00:00Anybody who knows anything about this case and the response knows that it was an inexcusable failure at the end of the day.
00:08There's nothing we can do about it now.
00:11But instead of suing the city and jeopardizing the finances of anybody,
00:18the families have accepted that simply the insurance doesn't affect anybody.
00:27This is simply highlighting that we've settled with the city.
00:31There will be lawsuits forthcoming most immediately against the state of Texas,
00:39which has done nothing at all but burden this town before the shooting by not giving them the resources they need,
00:49prevented these families from getting the information they need,
00:53and then blaming this city.
00:57This day is really a day to allow these families to heal and tell the community of Uvalde that they love you,
01:12they love living here, and they want to stay here.
01:15It's been an unbearable two years.
01:19We all know who take our children's lives, but there was an obvious systemic failure out there on May 24th.
01:26The whole world saw that.
01:29No amount of money is worth the lives of our children.
01:34Justice and accountability has always been my main concern.
01:40We've been let down so many times.
01:43The time has come to do the right thing.
