00:00 The Philippine Coast Guard is monitoring the deployment of its civilian mission to Panatag, Shol.
00:05 And we have on the spot, Joseph Moro.
00:08 Joseph!
00:10 Raffy, good afternoon!
00:14 From here in the West Philippine Sea, our location is 14 nautical miles
00:19 or 25 kilometers away from Masinlok, Zambales
00:23 where our contingent came from.
00:26 At 200 kilometers or more than 100 nautical miles from Scarborough
00:32 where the Chinese forces are stationed.
00:36 Now, Raffy, our contingent will only arrive at our location around 10 o'clock.
00:44 And what our countrymen are seeing now
00:47 is a part of a 100-strong Philippine fishermen
00:52 who are with our convoy to show that this part of the West Philippine Sea is in the Philippines
01:01 and no one else can benefit from these rich seas but the Filipinos.
01:07 Like what you mentioned earlier, Raffy, they will lay a buoy
01:12 to symbolically show that this place is still inside our Exclusive Economic Zone.
01:23 And aside from that, the group will also distribute gasoline and supplies
01:30 for the fishermen here.
01:35 And it's not a coincidence that our countrymen are having a hard time
01:40 especially here in Zambales
01:44 being able to enter Masinlok or Scarborough Shoal
01:48 because of the Chinese forces.
01:50 After distributing supplies and laying a buoy,
01:56 the 100 fishermen will return.
01:59 And the four or five, five large boats that we are holding
02:04 will push closer to Masinlok.
02:07 We have information that says
02:11 that there are Chinese ships there that are blockaded.
02:15 But we will see if the Chinese group will push
02:21 these five large boats that we are carrying
02:25 to get closer to there.
02:28 According to the Coast Guard, this is not a government sanction.
02:31 It means that the government has nothing to do with this group's civilian mission.
02:36 But they are still there to provide assistance if necessary.
02:42 Joseph, are you with the people going to Bahaudi Masinlok,
02:45 those small boats?
02:48 Because we know from our experience that
02:51 those should be in the mother boat
02:53 when they are ready to go to Panatag Shoal.
02:56 But will they be able to sail those small boats?
02:59 No.
03:02 These small boats that are distributed by the buoy and the supply
03:08 are what our group told us will return.
03:11 But the four large boats,
03:13 as you can see from the camera,
03:16 this one and the two behind it,
03:18 those will push closer to Bahaudi Masinlok.
03:23 We just don't know how close.
03:27 We will see because based on the satellite images,
03:32 some of the forces of China's Coast Guard
03:36 are at 60 nautical miles away from Scarborough.
03:43 If you look at the reference and the plan
03:46 of where these large boats will go,
03:49 we might be able to see the forces of the Coast Guard.
03:56 But it will happen tomorrow morning
04:01 because that's the schedule
04:03 that we will be there closer to Bahaudi by tomorrow.
04:06 We'll be waiting for that.
04:07 Thank you very much and take care.
04:09 Joseph Morong.
