00:00 Welcome to Portugal, welcome to Porto Maio and welcome to something very very
00:05 different and although this is a prototype the end bike will go in
00:10 production this is KTM's new 990 RCR a bike in many ways that people like me
00:16 have been screaming out for because we've got great 600s and great 200
00:19 horsepower bikes but kind of nothing in the middle but Stefano because this bike
00:24 is so exclusive and you only showed us it last night at dinner please tell us a
00:28 little bit more so let's let's start with the engine so that's the new 990
00:32 that we see in the Duke is that correct? Yeah it's a rehash of that engine it's
00:35 our 950cc platform that we started developing in KTM and now it's finalized
00:40 but with this bike we increased the power and we ended up at 128 horsepower
00:44 so 5 horsepower more than the 990 Duke. Cool and then in terms of torque? Torque
00:50 we keep the value that we had so 103 newton meter of torque and that's the
00:54 combination that we find out that on the racetrack and the street that works in
00:59 the perfect way it's the right match that the customer is looking for as you
01:03 said before Adam between this 1000cc motorbike and the lower level. And in
01:08 terms of chassis obviously because it's KTM it's gonna have WP fully adjustable
01:12 front fully adjustable rear high and low speed compression? Exactly
01:16 yeah high and low speed compression on the shock as you mentioned fully
01:19 adjustable for the shock WP our technology apex and also WP in the front
01:25 with compression rebound and preload adjuster. In terms of electronics? In
01:30 terms of electronics we are not displaying in the bike now but we will
01:33 have a new dashboard complete as you know yeah a new product for KTM that
01:37 will be quite a landscape point of view between 7 and 8 inch of dimension and
01:42 there you will have the customer will have a complete new experience in terms
01:46 of immersion into the street and the track oriented. And in terms of styling
01:51 and bodywork is this pretty I mean it's gonna be a 25 bike is that correct so
01:56 this is pretty close to? Yeah let's say we try to hide a bit the shapes but a
02:01 part that is really interesting is the tank area yeah as we mentioned we have
02:05 different holding points specifically six that we will go through later but
02:09 basically the tank shape want to help the rider in supporting him during the
02:13 higher maneuver so basically it's not just the design part is not completely
02:17 routed yeah but want really to support the rider during the action. Cool and
02:22 unlike the the 890 that was like Kramer partnership that was just a race bike
02:29 that was limited numbers correct this is going to be a production road bike made
02:33 in Austria exactly and they'll be alongside it assist the race version
02:37 that correct? Exactly that's logic the 990 RCR is a street homologated
02:41 product that run out. Non-limited numbers just go to showroom. Directly
02:47 serial production and then on the side of the 990 RC are street homologated we
02:51 have the 990 RCR track model that also for that motorbike it will be produced
02:56 with no pre-order and no specific partnership but just KTM 100%
03:02 production in Maxiwood. Cool cool and then the racing program the we touched on a
03:08 little bit last night regarding World Super Sport is that correct when when
03:12 when can we see it actually in action against other bikes in this class?
03:17 World Super Sport is not planned yet we are developing let's say according to the
03:21 specification that we have in different championship but basically the logic is
03:24 that we are still developing the bike the bike is not finalized yet and you
03:28 will see the bike in the next month between VSB IDM some
03:31 European championship again because we are still taking the best out of it the
03:36 bike has to be tested on the racetrack for us to perform perfectly it's not
03:40 enough just to take the standard testing inside KTM. Okay and finally and probably
03:46 the most important question when do I get to ride it? Sooner, sooner, sooner.
03:52 I'm blown away I mean I think it looks stunning after riding the 890 I know the
03:58 track performance of that bike and if this is that again then I can't wait to
04:03 ride it but can we keep this paintwork I like that. New CTG variant, forever bike.
04:09 Okay thanks for your time mate I really appreciate it. Cheers mate and don't forget give me the
04:13 ring when you need the test ride. McWilliams is too old now just get rid of it.
04:16 Thank you. Thank you.
