First post-pandemic Great Wall Marathon
Saturday (May 18), saw Beijing host the first Great Wall Marathon since the pandemic.
818 participants took on the challenge in 28 degrees Celsius weather. Runners from 58 countries participated, with the event proving most popular with Americans making up 88 of the contestants.
To get a medal, runners complete a 35km course before taking on the wall. 366 people completed the full challenge, 352 completed the half marathon, and 100 took part in the ‘Fun Run’.
