Check out the Mother, Couch trailer, an upcoming film starring Ewan McGregor & Academy-award winner Ellen Burstyn, Taylor Russell, Lara Flynn Boyle, Rhys Ifans, Lake Bell and Academy-award winner F. Murray Abraham. Mother, Couch is based on the book Mamma I Soffa by Jerker Virdborg.

The members of a dysfunctional family find themselves mysteriously trapped in an antiquated furniture store when their elderly matriarch (Ellen Burstyn) suddenly refuses to get up from one of the display couches. Reluctantly assembled, her three estranged children – David (Ewan McGregor), Gruffudd (Rhys Ifans), and Linda (Lara Flynn Boyle) – must figure out how to escape this bizarre predicament. With the help of the store managers, Marco & Marcus (F. Murray Abraham), and their daughter Bella (Taylor Russell) the siblings embark on a mind-bending odyssey that forces them to face life-altering truths about their own lives and upbringing.

Written by and directorial debut of Niclas Larsson, Producers include Ella Bishop and Pau Suris for Suris/Bishop Films, Alex Black for Lyrical Media, and Sara Murphy for Fat City. Executive producers are Jon Rosenberg and Natalie Sellers under their Lyrical Media banner, Ryan Zacarias for Fat City, McGregor, and David Harari. Mother, Couch was made in co-production with Film i Vast and Snowglobe.

Mother, Couch opens in theaters in New York (Angelika Film Center) on July 5 and Los Angeles (Landmark Nuart) on July 12.
