23 And if you talk about how much viewership and attention it drove towards us, several times that in the long run.
00:43:30 It rallied all of these fans. It created this huge content opportunity that actually made the Sidemen bigger than it had ever been.
00:43:38 Ultimately, I'm still on the Sidemen because they're my boys.
00:43:45 Yeah, I know it's hard work making my dreams come true, as well as doing stuff with the Sidemen and making our dreams together come true.
00:43:54 But it's what I'm willing to do to make sure me and them are good.
00:43:59 Yeah, just because they're my boys, man.
00:44:02 [Laughs]
00:44:12 With the cheap versus expensive videos, it becomes very personal.
00:44:16 Because it's very hard to see past the fact that you've got one team having a great time.
00:44:21 [Cheering]
00:44:23 This is my holiday!
00:44:25 But you've got lots of cool experiences.
00:44:27 [Splash]
00:44:28 And you're stuck on the bad team.
00:44:30 We've got some bug spray.
00:44:31 We've got some mosquito repellent in our bag.
00:44:33 I want it, where is it?
00:44:34 Behind the scenes with the boys, it turns into like, what the hell is this?
00:44:38 So literally, we've been given a camping spot that is just riddled with literally stinging nettles.
00:44:46 The audience don't want to see the bad team have a great time.
00:44:49 They want to see the bad team suffer.
00:44:51 Because the suffering is the content.
00:44:53 I've more than accepted fate. We are in a fucking shit hole.
00:44:59 We are camping on Brock. We have a Brock formation in our fucking tent.
00:45:03 Can we do a hostile takeover of the other campsite?
00:45:07 Are you eating already?
00:45:09 Fuck off, I'm in my happy place.
00:45:11 I don't mean eating a sausage in a forest.
00:45:15 Okay, so we've returned to now the bad team.
00:45:20 Now to get abused and attacked for making it be on the bad team.
00:45:24 Piss off.
00:45:25 Is he here?
00:45:27 Yeah, he is here. Piss off, you fucking big head.
00:45:30 God, what a spot.
00:45:32 Does he want a slice?
00:45:35 Oh no, you don't look very happy.
00:45:37 This is the worst one you've ever done.
00:45:38 Why?
00:45:39 It's awful.
00:45:40 Sit down.
00:45:41 I've got a present for you.
00:45:42 No, no, take a seat.
00:45:43 I like the council.
00:45:44 Welcome to...
00:45:45 Hang on two seconds.
00:45:46 Welcome to team tent.
00:45:51 Team tent? Nice.
00:45:53 Team tent up in this bitch.
00:45:54 I actually went and visited the bad team.
00:45:57 And their moods were not in the greatest of ways.
00:46:01 Snack these ones off.
00:46:02 What the fuck is this game?
00:46:04 And poor Ethan as well, because at that time,
00:46:06 Ethan hadn't really experienced a good life of being on a good team.
00:46:09 So I feel like it's a bottled up frustration that occurred from being on the bad team.
00:46:13 What does the new card say?
00:46:15 This is congratulations.
00:46:17 You've come out on top from bad to good.
00:46:19 Get ready to swap.
00:46:20 So you're happy now, yeah?
00:46:24 Good enough, bro.
00:46:27 We've been in dog food, bro.
00:46:29 We've done this.
00:46:30 We've been through the worst bit.
00:46:32 There's no point in...
00:46:33 How do I welcome you, man?
00:46:34 One of you come.
00:46:36 I'll get Vex at you, bro.
00:46:37 We've done the worst.
00:46:38 Toby, go.
00:46:39 How are you upset about getting...
00:46:41 Because it's pointless.
00:46:42 What are you going to do?
00:46:43 They're coming and do everything that we've already done.
00:46:44 No shit.
00:46:45 One person's coming.
00:46:46 I don't care.
00:46:47 One person's coming.
00:46:48 I ain't going.
00:46:49 Me and Beth aren't going.
00:46:50 We're in this life.
00:46:51 Toby, go.
00:46:52 Toby, go.
00:46:53 No.
00:46:54 Look, look, look.
00:46:55 You, look.
00:46:56 They ain't in the dog food.
00:46:57 They're going to come here and look at this.
00:46:59 I'll get Vex, yeah?
00:47:00 They're going to come here.
00:47:01 They ain't been in the dog food, bro.
00:47:02 Just work with him.
00:47:03 Just work with him.
00:47:04 No, no, no.
00:47:05 Me and Beth can't go.
00:47:06 Why is this so hard?
00:47:07 We've done it already.
00:47:08 What's the point in swapping?
00:47:09 You get a great night.
00:47:10 You get a great night, bro.
00:47:11 I'm going home.
00:47:12 I'd rather get in the cabin and fuck off, bro.
00:47:13 I'm so glad I've seen this footage.
00:47:14 This is amazing.
00:47:15 Yeah, it's funny.
00:47:16 That was my hotheading us.
00:47:17 It was bad.
