00:00 So my name's Louise, I'm a shop manager for St Barnabas Hospice charity shops. I run the
00:11 two shops in Skegness. We're in our Drummond Road shop today and we also have a shop down
00:16 Lumley Road.
00:17 Now, we've come along because you've got a special appeal, haven't you?
00:23 We have. We would like to appeal to the lovely local residents of Skegness and the towns
00:29 and the villages around, asking if we could possibly find some more volunteers to help
00:35 us in our two shops here.
00:37 Now, what kind of work would that entail?
00:41 There's various different roles, depending on what you're happy doing and what you're
00:45 comfortable with. We have till work, we have sorting stock out that comes in donated from
00:52 residents around here, steaming. So there's various different things that people are able
00:57 to put their skills towards.
01:00 Now, it's all for a good cause, isn't it? Can you explain what the St Barnabas charity
01:04 is all about?
01:05 So, St Barnabas Hospice is a local county-based charity. We're very proud of our charity.
01:11 We help support over 12,000 people within the county each year. We have inpatient units
01:19 where we have end of life care and we also have nurses that go out to residents' homes
01:25 and look after them within their own home setting as well.
01:29 So you look like you've got a well-stocked shop, but how about donations? Do you need
01:33 more donations too?
01:35 Donations are always welcome. That's how we keep our shop running, that's how we help
01:38 our lovely nurses and all the other people that help the hospice run. So yes, donations
01:45 are always gladly accepted, either at Drummond Road or Lumley Road.
01:49 Now, for anyone who's interested in volunteering, how would they go about it?
01:53 They can either walk into the shop at Drummond Road or Lumley Road and speak to whoever's
01:57 behind the till. We have volunteer torms they can take away with them and fill out a few
02:02 details or they can look on our hospice webpage and they will see details on how to apply.
