00:00Hello Rossoneri and welcome to Casa Milan Studios, we are ready for a new weekly episode
00:23of our AC Milan talk with all the goings on of our favourite club, both on and off the
00:29pitch as always, but let's start saying hello to my two guests, welcome to Adriano Del Monte,
00:35hi Adriano, how are you?
00:36Hello Licia, very well, after a big win we're always very well.
00:38Of course, and welcome also to Sheridan Verde, hi Sheridan, how are you?
00:42Hello there, I'm very well, hello Adriano, let's get going.
00:46So guys, let's start because there are plenty of talking points here at AC Milan, so let's
00:51start with our men's first team.
01:00Five-star show at San Siro for our Rossoneri against Claudio Ranieri's Cagliari, a very
01:06important victory, three full points with a 5-1 as a final result, so many important
01:12and positive notes and many protagonists on the pitch Adriano.
01:15Many, many goals, a lot of action, the weather was warming up, it was a good return to form
01:20and obviously to score five goals.
01:22As we get towards these last few matches of the season, it's plenty to take away from
01:26these remaining features that we'll take into the summer and into preparations for
01:30next season of course.
01:32A big win, 5-1 at home, one of the remaining opportunities for the fans to get a close
01:38look of the players and to do it in the style and you mentioned many protagonists as well,
01:43obviously some goal scorers there returning to form and you can see now second place Sheridan,
01:48mathematically confirmed.
01:49Only a couple of matches to go, so look it's a good time, 74 points.
01:54Look, I think when you look at the season and how it's played out, the fact that 80
01:59points is a target, it's a fair achievement, it's a solid season.
02:04So when we reflect and we will in our remaining shows, there have been difficult moments this
02:09season for the club but to come away with near 80 points in a Serie A season is a great
02:13effort, so I think there's still plenty to take away and another strong performance last
02:17weekend.
02:18A big excellent performance also considering the second place topic.
02:23It was good, it was a great afternoon, it brought a few smiles back to the faces of
02:27fans after a difficult few months, we know that, but to score five goals as Adriano says
02:32is always an excellent achievement.
02:34The attack really functioned well and it was just, like I say, it was a bit of joy, something
02:40for the fans to really cherish really because it was a really powerful attacking performance,
02:46five goals, what we call a super poker, super poker in Italian, when the teams score four
02:53or five goals.
02:54Rafa Leal looked really good, Christian Pulisic looked really impressive, the team looked
02:59hungry, the team looked happy.
03:01When you enjoy your football you play well and often when you play well you win, so it
03:05was a really good afternoon.
03:07And some of these finishes, spectacular as well, the build up play, the players were
03:11enjoying themselves, Leal for me was at his best again.
03:14There's just so many positives to take away from a team.
03:17You see they've been a serve and Leal and just so many protagonists in this match, making
03:22it look easy, it's far from easy.
03:24So, and I love this as well, having fun, enjoying it and this is a team that when they are enjoying
03:30their football they're absolutely playing at their best and you feel it when you're
03:33at San Siro, when you're in the stands and this is why we see moments like this and another
03:39fine performance by Pioli's men.
03:41Yeah, exactly.
03:42It's just about enjoying yourself, remembering that football should be fun.
03:45We know it's a business and it's about winning, it's a results business but it should be fun
03:49and it was fun against Cagliari.
03:51And a fun and particular curiosity from Saturday night because on Mother's Day weekend for
03:57the first time in Italian football AC Milan men's first teams wore their mother's surnames
04:04on their jerseys because since 2022 in Italy it's possible to inherit a mother's surname.
04:12So it was a very funny and interesting curiosity for them and for us.
04:20A beautiful touch, a very nice touch and it's one thing that, well, everyone watching I
04:25presume are big supporters of this club and it's one thing to know about this club that
04:30they're always at the forefront of change and positive movements and this is another
04:35nice touch by the club on a special weekend for mothers around the world and for these
04:42players to put in that performance with their mother's names on the back, I think it makes
04:47it extra special.
04:48Yeah, I think it's a really lovely gesture, really good tribute.
04:52Those players, I'm sure their parents, their mothers as well, made huge sacrifices for
04:56them to become professional football players.