00:47:18 It's fine.
00:47:19 It got 30 million views.
00:47:20 You've done well, mate.
00:47:21 You've done well.
00:47:22 Damn.
00:47:23 That was the only one I think I've ever had with you ever.
00:47:24 Argument.
00:47:25 Yeah, yeah.
00:47:26 Like proper argument.
00:47:27 Let's be honest.
00:47:28 We fall out a few times.
00:47:29 I feel like you're always involved.
00:47:30 Not always.
00:47:31 Even if he's not involved, he makes himself involved.
00:47:32 He loves it.
00:47:33 He lives to it.
00:47:34 We didn't even know.
00:47:35 It would normally involve you, me, or you.
00:47:36 Yeah.
00:47:37 It's us three.
00:47:38 It's us three.
00:47:39 Us four are angels.
00:47:40 Yeah.
00:47:41 Harry, have you ever got into it?
00:47:42 No, but I love watching it from the outside.
00:47:43 I love a little bit of it.
00:47:44 He's like a podcast host.
00:47:45 He's like a podcast host.
00:47:46 I love it.
00:47:47 I love it.
00:47:48 I love it.
00:47:49 I love it.
00:47:50 I love it.
00:47:53 He's like a podster.
00:47:54 He's like a podster.
00:47:55 I'm like, I try and be like, I try to help guys.
00:47:58 Just like a counsellor.
00:47:59 I try and explain both sides to you and it doesn't work.
00:48:01 So then Vik does the same.
00:48:02 Tobi does the same as well.
00:48:03 And he just sits there and goes, "Whoa."
00:48:06 We're like seven very different personalities, but somehow it all just works.
00:48:09 Naturally.
00:48:20 Your nose looks like it's on a Snapchat filter 24/7.
00:48:27 Hey Slender, how come you have cum in your hair?
00:48:33 The interesting part of being on social media is that you have an ability to be able to
00:48:39 see and respond very quickly.
00:48:42 But with that, trolling and mental health has become a real topic of conversation.
00:48:48 What is the difference between Vikkstar and a tree?
00:48:51 Nothing.
00:48:52 They're both hollow on the inside and brown on the outside.
00:48:57 Instant feedback can be really toxic.
00:49:00 It can be very, very detrimental, especially when you consider the age of a lot of these
00:49:06 creators.
00:49:07 Well, this one's just foul.
00:49:08 He's like, the app might as well be a tweet itself.
00:49:11 Bazinga, a fat cunt, says...
00:49:13 See?
00:49:14 I've done already.
00:49:15 Oh, Jesus.
00:49:16 That's so nice.
00:49:17 Oh my God.
00:49:18 Oh.
00:49:19 @Bazinga, you are so fat it's embarrassing.
00:49:20 I laughed so much when I heard that you cried every day after school because you were bullet
00:49:34 just because you are so ugly and fat.
00:49:47 It's 4.50 in the morning.
00:49:49 So yeah, it's been a long day.
00:49:53 From my lighting, I look okay.
00:49:54 But I don't know, right now, I look like shit.
00:49:58 I look like utter shit.
00:50:08 Ethan got a lot of negative comments.
00:50:11 People online will find your weakness and pounce on that.
00:50:16 So I imagine it would have been really hard.
00:50:20 You could get 368 comments, right?
00:50:24 Seven of those will be horrific, hateful comments.
00:50:28 But the other 300 odd are really nice, but your brain completely blanks them.
00:50:33 You should pay attention to the seven comments.
00:50:35 They're ripping you down.
00:50:36 I wouldn't say I was aware that Ethan was depressed about his weight back in 2018.
00:50:42 But I feel like there were small signs that he wasn't the happiest.
00:50:56 When you're happy with yourself, making three videos a day is a breeze because you're doing
00:51:00 something you love and you think, yeah, cool, I can't wait to share this.
00:51:03 I can't wait to click upload.
00:51:04 When you're not happy within yourself, it's almost like people expect three videos a day.
00:51:10 I don't feel good enough to post three videos a day.
00:51:13 And it's only so long you can burn that end of it before it bites you.
00:51:17 And that's where I think I got to.
00:51:18 I got to a point where I just wasn't happy at all.
00:51:23 I think when Ethan was at his lowest, he kept everything to himself a lot.
00:51:27 So I wish he'd spoken to us because we could have helped in any way we could.
00:51:32 I've always had in my head, like, I feel like I should have picked up on things a little
00:51:34 bit earlier.
00:51:35 But at the same time, I was out a lot drinking loads.
00:51:39 So that was pretty normal for me.
00:51:42 He was drinking a lot, but wasn't really going out as much.
00:51:45 So he would just stay at home and drink while playing video games.
00:51:50 It definitely got to a point where like, look, we've gone through a whole bottle of JD in
00:51:54 one night.
00:51:55 Like, that was probably where I started raising eyebrows.
00:52:00 Bottles of Jack Daniels were going quickly.
