Three local men and a Vietnamese woman were detained following a raid on an Ah Long operation centre in Rawang.

Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) director Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said the suspects, aged between 22 and 34, were detained during the raid on a house used by the syndicate on May 14.

00:14 a robbery was committed at a premises in Rawang, Selangor,

00:23 The three men, a local resident and a Vietnamese citizen were arrested.
00:29 All of them were aged between 22 and 34 years old.
00:34 7 telephone units, 1 book, 1 lock, 1 wallet, 2 ATM cards and cash were confiscated.
00:46 The investigation was carried out to find out the syndicate
00:50 which has been carrying out the activity of loan shark loan shark since February 2024
00:56 and to find out the loan shark among Malaysians.
01:01 Three of the arrested men admitted to being agents looking for customers through social media.
01:08 They also met with the loan shark who were interested in having a face-to-face discussion

01:18 The rate of interest to each loan shark is different
01:22 based on the loan shark's capacity, which is between 10% to 12% per week.

01:31 which involve daily, weekly and monthly payments.
01:36 It is estimated that the value of this syndicate is around IDR 200,000 per month.
01:42 All four locations are under investigation for 3 and 4 days starting 15 May 2024.