04:58I want to say hello to my mum.
04:59Hi mum, I'll call you soon and we all know how important mothers are.
05:04Absolutely.
05:05So, nice to be remembered in every sense and after that our head coach Stefano Pioli talked
05:10to Milan TV commenting on his last performance.
05:13So let's listen to his post-match reaction.
05:16We've gone through a difficult period with the relegation of the Europa League and the
05:25defeat of the derby.
05:27We've been disappointed and saddened by the fact that we tried to turn things around
05:35immediately but we didn't always succeed.
05:38So the fact that we won tonight and that we've won a game that brings us even closer to
05:43the second place is definitely an important thing.
05:45He's a great professional and a great player.
05:47He's top class.
05:48Cristian is top class.
05:49He's top class for the quality he has, for the choices he makes on the pitch, for the
05:52intensity he has, for the way he prepares.
05:54I don't think it's possible that a player in his first year in Italy can immediately
06:00show all of his potential.
06:03Of course he's done very well, he's been very consistent, he's a strong player but
06:07I think he can do even more in the future.
06:11So after a tricky month AC Milan have found their way back to a three-pointer and maybe
06:17it's the best period to gain an important victory like this one against Cagliari, don't
06:22you think?
06:23Yeah of course and as Mr Pioli said there are some of his players at their top and for
06:28some of them it is their first season and we are looking now into what happens next
06:32season.
06:33These players can go to another level and I think we cannot underestimate the importance
06:37of finishing the season strongly because it can be a long summer, no football for a
06:42couple of months and you want those strong performances to close out the season, to take
06:46confidence going into next season in a Milan shirt.
06:49So I think that again these last two fixtures while Champions League is secured, a top finish
06:55in the league is secured but there is still plenty to play for and Pulisic is one he mentioned
07:00there.
07:01I'm really excited to keep an eye on him as we go into the summer and into next season.
07:04Yes, Stefano Pioli commented also on Christian Pulisic's performance but also on his first
07:09season in Rosso Nero.
07:10We know very well that Serie A is a very tough league also during the first season but our
07:15new number 11 managed it very well.
07:18Yeah, he settled in very quickly which shows that he's a top professional.
07:23As Mr Pioli said, he's got his head down and he's worked hard.
07:28New language, new culture, new city obviously, new teammates but it hasn't appeared to phase
07:34him and he's someone who enjoys his football and expresses himself best on the pitch when
07:39he feels comfortable off it and it's really good that he's enjoying his football again.
07:44Didn't have a great time really in the latter phase at Chelsea but here with Milan he seems
07:49to be really enjoying his life, enjoying his football and that's a positive for the Rosso
07:54Nero.
07:5615 and 9 across all competitions, 15 goals, 9 assists.
07:59You know, there's been a bit of a problem I always have with some of the superstars
08:04in world football of the last 15, 20 years that have performed with exceptional numbers
08:10which makes something like 15 and 9 which is a high level player, that is a world class
08:15player and that must not be disregarded.
08:18This is a player in his first season, in a new city, in a new club, with a new language.
08:22That is a remarkable return by the American who, as Mr Pioli said as well, will get better
08:28because it is difficult to adapt to this league in a first season.
08:31Those numbers are exceptional and that is why this is really the player that I am very,
08:36very keen to see how he settles into season number 2.
08:39This season was his best return in a league season in his career.
08:43We know he's played at a top level but for him to have done that in season 1, bring on
08:47season 2 because this team will be better for him in the squad.
08:51Christian Puljicic also was the MVP on Saturday night against Cagliari but among the Rossoneri
08:56many protagonists and many post-match reactions.
09:00Also for our number 14, Tijani Reinders who is leaving his first season in the Rossoneri.
09:07Let's listen.
09:11This one was important.
09:13The last month was difficult and we needed to win and I think we did a good job today.
09:20Make sure that we are on a better place now.
09:23I hope next season I score more goals and hopefully also more assists.
09:30It's my first season.
09:31I had to adapt first here and next season we have to move on.
09:38In the hope of doing better and being more decisive, this is Reinders' wish for next season
09:45even if he has already become quite a reference on the pitch.