00:52:03 I think like 250 quid's worth of weed a week.
00:52:06 That's nuts.
00:52:07 I said, listen, it's fine.
00:52:10 Like I'm okay.
00:52:11 I'm in control of it.
00:52:12 Bollocks.
00:52:13 I'm not in control of it at all.
00:52:14 I'm exhausted.
00:52:15 And the expectation is getting the better of me, I think.
00:52:18 I think it's just getting the better of me.
00:52:20 I've literally been running myself into the ground till like four or five, half past five
00:52:24 in the morning.
00:52:25 And like, I do not feel okay.
00:52:34 I knew that was a burden.
00:52:35 Like, I'm a shit person to be around.
00:52:39 So it was tough mentally.
00:52:42 I've had like the thoughts of like, oh, this is shit.
00:52:47 If I wipe myself off, then this all ends.
00:52:57 It's really dark, right?
00:52:58 Because I know there's a big bridge with like concrete pillars on it.
00:53:03 So that was like the, I know where I could do it.
00:53:10 And that's a horrible thought process.
00:53:11 It was more like, that's it.
00:53:15 Cool.
00:53:16 Done.
00:53:17 I had a knock at my door at like, literally like three, four AM.
00:53:35 And it was Ethan's girlfriend at the time.
00:53:36 And she's telling me that he's been drinking and he's gone out and he's taken the car and
00:53:43 she doesn't know where he is.
00:53:44 He's not answering his phone.
00:53:45 And I'm like, I didn't know what to do really.
00:53:49 I like, what do I do?
00:53:50 Do I call the police and tell them my friend's drink driving?
00:53:53 Like I'm trying to ring his phone, find out where he is.
00:53:56 I was kind of just in a state of, I don't know, confusion, really.
00:54:02 I mean, at that point, you know, we're all fearing for one of our best friends lives
00:54:08 kind of thing.
00:54:11 I just broke down.
00:54:19 I just broke down and said, I can't do it, man.
00:54:22 I can't do it.
00:54:23 It's like a relief moment.
00:54:25 The crying on my friend is like a relief moment.
00:54:28 Like you can finally start getting across to someone that I'm so done, man.
00:54:34 I've reached my limit.
00:54:35 I need help.
00:54:36 And obviously that's, again, it comes with a pride thing.
00:54:39 You've got to be able to drop this pride, this act, this ego of thinking, oh, it will
00:54:44 get better.
00:54:45 I'll be all right.
00:54:46 It'll be fine.
00:54:47 I can get through it.
00:54:48 So just speak to people.
00:54:50 You have to do it.
00:54:51 You have to open up.
00:54:52 You have to speak to people.
00:54:53 Ethan's story made the friendship group a lot stronger because we're now more aware
00:55:00 of things going on.
00:55:02 Because before that, you hear about these things, but you're not really tuned in.
00:55:05 You don't actually think that it's going to be one of your friends that are going through
00:55:08 this.
00:55:09 So I think that was a big wake up call for everyone, honestly.
00:55:13 Ready?
00:55:14 Yes, bro.
00:55:15 All right, turn side up.
00:55:18 This way?
00:55:19 Yeah.
00:55:20 Here we go.
00:55:21 How big is Bazinga?
00:55:22 103.1 kg.
00:55:23 With Ethan, I was personally inspired by his journey.
00:55:33 He went through a lot of personal growth during that time.
00:55:38 And I think what's been really fundamental is his ability to be able to really be raw
00:55:45 with it.
00:55:46 Come on, come on.
00:55:47 Don't stop.
00:55:48 Don't stop.
00:55:49 Six, five, four, three, two, one.
00:55:50 Time.
00:55:51 Well done.
00:55:52 It's not a joke.
00:55:53 To see someone pull through that, and what we have seen in the past couple of years as
00:56:02 well, is that a lot of men don't get the support they need.
00:56:07 And I think to see that shows that the new generation have something relatable to look
00:56:13 at and see that if they were ever in that situation, there's always a way out.
00:56:17 Well, hello.
00:56:18 Welcome to 2019 on the Bazinga channel.
00:56:21 How are you?
00:56:22 I hope you're going to have a great year.
00:56:24 I messed up with my math, but hey, we're here.
00:56:27 Let's say Ethan got B again, right?
00:56:29 Don't worry, he is.
00:56:30 How do you feel now, though?
00:56:31 Because knowing that things have gone through as well.
00:56:34 Yeah, no, no, no.
00:56:36 I know he's gone through a lot of pizza.
00:56:49 I think it's like British culture at the same time as well.
00:56:52 Like we're brought up on bringing each other down.
00:56:55 You tease your mates.
00:56:56 Yeah, like, lad humor is that right?
00:56:58 Like guys.
00:56:59 That's so sad.
00:57:00 I'll tell you the difference, yeah?
00:57:02 Straight up as the person who it is.
