00:02 - I never heard of beach patrol,
00:07 so when Luke brang it up it was a bit of a surprise.
00:09 I work out at Snap Fitness Warrnambool
00:11 and I was just doing my workout
00:13 and I got chatting to Luke.
00:15 He was just telling me about this big piece of rope
00:17 he's got down at the beach.
00:18 I thought, "Oh, this will be all right.
00:19 It's not that big," but it was actually pretty heavy.

00:23 - I was kind of lulled into a false sense of security
00:27 'cause it buried itself.
00:29 It seemed a lot smaller than what it actually was
00:31 and until we started digging it out,
00:32 I didn't realize how big it was.
00:34 - Chopped it up into four big chunks
00:38 and all shared a load and yeah,
00:41 made the trek back through two kilometers of sand.
00:44 - It was definitely one of the hardest things
00:45 I've ever done in my life, to be honest.
00:47 - So I sort of shifted the rope across my body
00:50 as I was going to ease the load on my back a little bit.
00:52 So spent some time with it on one shoulder,
00:54 on my head, other shoulder,
00:56 carrying it like way up high on my chest,
00:59 using my arms to get underneath it as well.
01:01 One point I was walking backwards and dragging it
01:03 one arm at a time.
01:04 - I thought it was gonna be easier, to be honest.
01:06 I might've been a bit naive to think that.
01:08 Even before the halfway mark, I was struggling myself.
01:11 But it helped just watching the others keep going as well.
01:14 So I think we all pushed each other.
01:16 - It's definitely a great opportunity
01:17 and definitely something that I wanna incorporate
01:19 into my training more too.