09:48Absolutely.
09:49Top player.
09:50Top, top player.
09:51I love his approach.
09:52I love his attitude.
09:53I love what he's brought to this team, to the midfield.
09:56He's another player.
09:57Again, I think it's the case with all of these players who have come in this first season
10:01at the club.
10:02They are starting to understand what makes this club so special by experiencing, by playing
10:08and the fact that they're also performing and adapting and doing it so quickly, it gives
10:13me a lot of confidence going into next season.
10:15Yeah, really good player.
10:16Yeah, really good player.
10:17As the fans, the international fans say, go, go Power Reinders.
10:20They absolutely love him and he's really impressed with his shooting, with his energy and also
10:26with his personality, which we saw there in that brief interview.
10:29He's a smiley guy who enjoys life and you need people like that in the dressing room
10:33because football can get very, very serious but this is someone who brings value on the
10:37pitch, like that goal demonstrates, but also brings a lot to the training ground and brings
10:42a lot of joy and just a lot of those infectious grins.
10:48And talking about personality, our Rossoneri need to show it once again on Saturday away
10:54to Torino to face Europe's side.
10:56But what about this team, Madron?
10:58I'm looking forward to this match because this Torino team are still playing for UEFA
11:04Europe Conference League spots, so they still have something to play for.
11:08Torino this season have the best defensive record in terms of goals conceded in the league.
11:13So, coming off the back of us scoring five last weekend, this is a strong test against
11:20Juricic's Torino here and I'm excited for this challenge.
11:23When we talk about taking positive steps towards next season, this will be a good one.
11:29We had a strong performance against Torino earlier in the campaign, but this time around
11:34away from home, off the back of a strong win, I think this is going to be a nice test too
11:39as we close out the season.
11:41And Sheridan, we know very well also what happened in August in the first face-to-face
11:47against Torino of this season.
11:57It was a great victory earlier on in the season.
11:59The mission is to replicate that.
12:01They've had a strange season, Torino.
12:03I think it's fair to say.
12:04They haven't scored many goals, but as Adriano indicated, they don't concede too many either.
12:09So, they're always a tough team to play against.
12:11Ivan Juric, their coach, he knows what he's doing.
12:14He knows tactically how to set teams up.
12:17It will be a tough match and the mission again for Milan will be to finish, keep continuing
12:23with these final matches of the season to show their attacking flair and keep the goals going in
12:29and just try and finish on a high.
12:31The next up against Torino will be the penultimate match in Rossoneri's jersey for our number 9,
12:38our Olivier Giroud with our club vest.
12:41So, let's listen to an extract from an official interview.
12:47I'm here to tell you that I want to play my last two games for Milan.
12:55I'm going to continue my career at MLS.
13:00I'm very, very proud of everything I've done for Milan in the last three years.
13:08It's the right time to say that.
13:13I'm sorry, I'm a bit emotional, but my story with Milan ends this year.
13:23However, Milan will always remain in my heart.
13:29A tough one to take, especially for the Rossoneri fans.
13:33Plenty of emotions in this goodbye, Adriano.
13:36Yes, I'm still coming to terms with it because I love Olivier Giroud, what he's done for this club,
13:42what he's done over the course of his career.
13:44His numbers here in the twilight years, the last years of his career,
13:49I don't think anyone expected him to be this good.
13:52I did. I've always been a big supporter of Giroud.
13:55But the quality to still score goals like this, to still be the protagonist that he has been,
14:00to have had the impact that he has had at his age, is phenomenal.
14:05And yes, it's been a few seasons.
14:07It would have been amazing if he was able to spend more seasons here,
14:10but he's left his mark on this club.
14:12You can see in his emotion, the way that he speaks about the club,
14:15how much he's enjoyed his time here.
14:17Obviously, the unforgettable Scudetto success.
14:19I was there at Sassuolo when they won the title and he was a protagonist again on that day.
14:25So this is a player who has stepped up in the key moments to score so many key goals.
14:31And I think every Milan fan will be very sad when the day comes very soon,
14:37that it is the final minute that he plays in a Milan shirt.
14:41But for Olivier Giroud, it's been a pleasure to watch him play.