00:57:04 You lot, I know at the end of the day, if someone come up to me and said the stuff that
00:57:08 you say, you'd say, no, no, no, no.
00:57:11 Yeah.
00:57:12 You say who you are.
00:57:13 So at the end of the day, again, it comes down to the YouTube audience thinking they
00:57:16 are one of your mates.
00:57:17 So the major problem from it came these random people.
00:57:21 Anywhere bro, JPS field playing football.
00:57:23 Fuck.
00:57:24 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:57:25 You don't even know me as a person, bro.
00:57:27 Yeah.
00:57:28 Our humour is now, everyone sees it and they think they're in on it.
00:57:31 They think they're in on it.
00:57:32 That's what I mean.
00:57:33 I was getting in real life.
00:57:35 I'd be anywhere, bro.
00:57:36 I'd be going somewhere.
00:57:37 Oh, you fat, whatever.
00:57:38 And it's like, what do you want me to do, bro?
00:57:39 Like laugh with you?
00:57:40 Because I'm not going to laugh with you.
00:57:41 I don't know you.
00:57:42 I don't know you, yeah.
00:57:43 You just met me and abused me.
00:57:44 Exactly.
00:57:45 That's true, yeah.
00:57:46 Imagine I come up to you and just went, you fat loser.
00:57:47 You'd be like, bro, shit like that.
00:57:48 Shit, yeah.
00:57:49 Now, as we're actually adults now.
00:57:50 Yeah.
00:57:51 I think when someone is clearly like not in the space that normally you're in or their
00:57:52 mindset normally in.
00:57:53 Yeah.
00:57:54 People don't really know you.
00:57:55 Yeah.
00:57:56 I think when someone is clearly like not in the space that normally you're in or their
00:58:00 mindset normally in.
00:58:01 Yeah.
00:58:02 People do even in group chats now, we'll just say like, everything all good?
00:58:05 Yeah, you're good.
00:58:06 Yeah.
00:58:07 And it can be simple one question, but that's what it means.
00:58:08 Yeah, yeah.
00:58:09 I think that's just like maturing, I think.
00:58:10 But also we grew up in a generation where mental health wasn't a thing that anyone talked
00:58:13 about.
00:58:14 At school, you wouldn't talk about it.
00:58:16 You'd never have like-
00:58:17 Not enough to talk.
00:58:18 We've never been taught any of this stuff.
00:58:20 And then we're dealing with millions of people watching us.
00:58:22 How do you teach someone to deal with all this?
00:58:24 Be like a mediator?
00:58:25 You don't, man.
00:58:26 You can't just stand in line and have really thin skin.
00:58:28 You got to be able to just realise.
00:58:29 We learned that quick.
00:58:30 Yeah, you got to be able to realise that this is part and parcel of broadcasting yourself.
00:58:33 Does anyone go to therapy or anything?
00:58:34 I've been to therapy.
00:58:35 I've done therapy.
00:58:36 Yeah.
00:58:37 When I went to therapy, I literally just spoke.
00:58:39 There's literally someone to listen to.
00:58:40 And as I'm talking and saying how I feel, I'm also processing it and understanding the
00:58:44 situation and then dealing with it.
00:58:46 Kind of like answering your own questions as well.
00:58:47 Basically.
00:58:48 In your head, you had your own struggles and questions.
00:58:49 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:58:50 So you find like benefit from therapy, right?
00:58:53 Yeah.
00:58:54 I think therapy was extremely helpful.
00:58:56 She kind of gave me the key to open all these doors and I was like, "Oh, wow."
00:59:00 I realised, "Oh, okay.
00:59:01 I now know what I want to do and how to get there and what's best for me."
00:59:08 And something as simple as saying no.
00:59:11 I've said no to so many things now because I'm like, "I don't have to say yes.
00:59:15 I don't have to always please people."
00:59:17 I think the reason why I would always say yes is because in my childhood, I would always
00:59:21 say yes to my parents.
00:59:23 No matter what.
00:59:24 If I didn't want to do it, I'd have to say yes because I'd get beat.
00:59:27 You know what I mean?
00:59:29 So now, I literally just say no and I understand I need time for myself to be able to do things.
00:59:35 Prioritising myself.
00:59:36 Yeah, exactly.
00:59:37 So we've all got better at the balancing act.
00:59:38 I think talking about your mental health has become a big part of online, especially because
00:59:43 people are starting to slowly understand that these people that you idolise and that aren't
00:59:46 normal people and they have real feelings.
00:59:49 [Sounds of a city]
00:59:52 We are here for our second physical Sides location launch.
01:00:11 First one is Box Park, Wembley.
01:00:13 This one is Gravity Onesworth, a place I am very fond of.
01:00:17 I've come here a couple of times in my own time to bowl electric go-kart.
01:00:21 But yeah, I've got a couple of supporters coming down to get some free food.
01:00:25 Free food always tastes better, by the way.
01:00:27 Always.
01:00:28 How are you?
01:00:29 I'm good, man.
