00:00 Have you booked a holiday this year? And just how much are you planning to spend? A recent
00:07 survey has uncovered Brits' holiday spending intentions for this year, and 64% of us are
00:12 making going on at least one trip in 2024 a priority. On average, we're set to spend
00:17 around £1,250 per person on breaks before the year is out, and nearly half of us start
00:23 saving the cash as soon as we're back from our last trip. All the getaways can add up,
00:28 especially as household budgets are continuing to be tightened as costs rise. But apparently,
00:33 it's not putting us off. Just the opposite, in fact. Almost a quarter of us are travelling
00:37 more than we did five years ago. Beachside breaks win the popularity contest, closely
00:42 followed by city getaways, but spa and wellness trips and cultural tours also make the sought-after
00:47 list. Nick Moran from M&S Travel Money & Insurance, which commissioned the research, said "It's
00:52 great to know that we're a nation of planners, spending more time than ever before to make
00:56 sure we have the best holiday possible." When you're in that planning stage, what's
01:00 your best money-saving tip for booking holidays?
01:03 Thank you.
