00:00You met your husband, Richard, when he was a guest star on Designing Women.
00:07Is it true that you told the other women on the show, hands off?
00:14No, no.
00:15I didn't say hands off.
00:16Everybody was all very friendly.
00:17I was very forward.
00:18I don't know why I wasn't usually like that.
00:21But we just kind of bonded instantly.
00:24We were never apart from that day.
00:26Three years ago, your husband, Richard, passed away from heart condition.
00:35How devastating was that for you and for your children?
00:42The worst, the worst.
00:46Because it was such a shock.
00:47It was so unexpected.
00:48I thought he had COVID or something.
00:52The places I took him to, to get him tested, didn't do anything except a COVID test.
01:03After he passed away, I went back to one of those places and I asked to see who was in
01:09charge that day.
01:10I said, let me ask you something.
01:12I said, if I brought my 71-year-old husband in here who was complaining of pain, we would
01:18take deep breaths.
01:19I said, what would you do for him?
01:21He said, well, the first thing we'd do is an EKG.
01:23I said, he died last week, why didn't you do that?
01:28Have you, I mean, obviously you're not over it, you're never over it, but have you found
01:32a way to put it into perspective and move on?
01:38Yes, just this year.
01:40It's been three years, which sometimes I cannot even believe.
01:47It's just, it's different than losing, I mean, losing a parent is different, I've lost
01:53a sibling, that's a different, whole different experience.
01:57Losing your mate of 35 years, I mean, literally half my life I lived with him, is just kind
02:09of indescribable.
02:11You go through this period of thinking it's just not real.
02:14It's just, this isn't real, you know, this just doesn't make any sense.
