Bass in the Grass, starting from humble beginnings 21 years ago, has evolved into the Top End's premier annual music festival. It made its vibrant return yesterday, with thousands of festival-goers partying into the night at Darwin's world-famous Mindil Beach. Attendees enjoyed performances from international stars as well as homegrown heroes, celebrating the festival's milestone as a highlight of the region's cultural calendar.

01:18 but that hasn't dampened anyone's spirits. Police say the crowd was generally well behaved,
01:25 with only one arrest made. Top marks for the Top End's biggest festival.
