XGIMI unveils the Horizon Max at CES 2024 world’s first long-throw projector with IMAX certification for the ultimate home movie nights at home. With its built in gimbal, this provides one of the easiest to install and position projectors that effortlessly adapts and even moves between your different walls. Aside from its increased 3,100 lumens brightness and 2000:1 contrast ratio, its new ISA 5.0 (Intelligent Screen Adaptation).
XGIMI also debuted the Aladdin, a 3-in-1 ceiling light that works as both a projector and speaker. This could be a great choice for smaller spaces or kids rooms, especially with its built-in games and automated lighting modes.

00:02 They're taking it literally to a whole new level
00:04 with ISA 5.0.
00:06 So continuing on with our CES 2024 coverage,
00:10 we're here with Xchemia to learn more
00:12 about their brand new projectors coming out this year,
00:14 some of the cool technologies
00:15 and why you'd want one for your setup.
00:17 (upbeat music)
00:20 At its core, we're seeing Dual Light 2.0,
00:23 which takes a triple laser light source, the RGB,
00:26 through a phosphor filter.
00:28 This is designed to combine the strengths
00:29 of LED light sources, which have rich color,
00:32 but often aren't very bright,
00:34 as well as laser light sources, which are bright,
00:36 but generally struggle with color reproduction.
00:39 There's a lot of science that goes into this,
00:40 but essentially Xchemia has developed a full color LED lamp
00:44 that matches the wavelength band of the laser
00:47 so that it can deliver the benefits of both
00:49 without canceling each other out.
00:51 It's this increased brightness
00:54 and better color reproduction
00:55 that has given the Horizon Max its IMAX
00:58 enhanced certification.
00:59 (upbeat music)
01:02 All right, so these aren't the most comfortable chairs,
01:06 but they do light up, so I can kind of forgive it, I guess.
01:09 We've seen ISA previously,
01:12 but they're taking it up literally to a whole new level
01:14 with ISA 5.0.
01:16 One of the coolest things is that we have
01:17 a built-in gimbal here.
01:18 So we have controls built in,
01:20 just using our remote controller here.
01:22 You can just quickly move this.
01:24 And then if you switch back to the screen,
01:26 you can just see how quickly I'm able to adjust the placement.
01:29 - Well, I think we should go check out
01:31 the ISA 5.0 demonstration,
01:33 just so you can see the gimbal in person.
01:34 - Sure.
01:35 - It's definitely some fun tech up in here.
01:41 I'm excited to show you the gimbal in action.
01:43 - I see three buttons.
01:44 - Three buttons.
01:45 - Which one do I press?
01:46 - All right, so watch that gimbal.
01:50 It's gonna automatically find the projection spot
01:52 that we customized and programmed it to find.
01:55 (upbeat music)
01:57 One thing I'm gonna show you is just,
01:59 you know, the Horizon Max up close.
02:01 The gimbal in action, obviously,
02:03 can rotate 360 degrees around this way,
02:05 and then kind of can rotate all the way up
02:07 if you wanna have a slumber party with friends
02:08 and you wanna be laying down on the ground
02:10 and watch your perfect show on the ceiling,
02:12 you can do that.
02:13 And then really, you can mount it to a ceiling as well.
02:15 So up here we have, you know,
02:17 that one kind of flipped upside down,
02:19 mounted from the ceiling,
02:19 which shows a different bit of a different angle,
02:21 different use case for consumers.
02:23 (upbeat music)
02:24 Now, moving on from the Horizon Max,
02:26 we're going to check out another upcoming release
02:29 called the Aladdin.
02:30 This is a short throw, 1080p, 60 Hertz projector.
02:34 Certainly not as impressive as the Horizon Max,
02:36 but it's three-in-one design allows it to be more hidden
02:39 and fit in tighter spaces more easily.
02:41 This is a ceiling light, a smart projector, and a speaker,
02:44 and it doesn't take up much more space
02:46 than a traditional light fixture.
02:50 So I see the projector facing this way,
02:54 but how are we getting an image over here?
02:56 - It looks like a ceiling light to me.
02:57 - I was gonna say that was a ceiling light,
02:59 but now I'm seeing something illuminating
03:00 out of the front there.
03:01 - Oh yeah.
03:02 - Can we see it turned on?
03:05 - Absolutely.
03:06 I'm gonna turn it on here.
03:08 Pretty bright.
03:09 - Yeah.
03:10 - You can adjust the brightness on the projector
03:11 so you can dim it a little bit.
03:12 I'm gonna show you the warm.
03:14 So we have cool, and now we're gonna go to warm.
03:16 It's bringing just a little bit of brightness into the room.
03:18 - That's pretty cool.
03:19 - It's optical, which is cool.
03:20 No pun intended.
03:21 - Yeah.
03:22 The other really cool thing about this
03:26 is because the light is projecting
03:28 from above and downwards,
03:30 if children wanted to interact with this and be like,
03:32 "Oh, how tall am I compared to like the emperor penguin?"
03:34 They don't have to worry about the light
03:36 shining in their eyes and obstacle avoidance and all of that
03:39 because it's a little bit more safe up there.
03:41 I'm also noticing that we have some Nintendo Switch stuff.
03:45 - We do.
03:46 So XJimmy actually created Suica Game,
03:49 which is an exciting game for Nintendo Switch.
03:51 So it's very addicting.
03:53 - How many hours have you played so far?
03:55 - I can't disclose that information.
03:57 - Ooh.
03:59 - And is this going on like a timer
04:00 or do I just have to be strategic about it?
04:02 - You just gotta be strategic about it.
04:04 - Oh!
04:05 - I haven't seen that one before.
04:07 All right, this is super addicting,
04:09 but I gotta get out of here.
04:10 We can't wait to see these in 2024.
04:12 So stay tuned for our full reviews.
04:13 And until the next one, we'll catch you later.