01:00:30 How are you?
01:00:31 Good.
01:00:32 Good.
01:00:33 Good.
01:00:34 If you're not learning, you're not living.
01:00:35 That's a good one.
01:00:36 That's a good saying, isn't it?
01:00:37 I came up with that today.
01:00:38 Why are you shaking your head?
01:00:39 That's not your favourite saying.
01:00:40 I dashed this at your head.
01:00:41 What's your favourite saying?
01:00:42 Live like others can't, so in time you can live like others won't.
01:00:44 Live like others can't.
01:00:45 Wrong way round.
01:00:46 Wrong way round, by the way.
01:00:47 You said that way, didn't you?
01:00:48 Did I say it?
01:00:49 Live like others can't.
01:00:50 Honestly, we could do that also.
01:00:51 Next time, just don't be poor.
01:00:52 That's what you just said, bro.
01:00:53 You said live like others can't.
01:00:54 I'm going to say it again now.
01:00:55 Live like others won't, so in time you can live like others can't.
01:00:56 You put in the word, and you live like others can't.
01:00:57 You put in the word, and you live like others can't.
01:00:58 You put in the word, and you live like others can't.
01:00:59 You put in the word, and you live like others can't.
01:01:00 You put in the word, and you live like others can't.
01:01:23 These waffle fries are incredible, by the way.
01:01:25 I'm not even chatting.
01:01:26 Can I swear?
01:01:27 I can swear.
01:01:28 I'm not even chatting shit.
01:01:29 Do you want a waffle fry?
01:01:30 No, but seriously, does anyone want any food?
01:01:31 This is fucking incredible.
01:01:32 Yeah, I guess you'd like it out.
01:01:33 Literally, everyone's looking at us.
01:01:34 I get so paranoid.
01:01:35 What, are they surprised?
01:01:36 That's a lot of people.
01:01:37 Holy shit.
01:01:38 There's a whole band around here.
01:01:39 It's this incredible moment where you get the real world manifestation of those likes,
01:01:51 those comments, those views, and you realize just how powerful this incredible content
01:01:56 and publishing machine the boys have created really is.
01:02:10 The Sidemen, they've inspired me since I was like eight years old.
01:02:14 I've been watching them for a long time.
01:02:15 They're just fun to watch.
01:02:17 They make videos on different types of topics, and they're just fun.
01:02:21 They're just the gold.
01:02:23 They're just the gold of the whole scene, the whole YouTube scene.
01:02:30 They're just those type of content creators that just put a smile on my face.
01:02:35 I literally look so forward to watching their videos every day.
01:02:38 Watching Sidemen videos, obviously it's all banter and jokes, but then there's also lessons
01:02:42 that you learn.
01:02:43 You see the friendship, the teamwork, the whole communication.
01:02:47 They always have this little fun side to them, so I want to follow that too.
01:02:50 To us, we're messing around, we're having fun with our friends, we're creating content,
01:03:18 we're doing something cool.
01:03:19 It's cool for us.
01:03:21 You also sometimes forget that for someone else, that's their escape from reality, or
01:03:26 that's the thing that's going to get them through the day.
01:03:29 That really comes to light when you speak to some of these supporters.
01:03:32 I feel like the biggest thing that separates us from a lot of creators is people really
01:03:38 connect to us as a friendship group.
01:03:40 A lot of them say they feel like they're the eighth member.
01:03:51 To be honest, he's one of the nicest people I know in life.
01:03:55 Not even just in the Sidemen, he's one of the nicest people I know, point blank.
01:03:57 In his nature, he's kind.
01:03:59 In his day-to-day life, he's just kind.
01:04:02 He always thinks of the nicest thing possible.
01:04:05 It makes me feel like my parents raised me right, but it's also just the way I am.
01:04:12 I've always been that way.
01:04:13 I don't know any kind of other way to be.
01:04:17 I have nothing but the utmost respect for both my parents.
01:04:21 My dad was working three jobs at a point.
01:04:23 He'd go out at night, I wouldn't see him during the day because he'd be sleeping and I'd be
01:04:27 at school and whatnot.
01:04:29 Or he'd be working another job, his second job, his third job.
01:04:33 I've always got a joy from helping other people.
01:04:36 I love this guy.
01:04:38 I like to see the people around me happy.
01:04:40 It makes me feel happy.
01:04:41 I came up in your eyes, Simon.
01:04:42 Oh!
01:04:43 How do you feel?
01:04:44 A million likes.
01:04:45 What?
01:04:46 All right, cut the video, man.
01:04:47 In the position I'm in now, to be able to help my family when they need it or my friends
01:04:56 when they need it or complete strangers when they need it sometimes, it feels like I'm
01:05:00 contributing something to the world.
01:05:20 Since the George Floyd incident, my mind has been going nonstop.
01:05:25 I've been struggling.
01:05:32 You're tired of hearing about our racist experiences?
01:05:36 Imagine, imagine how tired we are of experiencing it.
