00:00 Hello, Sreety Fee fans and welcome to Shot to Star.com. My name is Jonny Drury. I'm here
00:14 alongside Salop correspondent Oli Westbury as we do our player position reviews from
00:20 Salop's 23/24 campaign. And we're going to start, as we always do, with the goalkeepers.
00:27 Another very, very impressive season for Shrewsbury's number one, Marco Morozzi. And I'll start
00:34 there, obviously, at the moment, talking about his future. But one of the best, a bedrock
00:41 of Shrewsbury Town's all-round not great season, but he was one of the standouts.
00:46 Yeah, I think everyone would agree. I think you'd have to go quite a while to find a Shrewsbury
00:51 Town fan that's perhaps not a fan of Marco Morozzi. Since I've started covering the club,
00:57 he has been probably the first main down on the team sheet. He's been absolutely outstanding
01:01 in fairness to him. Not sure how many clean sheets it was, but the amount of points that
01:07 he won Shrewsbury in the end with really, really important saves, that win away at Port
01:12 Vale. I remember home game here against Oxford, I think Jack Price scored that wonderful volley.
01:17 Moments later, it looked as if Oxford would go on to win 2-1, but Morozzi stuck out a
01:22 bit right-handed, so obviously he's been offered a new contract, even though the club have
01:27 got an option to extend his current deal. I assume it's probably not too big of an assumption
01:35 to make, but he's been offered lower terms because of the financial position that the
01:39 club finds themselves in at the moment. So, yeah, that's the situation that we're in with
01:44 Morozzi. It feels as though if you were him, you would be kind of looking elsewhere. I
01:50 don't think you can blame him for that. Paul Hurst, when we spoke to him last week, actually
01:54 said so. He doesn't expect him to be a Shrewsbury player next season. He's been a very good
02:00 servant to this football club over the last few years, won them many points and, to be
02:05 honest, there's probably a big reason why he saved that volley in the end.
02:08 Yeah, and in terms of his understudy, the Shrewsbury understudy has been for quite a
02:12 long time now. Harry Magoy has got a very, very good reputation around the club, obviously
02:17 off the field. His game time is limited. His time at Salah has come to an end now. How
02:21 do you sort of reflect on that? Were you maybe surprised that he went or was it sort of maybe
02:26 a natural progression that he moved on, given the fact that he's not played a lot of football?
02:29 Yeah, I think perhaps probably a natural progression, to be fair. I imagine he's been
02:34 here quite a while and he's been, obviously Marco's understudy for the last three seasons
02:38 that Marco's been here and probably not played as much football as he would have liked. He's
02:43 probably not played as much football probably even in the cup competitions that he would
02:46 have liked. I saw at the start of the year that obviously Matt Taylor chose to use Marco
02:51 Morosi in the cup competitions as well. So football's probably been a little bit few
02:57 and far between for Magoy and so I can understand why it's probably one of those positions.
03:01 I mean, I don't know this, but I imagine it's probably one of those positions where
03:04 he's probably slightly happy with the situation. He can now go and move on to a new challenge
03:11 and try and play a little bit more first team football. There's no doubt about Harry Magoy,
03:16 he's been a brilliant servant to Shrewsbury off the field, the way he's conducted himself,
03:22 the value that he has in the community, the personality that he is. You see him doing
03:25 those Christmas videos and things when he's singing those songs. So he's quite the character
03:30 and it'll be one of those that we've surely, surely missed.
03:33 I'm sure by all those involved in the effort.