14:45Merci, we can say to him.
14:46Very good.
14:47And of course, we wish him the best of luck in the MLS in Los Angeles in the future,
14:52because he will be sorely missed.
14:54And this is a player who still has been key to all of the success that this club has had.
14:59And he's been a protagonist among the Rossoneri.
15:01He has. I want to echo the words of Adriano, that he has made a huge impact.
15:06He took a No. 9 shirt that for Milan had been difficult for other players,
15:10other very good players, but he didn't seem bothered by that so-called curse of the No. 9 shirt.
15:15He made it his own, scored some vital goals, scored some vital goals against our neighbours Inter,
15:21one that perhaps cemented his legend.
15:24And the catchphrase, si è girato Giroud, which means Giroud turned,
15:28because the way he turned his defender and scored, that was a really good goal.
15:31And I'm a bit worried for Adriano, to be honest, because I know how much Adriano adores Olivier Giroud.
15:37And I think he might need the summer to get to terms with it.
15:40But also we wish Olivier well in his next project, his next adventure.
15:44But he's been magnifique.
15:47So guys, that's all for Stefano Pioli's side.
15:50Now let's move on with our women's team.
16:00Rossoneri held to a draw in Naples, Sheridan.
16:03A very balanced match, we can say.
16:05Yeah, we can also say a very end-of-season match, in the sense that Milan have done very well.
16:11They've won the Salvation Pool.
16:14They've scored some good goals along the way.
16:16Now I think it's normal that some of the matches are perhaps being played at a slightly lower level,
16:22you could say, a lower speed.
16:25It wasn't a classic match.
16:26It won't be one that will live in the memory for long, but unbeaten.
16:30So going fairly well, turned around the season fairly well, Milan.
16:35And it was just, like I said, another indicator that the team, I think,
16:38have found some stability after a really tough opening part to the season.
16:43And some of the new players are bedding in nicely and showing what they're capable of.
16:47And, you know, there are more positives than negatives.
16:51But I wouldn't say it's one eye on next season.
16:53I'd say it's both eyes.
16:55Comment on this final round of the season for the Rossoneri.
16:59Napoli, of course, had a different part of the table there, as we saw.
17:03They were fighting to stay up, to avoid relegation.
17:06So to play in a match like this, where Scherdinger did say,
17:09has that end of season feel about it, Napoli with everything to play for, it is tough.
17:14It is tough.
17:15But look, to go there, to come away with a result, yes, disappointing.
17:18But I think now both eyes are fairly on next season.
17:21But obviously very late on there to concede that equaliser.
17:24You know what they would have hoped for.
17:26And a very good goal as well.
17:27Credit to Napoli for a really good finish.
17:29You know, I think the Milan players were probably hoping to hold on for a 1-0 win.
17:33But Napoli did have something to fight for.
17:35So, as I said, an end of season game more from the Milan point of view.
17:39Because I think the players just want to get together and regroup and get ready for the next campaign.
17:43But, you know, undefeated again Milan, which is always important.
17:47And now there is only one match between us and the end of the season.
17:52The Rossoneri will host during this weekend Sampdoria at the Vismara Puma House of Football.
18:00Yes, last home match of the season as well.
18:02Try and mirror what the men's first team did with the five goals.
18:05Try and finish the season on a high with a good show, with some goals.
18:10And then, like I say, take the positives from this second part of the season.
18:15Try and work out what functioned.
18:17And then try and use that to build towards the next campaign.
18:21And now let's talk about the Rossoneri under-19s,
18:25who made history by winning 3-1 against Asuolo at the Viola Park
18:31and becoming the champions of Italy, winning the Scudetto under-19s.
18:36A very tough 120 minutes with pure charge and commitment.
18:42But let's relieve the emotions on the pitch with the highlights.
18:46Played over the top towards Karen Appiah.
18:49The defender hasn't dealt with it too well.
18:52Appiah away from one, into the area.
18:55Clever footwork, away from another defender.
18:57And she stabs it into the near corner.
18:59And that is a sensational goal by Karen Appiah to get the scoring started after 16 minutes.
19:10Really wonderful play.
19:12From Milan's number 7, did so well.