01:05:41 Imagine.
01:05:42 And I'm one of the lucky ones.
01:05:45 I'm one of the fucking lucky...
01:05:46 I'm so blessed, you lot.
01:05:48 I can't tell you how fucking blessed I am.
01:06:02 It was heartbreaking to see Toby like that, because Toby is always bubbly.
01:06:07 So to see him in that kind of mood and, you know, talking about this kind of stuff, I
01:06:12 remember, like, trying not to shed a tear watching Toby on the stream.
01:06:16 It might have been a moment when he actually realized, this stuff happens to me, you know,
01:06:20 similar and I've never spoken about it.
01:06:22 And now the whole world's talking about it when it's ended fatally.
01:06:26 So maybe, you know, it was a good time to share.
01:06:28 It doesn't surprise me.
01:06:29 Toby will speak his mind when he wants to speak his mind.
01:06:32 If I tell you the amount of shit that I've been through, you wouldn't believe it.
01:06:37 Imagine the unlucky ones.
01:06:39 Imagine the ones that are dying at the hands of these...
01:06:43 I ain't want to call them humans because they're not human, man.
01:06:46 They don't act human.
01:06:47 They don't.
01:06:48 They fucking don't.
01:06:55 I'm so sorry for breaking down.
01:06:56 I really didn't want to break down.
01:06:58 I really, really tried to compose myself.
01:07:00 I've lost my shit, man.
01:07:03 The response that I got from that was amazing.
01:07:05 Yeah, that's just one example of me talking about something serious and it having an impact.
01:07:10 But it's in my nature to talk about that stuff because I guess I kind of wear my heart on
01:07:14 my sleeve.
01:07:15 I don't want to show my emotions or how I feel about certain things.
01:07:18 I share my feelings with my audience because that's how they connect to me.
01:07:22 That's how they view you as a human.
01:07:23 Oh God, first player off the bus.
01:07:48 Come on.
01:07:49 Let's go!
01:07:50 We've actually just flown in from Singapore to catch this match because we've been Sidemen
01:08:09 fans for a really long time.
01:08:10 So, yeah, it's pretty exciting for us.
01:08:12 USA.
01:08:13 New Mexico, USA.
01:08:14 Essex.
01:08:15 So, Northern Essex.
01:08:16 Sidemen Sunday.
01:08:17 Every Sunday.
01:08:18 Telegoats.
01:08:19 Straight up.
01:08:20 Straight on to YouTube.
01:08:21 After a stressful week, you've got Sidemen Sunday coming.
01:08:24 You can eat a takeaway, put it on, and you'll just be like escaped from the world and just
01:08:29 have a laugh.
01:08:30 And we always watch it every week.
01:08:32 I've just watched them for so long and they're just so creative in what they do.
01:08:36 Every video is just amazing.
01:08:37 I love the one where the Sidemen became parents for 24 hours.
01:08:38 That's one of my favorites.
01:08:39 Personally, I'm here to see Mini Menta and KSI.
01:08:40 Well, for him, he's more of a Sidemen fan, but for me, I'm actually here for Speed.
01:08:53 From the YouTube All Stars, I really love Speed.
01:08:56 So yeah, I'm really hoping he'll score quite a few goals today.
01:08:59 I'm going to go.
01:09:01 I'm going to go.
01:09:03 Let's see how high he can go.
01:09:06 Oh!
01:09:07 Oh!
01:09:08 Oh!
01:09:09 Oh!
01:09:10 - Yo.
01:09:11 (laughter)
01:09:11 - Oh my God, look at the man.
01:09:12 - Oh, oh my God, look!
01:09:14 (crowd chattering)
01:09:17 - We've got Chris who's joined our side.
01:09:20 - Come on.
01:09:21 - You know, team, you've been getting a bit of flack.
01:09:22 - Yeah, it wasn't even my decision.
01:09:24 - No, it was actually our decision
01:09:25 to bring Chris over to what we believe
01:09:28 is balancing out the teams.
01:09:29 Whether we've done that or not, who knows?
01:09:31 - Yeah, well, it's always so difficult to tell,
01:09:33 'cause there's loads of people
01:09:34 that you've just never seen play--
01:09:35 - Yes.
01:09:36 - On a PUBLIC LEAGUE before.
01:09:37 - Exactly.
01:09:38 - We definitely rigged it for them.
01:09:39 - I've never played soccer, football, whatever.
01:09:41 - Good for me, there you have it.
01:09:41 - I have no idea what I'm doing.
01:09:43 So, if it was even, you just handed me.
01:09:46 (laughter)
01:09:48 (crowd cheering)
01:09:51 - P-Ball!
01:09:51 - Yes!
01:09:52 - Football!
01:09:53 - Let's go!
01:09:54 (crowd chattering)
01:09:57 (team cheering)
01:10:00 (team chattering)
01:10:05 (team chattering)
01:10:08 (team chattering)
01:10:11 (team chattering)
01:10:14 (dramatic music)
01:10:38 - In the match in 2022,
01:10:40 the match sold out within one evening.
