00:00We got an update from the Congress. We know that the relationship between the Senate and the House of Representatives is almost over due to the Charter change.
00:11Now, there's an adjustment in the House because of what happened in the Senate.
00:15Is there an adjustment in the House due to what happened recently? We saw a very interesting turn of events in the Senate.
00:25The past few days have been very hot because a lot has happened in the Senate.
00:30But in terms of the lower house or the House of Representatives, our work in terms of the Charter change is done.
00:38And of course, we welcome the decision and we respect the decision of the Senate in their change of leadership.
00:46And hopefully, we look forward to a more unifying partnership in the new leadership.
00:54But again, they are the ones in the Senate making the decision.
00:58The Houses and our rules are separate. And congratulations to the new Senate President.
01:05What was your reaction to the change of leadership?
01:10Well, we welcome this. Again, we respect because they are the ones voting.
01:16They are the ones who are together and talking.
01:18And you can see in the numbers that in their Senate, they had a decision to really have the change of leadership.
01:27And we respect that.
01:29So, we will continue our work especially that today is the last session day of Congress.
01:34So, I hope that the outcome will be good.
01:40This change of leadership and the partnership will be better.
01:46In your two Houses.
01:48But Senator Subiri said that the Charter change of the new Senate President, Chief Escudero, will not be discussed.
02:00How determined is the House in the progress of the Charter change, Congresswoman Migs?
02:06Like I said, we are done with the lower house.
02:08So, it's really up to the Senators. We'll have to decide.
02:13I think that the former Senate President is one vote.
02:16If that's what he thinks, we will respect that. We should respect that.
02:21But again, at the end of the day, the whole Senate will decide and discuss and vote on what will happen in the Charter change.
02:32Hopefully, this will be good.
02:35I think that the result will be positive because we are looking at giving more jobs and opening up the economy.
02:43Of course, it's a difficult time now.
02:45It's expensive to buy.
02:47And this will help the whole country of the Philippines.
02:52Speaking of job generation and the economy,
02:55will we remain with only economic provision that will change the current law and will not change the political provision?
03:04Ever since the beginning of Manila, it has always been only economic provisions.
03:09When we entered the lower house, it was only economic provisions.
03:16Now, in the Senate, it is only economic provisions that are being discussed.
03:19There will be no political provisions that will change.
03:22There will be no economic provisions purely for the generation of jobs,
03:26generation of our progress of our economy.
03:31Alright, thank you very much for your updates, Atty. Migs.