19:15And then near post, just a toe poke into the corner,
19:19making it 1-0 to the Junior Rossoneri.
19:22...keeper.
19:24Asuolo desperately looking for an equaliser into the area.
19:28Shot comes in and it's a fine effort.
19:30It's curled into the corner and it's an equaliser by Girotto.
19:35Asuolo back on level terms.
19:38Asuolo back on level terms.
19:41Played into the area.
19:44Clever footwork.
19:45Still going.
19:46Shoots and it's in the corner!
19:49Milan have scored to make it 2-1 in the 114th minute.
19:54Really good individual goal by Petra Mikulika.
20:00And Milan now on the cusp of glory.
20:05Away from two defenders and then really accurately into the far corner.
20:11Asuolo coming forward but fatigued and they give it away.
20:15And now Milan have the attack.
20:17Milan coming forward.
20:18It's a great run and it's into the corner.
20:21And this time it's a goal which means the trophy is coming back to Lombardia.
20:28Sara Stokic with her fully deserved goal makes it 3-1 to the junior Rossoneri.
20:38And what a performance from Milan.
20:43What a performance from Matteo Zargo's team.
20:48There's the final whistle.
20:50Milan's Primavera Femminile are the champions of Italy.
20:56What a fabulous performance.
20:58What a fine achievement by this excellent team.
21:01The party has begun and it's a fully deserved festival for the young Rossoneri.
21:10And very shortly Nadine Sorelli, the captain, will lift the trophy, the plate, into the air.
21:19And there it is.
21:20Milan Primavera Femminile are the champions of Italy.
21:25What a wonderful achievement for this splendid side.
21:32And the celebrations now begin and will go on for a long, long time and deservedly so.
21:40A great and a sweet voice to comment on this final match.
21:45The emotion was so high and it was a really good achievement.
21:48They weren't expected to get to the final, not in a disrespectful way, but Roma were the super favourites.
21:53So the fact that they got to the final was an achievement.
21:56And then they just went the extra step and they brought some silverware back to this famous club.
22:00This club runs on silverware.
22:02So it was a magnificent achievement.
22:04So compliments to these amazing young women.
22:07It never gets old seeing Milan show training level with a piece of silverware and to have this beautiful voice commenting.
22:14That made it all the more special for me.
22:16But wonderful to see.
22:17And of course, let's hope that some of these girls, as they start to move into their senior years,
22:22that they can now start to integrate into the women's first team.
22:26And obviously a lot of potential to come.
22:28So a perfect weekend with a perfect voice.
22:30I enjoyed that thoroughly.
22:32Congratulations to our Rossoneri.
22:34That's all for our women's team.
22:36And now let's move on with our Under-19s.
22:38Primavera beat Frosinone 2-1, gaining big points for this playoff race.
22:51Important points.
22:52We've spoken about the positions in the standings there and how important this result was going to be to get into that top six.
23:00Sheridan, correct?
23:01So important now that this is a tough win against the Frosinone team.
23:06Busy, busy schedule it's been for these young men.
23:09We know that's, of course, the youth league wrapped up.
23:11But that deep run there, playing more fixtures than others.
23:14And look, obviously on paper, it was a fixture that we were expected to win.
23:18But you can see how important those three points are now getting into that position there.
23:22And having a chance to go deeper into this season.
23:26So look, the promising run has continued.
23:30They were made to work for it.
23:32But this is what good teams do.
23:33They find a way and they win.
23:34Yeah, it was actually, the visitors actually took the lead and it was a bit worrisome.
23:40But then this goal from Alessandro Bonomi, such a delicate finish.
23:44Really excellent way that he anticipated the defenders might make an error here.
23:49He runs between two defenders like a ferret, like a speedy rabbit.
23:53And then the finish is so calm.
23:55And another chance to see this toe poke from a narrow angle.
23:59That's top class finishing.
24:01And then in the second half, Filippo Scotti scored.
24:03It'd been a while since he'd found the net, but we were aware of his quality.
24:07But he hadn't struck in the league for some time.
24:09And you can see how much it meant to Filippo Scotti.
24:13Really good, again, opportunistic, just smashed it into the roof of the net.
