00:00 We'll start with the motorhome thing.
00:02 Yeah, sure.
00:04 Yeah, Fyra, what you were saying,
00:06 you've been living in a motorhome for a couple of years
00:08 and doing time touring,
00:10 and you're here in Armadale, and last night
00:12 you were at the Gold Coast.
00:14 Yeah, exactly. So we've lived in a motorhome the last
00:16 two and a half years, and I've been
00:18 a full-time musician, so we've spent
00:20 most of our time on the road
00:22 and a lot of time travelling
00:24 and just going to shows
00:26 and gigs, so we see a lot
00:28 of the country that way, and it's
00:30 a lot of fun. So what are your thoughts, like,
00:32 living on the road,
00:34 you're playing a lot of places, you're playing metro
00:36 places, you're playing regional places.
00:38 What are your thoughts, given
00:40 the current state of live music
00:42 in Australia, lots of festivals cancelling,
00:44 closing down, such as Canberra
00:46 and so forth, what are your thoughts
00:48 on regional areas
00:50 like Armadale, putting on festivals
00:52 and events like this, considering
00:54 those circumstances? Yeah,
00:56 I think it's really great that the regional areas
00:58 put on live music.
01:00 I think the regional areas have always had a great
01:02 appreciation for live music.
01:04 I think, you know, a lot of them
01:06 are people of the land and
01:08 hard-working people and things like that,
01:10 and after they've done their week's work, a lot of them
01:12 they do love that earthy connection
01:14 to the soul that music
01:16 brings, and so I think in the regional
01:18 areas, you know, live
01:20 music is still
01:22 healthy and well overall,
01:24 but I do think the economic
01:26 situation
01:28 is putting a lot of pressure on things
01:30 obviously and making it harder,
01:32 and I also think, you know, from the
01:34 pandemic, it changed habits of people
01:36 a little bit as well, like people tend
01:38 to stay home a bit more now
01:40 because they got used to that during the pandemic,
01:42 so that's changed things a little bit, but I
01:44 reckon we can get them back.
01:46 I think that's it.
01:48 We're after you today, you're on the road again
01:50 obviously, but heading off, which
01:52 direction are you heading? Yeah, so this week
01:54 when we're not on the road, we're based down
01:56 the mid-north coast, so we've got
01:58 sort of a little lodging there at my parents
02:00 where we park up, which is cool,
02:02 and so I've got
02:04 a few days off, and then next
02:06 weekend I'm playing at the Bellingen
02:08 Blues Festival, and
02:10 the Lawrence Lantern Music Festival
02:12 which is out at Maclean.
02:14 Cool, cool. So you've got a couple of days in Armidale
02:16 to see some of the
02:18 sights on offer here in town and
02:20 out and about in the area. Exactly, yeah,
02:22 we're not going to rush off, we're going to soak
02:24 up the beauty around here and
02:26 you know, enjoy the culture.
02:28 Cool, you came at a good time of year, it's
02:30 one of the prettiest times of year in town.
02:32 Yeah, well look at this, here's the sun.
02:34 There it is. There it is. We thought
02:36 it was coming.
