William Butler Yeats - All Souls' Night (1921), Music - LeeDuong - Feast of Ghosts (2023)

Sorry for the lateness of this video, I had hoped to have it up three days ago on November 2, All Souls' Night, or at least by yesterday the 4th. It is one of my favorite poems by Yeats and quite relevant to ther season. Not to be confused with Halloween (Samhain), All Souls' Night does share some things in common, including remembrance of the dead and of ghosts. And of course, the original custom of begging for candy by children began here, on All Souls' Night, and not on Halloween (Samhain). All Souls' Day is also known as Day Of The Dead in Mexico and other Latin American countries. I think the narrative is easy enough to follow with the images provided, and the music is quite recent, by LeeDuong (2023). I was originally intending to use the song "All Souls' Night" but chose this one, "Feast Of Ghosts" instead, as the dead do at least partake of the aroma of muscatel wine in this poem. Three ghostly subjects are called upon and each with a life of dolor to share. But I should say no more lest we all laugh and weep upon the hour of the clock.