24:17So a really good victory, despite going behind against the Frosinone,
24:21who were making life very, very difficult.
24:23But a really good win.
24:24Good to get back to winning ways.
24:26Good to show their quality, because this is a fine group.
24:28And I guess for Frosinone, the two goalscorers, both Bonomi and Scotti,
24:32reached their sixth goal of the season in all competitions.
24:36So this is a great result.
24:38Next up will be against Torino, also for our youngest talents.
24:42And this is a very crucial appointment,
24:45because a victory will secure us a qualification for the playoff, but a draw.
24:51It will depend on our future on the match between Genoa and Sassuolo.
24:57So pay attention.
24:59Absolutely.
25:00I think it's important to go for the win.
25:02You're right that other permutations might work for Milan,
25:05but we'll leave those mathematics to the league and to Adriano Del Monte.
25:10But the best thing you can do, like in any football match,
25:13is concentrate on getting the victory.
25:15So there is the boss, Mr. Abate.
25:17He'll prepare the team.
25:18He'll remind them of their qualities.
25:20He will have done his research on Torino as well,
25:22who are a very good team and only two points behind the young Rossoneri.
25:26So it will be all about getting the victory
25:28and not having to worry about what they did against them, etc., etc.
25:33And I'm fairly confident that Mr. Abate's side have got the skill
25:37and the mentality to get a positive result against Torino.
25:41If you're confident, I'm confident, Sheridan.
25:43And they've worked hard to get themselves in a position
25:45where the fate is in their own hands here.
25:47So it is a final, and they're used to playing these sorts of matches,
25:51given what they did in the UEFA Youth League.
25:53The playoffs begin now for Milan.
25:55So we know what they need to do.
25:57Win, go through, and the journey continues.
26:00So that's all for our youngest talents, our under-19s.
26:05But we are going to close today's episode with a very special corner for us
26:10and I'm sure also for you, because after 30 years
26:13from the legendary win in Athens against Barcelona,
26:17our AC Milan media house wants to celebrate
26:20and remember the emotions of the night against Cruyff's side
26:25with Apoteosis, a documentary film reliving the emotions of the night
26:31that our club, the fifth Rostroneva Champions League.
26:34So here, the trailer for you.
26:39I still can't believe I lost to Marseille the year before.
26:46It was a match dominated from every point of view.
26:49You win if you prepare every game.
26:52Every training session was like going to Athens to play.
26:56And I think we were remembered for how we won.
26:59The stupidity I did, I lost my mind.
27:02I knew I was defeated and I wouldn't have played the final.
27:05I said, guys, today I understood that we are very strong
27:08and we will win the Champions League final.
27:10Good evening from the Olympic Stadium in Athens.
27:14Cruyff called me the little boy.
27:16Everyone gave us favourites.
27:18Cruyff made a mistake and paid dearly for that night in Athens.
27:21A final, a battle.
27:23The idea of the hat was perfect.
27:28A dream that became reality.
27:32Everyone understood what could be done.
27:36AC Milan-Barcelona remains in history.
27:44Few can say they made a double in the Champions League final.
27:50It was the perfect final.
27:56When I touched the ball, I saw it coming.
28:14AC Milan-Barcelona
28:17Apoteosis, with the protagonists of that final Champions League match in 1994.
28:24You can already find the full version on our AC Milan app.
28:29And from Saturday, it will be available also on our official YouTube channel.
28:34So, don't miss it.
28:36Enjoy the rest of your history.
28:38A very special quarter, and remember for us.
28:42Absolutely fabulous.
28:43If you aren't aware of the 1994 final, which I know that a lot of our viewers are a lot younger,
28:48check it out, because it was an incredible match.
28:51They were the super favourites, Barcelona.
28:53They were like the Manchester City of this current era.
28:56Nobody expected Milan to have a chance playing against people like Romario
29:01and the team coached by Johan Cruyff, who was very confident before the final.
29:05But Milan blew the Catalan team away, and it was a remarkable performance.
29:10So, you have to check it out.
29:11Worth watching. You two as well.
29:12We will.
29:13You youngsters as well.
29:14We will. I can't wait.
29:15It looks very, very good.
29:17A great job for our AC Milan media house.
