00:00 Operation Emmerock just demonstrates how seriously New South Wales Police Force takes domestic violence
00:06 and in particular making sure that those high-risk offenders are complying with their conditions.
00:16 We know that domestic violence is a vile crime and the New South Wales Police Force want to make sure
00:26 that if there are high-risk offenders out there doing the wrong thing
00:31 then we will be knocking on their door and arresting them.
00:35 Police FBO! Police FBO! Police FBO!

01:12 Operation Emmerock 6 was run across New South Wales between last Wednesday and Saturday
01:18 in both metropolitan and regional areas. A total of 3,735 ADVO compliance checks were conducted
01:28 across the state which resulted in 554 offenders arrested and charged with a total of 1,070 charges.
01:36 200 of those offenders arrested had outstanding warrants for them.
01:41 We engaged with 550 dangerous offenders and in addition to the ADVO compliance checks we also
01:49 conducted nearly 1,300 bail compliance checks across the state. So this has been an outstanding
01:56 operation. As you know domestic violence has been the centre of headlines across the state
02:02 for the last few weeks but our focus and attention on domestic violence has been going on for years
02:08 and years and it will continue to go on. Whilst Emmerock is one of the tools that we use to target
02:14 outstanding offenders, every day of the week our police officers are executing search warrants,
02:20 arrest warrants and arresting offenders in the home for domestic violence. Something has to give.
02:26 These offenders have got to get the message that abuse of females is not acceptable. Domestic
02:33 violence is not acceptable and we will not stop in our operation. Last year police had 150,000
02:45 phone calls of domestic violence related incidents. 150,000 I'll say that again. New South Wales has
02:53 the domestic violence registry out at Parramatta. It is the only one of its kind in this country.
03:01 It is world class and it is bringing together the intelligence around domestic violence
03:07 perpetrators that we see in this state. It profiles those high risk offenders and that
03:14 therefore enables the New South Wales Police to have that intelligence for operations like
03:20 Emmerock so that police can go out to run these operations and make sure that people are adhering
03:27 to their bail conditions or indeed their AVO conditions.