01:10:43 It would have sold out immediately,
01:10:45 but we broke the servers when tickets went on sale.
01:10:47 There was 170,000 people trying to buy tickets.
01:10:51 - It's the first charity match we've done in four years.
01:10:54 It's the first event that we've had as a group
01:10:57 since before the pandemic.
01:10:58 (team chattering)
01:11:01 Where we've got to be with such a large amount
01:11:05 of our audience.
01:11:06 (team chattering)
01:11:09 - Here they are, then the crowd starting
01:11:12 to welcome these players.
01:11:13 It's getting really lively here in the Valley.
01:11:15 1.3 million people watching right now.
01:11:19 - It's exciting.
01:11:20 We might have two, three, four million people
01:11:22 watching it at once.
01:11:23 - Oh, it's unbelievable.
01:11:24 Those numbers are simply sensational.
01:11:26 (whistle blows)
01:11:31 - Here we go.
01:11:32 Castro takes it quickly.
01:11:33 Remember, he scored his goal,
01:11:34 I think in the first two minutes.
01:11:35 - Yeah.
01:11:36 (crowd cheering)
01:11:39 - This is not gonna be a nice game.
01:11:41 - Speed is celebrating.
01:11:42 First blood has gone to Speed.
01:11:44 - It's what we're gonna see today.
01:11:45 It's little battles all around the pitch.
01:11:47 - Chunks is gonna hit one here, Steven.
01:11:49 He's hit one.
01:11:50 Wide face.
01:11:50 (team cheering)
01:11:52 - Oh, it's worked.
01:11:54 - Take a foul, Chunks.
01:11:56 - We're still going in for the YouTube All-Stars.
01:11:57 Could be a chance for Nick Novolana.
01:12:00 It's in.
01:12:01 It's in.
01:12:02 It's two-nil to the All-Star.
01:12:03 - We'd always said all we want is goals.
01:12:06 Even if we lost 8-5, we just want goals.
01:12:08 - Simon, can you get it to Vic?
01:12:09 He's through.
01:12:10 Chunks is hitting Vic.
01:12:12 Go for the side, man.
01:12:13 Yeah!
01:12:14 (team cheering)
01:12:17 - Everything became a little bit poetic.
01:12:19 We were back on track.
01:12:21 Morale was up.
01:12:21 The stadium was happy.
01:12:23 And we were set for a good game.
01:12:26 - Kofi left off to Simon.
01:12:27 One, two.
01:12:28 It's gotta be a goal.
01:12:29 Oh, and in!
01:12:30 - Two, two.
01:12:31 - What a game.
01:12:32 Tits the shot.
01:12:32 - Oh my God.
01:12:33 (team cheering)
01:12:36 - Instantly, we're like,
01:12:36 "Okay, well this game is already a classic.
01:12:38 "It's already amazing."
01:12:39 - Oh, we did it!
01:12:40 - We did it!
01:12:41 - What a game!
01:12:42 You can't take your eyes off it.
01:12:44 - Oh, Gisle.
01:12:45 Outside the front.
01:12:46 What a ball that is!
01:12:47 Oh, wow!
01:12:48 (team cheering)
01:12:49 Wow!
01:12:50 - We could be going to penalties here.
01:12:51 Seven apiece.
01:12:52 - Hang on.
01:12:53 Hang on!
01:12:54 Oh!
01:12:54 - Oh, that's good!
01:12:56 - Benny Minter gets his hand trick.
01:12:58 And what a way to seal it.
01:13:00 - The referee is gonna put the whistle to his lips.
01:13:03 And it's all over!
01:13:04 - It's 45-87.
01:13:05 One of the best games we've seen on YouTube.
01:13:11 (team cheering)
01:13:14 - I'd love to have gone to penalties
01:13:16 just for how much of a spectacle that would have been.
01:13:18 But at the same time,
01:13:19 I mean, I'm not gonna complain about scoring a winner
01:13:21 in front of two and a half million people, am I?
01:13:24 (team cheering)
01:13:26 - It has been absolutely fascinating
01:13:31 and heartwarming to see how much this match
01:13:35 has been discussed
01:13:36 and how much the content of people discussing the match
01:13:40 has trended.
01:13:41 And even if you look at the number of concurrent viewers
01:13:44 they had on that match,
01:13:45 that probably surpasses the concurrent views
01:13:48 on huge events that we have,
01:13:51 like the Champions League final,
01:13:53 like the funeral of the queen.
01:13:55 You know, those numbers are absolutely staggering.
01:13:59 (team cheering)
01:14:02 - So far, it's 1,074,311.
01:14:08 - I don't think we ever really understood
01:14:17 how big this one was gonna be.
01:14:19 So to be able to say,
01:14:20 we've raised over a million pounds for charity,
01:14:23 is absolutely gigantic.
