00:03In Austria, there's that and good news,

00:06because it's easier to apply for a job there

00:10because of this agreement in the Philippines for skilled workers.

00:14Dano Tingkung got it right.

00:18With a 8-year experience as a nurse in Saudi Arabia,

00:23Lin Joy will go abroad again.

00:25But more than earning, she's looking for the work-life balance

00:28that there is in Austria.

00:31In my previous job, though I'm very thankful,

00:3412 hours, duty per day, and sometimes 12 days.

00:40I was on duty straight away.

00:42But in Austria, they prioritize the well-being of every person.

00:47She accepted, and it looks like there are many Filipinos

00:51because of the aggressive hiring of Austria to Filipinos.

00:54From more than P124,000, the salary of skilled workers there is equivalent

01:01to more than P370,000 if you're an IT professional or engineer.

01:07You can be a permanent resident and access healthcare and other social services there.

01:12Even your relatives can work there.

01:15There's a strong need for nurses, geriatric nurses, nursing assistants,

01:20as well as information technology workers and construction workers,

01:25healthcare workers, health professionals,

01:27and legal, social, cultural, and related associate professionals.

01:32The level of education and overall work ethic of Filipino professionals

01:37are evidently very high,

01:40which is why they are particularly sought after by Austrian employers.

01:46The Philippines is the first country to have an agreement with Austria

01:49for clearer rules on hiring and protecting skilled workers.

01:54The President has already ratified it.

01:56We are a very high-developed economy in Austria.

02:02But we are facing another problem.

02:04We have a shortage of labor.

02:06And that's the reason and the way why we set up this Memorandum of Understanding in October.

02:14What will unfold in the coming days are further talks in terms of the process.