01:14:24 And that goes to really good charities
01:14:26 and good to have a charity partner on board
01:14:28 that is one of the group.
01:14:30 - We're trying to organise some events for this coming year
01:14:33 to raise money for M7 education.
01:14:34 So if you guys do wanna know more about M7,
01:14:36 I'll stop talking about it now,

01:14:40 and you guys can go check it out
01:14:42 and donate if you want to.
01:14:44 Just know you're a horrible person if you don't.
01:14:46 - So my brother worked at a bunch of schools
01:14:51 that couldn't afford to go on school trips.
01:14:53 So I'd always said to him,
01:14:55 I wanna start a charity.
01:14:56 I think when you get into a position
01:14:58 where you can do some good,
01:14:59 you should use it.
01:15:00 - So M7, for those that don't know,
01:15:01 we find schools that are in areas
01:15:05 where the students might not be able to afford
01:15:07 to go on school trips
01:15:08 and have these sort of educational experiences.
01:15:10 And it's all funded through you.
01:15:13 And as of last week,
01:15:16 I'm pretty certain I can say,
01:15:18 got charity status.
01:15:19 - Let's go on a little charity.
01:15:20 - For me, it was always the thing of,
01:15:22 when I went to school,
01:15:23 I was lucky enough to go on a lot of school trips.
01:15:24 So I always remember those
01:15:26 way more than the rest of the school year.
01:15:28 - So we signed up like over a thousand students
01:15:30 between now and July to go on school trips,
01:15:32 which is pretty awesome.
01:15:33 - Being able to give however many kids a year
01:15:40 the chance to go on those school trips
01:15:41 and make their own memories
01:15:43 is, seemed like a no brainer for me and my brother.
01:15:45 - The misconception about Simon is that
01:15:53 he always tells me he's self-conscious
01:15:55 or he's not sure that he has something.
01:15:58 So like Josh has got like his clothing brand,
01:15:59 JJ has got his music.
01:16:00 Simon's always asking like,
01:16:01 what's his?
01:16:02 But his is just hard work and consistency.
01:16:04 He like posts about six videos a day
01:16:07 on about 15 different channels.
01:16:09 He's just like relentless with it.
01:16:11 So every day, nonstop, hard work, determination.
01:16:13 He never misses a day.
01:16:14 He never misses the content.
01:16:16 So he just works super, super hard
01:16:17 and he just deserves credit for that.
01:16:18 - Yo, what's going on?
01:16:20 Welcome to another Reddit video.
01:16:21 That's right.
01:16:22 I am posting videos.
01:16:24 Remember my favorite post or comment will win $1,000.
01:16:28 - He's stubborn with like,
01:16:29 his work ethic has never changed.
01:16:31 It's always been like,
01:16:32 well, we need to get this done and that's that.
01:16:33 Like he run the More Simon channel for years
01:16:36 without him being on that channel
01:16:37 and taking responsibility for it.
01:16:39 I don't think he is where it is today.
01:16:41 So his stubbornness pays off for him
01:16:43 because he has the right mindset about things.
01:16:45 And when he's made a decision, he's made a decision.
01:16:48 So it's not a bad stubborn Simon.
01:16:50 When you do see this, it's a good stubborn.
01:16:52 You're good.
01:16:54 - I don't know how Simon does it, man.

01:19:08 You'll get a lot of great concepts
01:19:09 and a great video and great views,

01:19:12 So in the current climate,
01:19:13 there's not many channels like ours

01:19:38 We've got a lot of systems in place

01:19:47 - Run!
01:19:49 - If someone's like 15 minutes late for a shoot,
01:19:51 then that means that they're gonna get a yellow card.
01:19:54 - I remember at one point,
01:19:56 it being a frustration of me and Simon being
01:19:58 that certain people would do less than others.
01:20:02 And I knew that I'm a control freak.
01:20:04 So I'm an enabler.
01:20:05 So I allow people to do nothing because I'll do the work.
01:20:09 So that's kind of like where

01:20:12 - The card system, it holds people responsible.
01:20:16 That's what it does.
01:20:17 If you're half an hour late to a real life shoot,

01:21:12 There's no one wants a yellow card
01:21:13 because it just means you have to do more work.
01:21:15 - I know, but it's just like,
01:21:17 that's what you're not saying.
01:21:18 - All right, all right, calm, calm, all right, all right.
01:21:20 - When it was introduced, it was like quite alien to people.
01:21:23 I think when you talk about it to people
01:21:24 who haven't heard of it before,
01:21:25 it seems like there's someone at the top,
01:21:26 like a puppeteer across all of us, controlling us.

01:21:58 and we have a sentence that rules all.
01:22:01 The majority decides.
01:22:03 - I think it's nice to have a voting system
01:22:05 and then for it not to become an emotional debate.
01:22:07 It's just like, it got voted, I was outvoted,
01:22:10 fine, let's proceed as you guys think best.
