00:00The typhoon Aghon continues to move away from the Philippine coast,
00:18which is located in different parts of Luzon and Visayas.
00:21The typhoon landed several times this weekend.
00:24The NDRRMC is verifying the weather that there are five deaths in the typhoon.
00:29But according to GMA Integrated News,
00:31not less than three people were killed, including one child.
00:35Here's the latest forecast on the typhoon and its impact.
00:39Stay tuned.
00:42Let's take a look at the impact of the typhoon Aghon in Quezon,
00:45where not less than three people were killed.
00:48This includes the child who was hit by a flood,
00:51and the 14-year-old student who was killed by a falling tree.
00:55From Real Quezon, I'm Ian Cruz.
01:00Ian?
01:01Pia Igan, up to this moment,
01:04the cargo vessels were able to sail from here to the coast of Real.
01:11Some of them stayed here for four nights.
01:19The typhoon was strong in this area of Macuban, Quezon.
01:23It passed through the seawall and entered the houses by water.
01:28Look at what happened in the town of Macuban.
01:31The typhoon really hit hard.
01:37One of the boats was almost washed ashore.
01:42Some of the boats were wrecked and sank.
01:45The water level in the sea almost reached the roof.
01:51The strong typhoon Aghon also hit the town of Pagbilaw,
01:55and almost destroyed the kitchen of a farm.
02:02It seems that this gate was also destroyed by the strong wind.
02:09In Lucena City, where the typhoon Aghon landfalled for the eighth time,
02:14the water almost reached the second floor of the houses.
02:20The residents had a hard time passing through.
02:25In the middle of the flood, the police helped to rescue some of the children.
02:34They were safely brought to the evacuation center.
02:39The 14-year-old student, who was sick, did not give up.
02:42His house collapsed while he was sleeping.
02:47According to the authorities, the tree hit the roof of the house.
02:52A 50-year-old man in the town of Chaong was also hit by the tree.
02:58The man was able to help the tree fall from his house.
03:04On Saturday night, in the town of Padre Burgos,
03:07a boat was washed ashore from their house.
03:11The next day, the boat was washed ashore again.
03:15In the town of Real Quezon, Straded,
03:18200 passengers were stranded even though they were already on the boat.
03:22The rowers and cargo vessels were not able to leave
03:25because their destination, Polilio Island, is still connected to signal number 1.
03:31We talked to one of the operations managers of the rowers and cargo vessels here.
03:37Maricel Lunar said that they will wait for the authorities to give the order.
03:42It also depends on the Coast Guard and the LGU.
03:47If we can leave, we will leave.
03:50Some of the passengers were stranded even on Friday or Saturday.
03:54It's really hard because it's expensive.
03:59It's hard because there are children there.
04:01That's why we need to look for a place to stay.
04:03The province of Quezon is one of the most affected by the first typhoon that hit the country this year.
04:10The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office continues to monitor the effects of the typhoon.
04:17Some of the boats were washed ashore after the flood.
04:21The news team was able to pass by the fisherman, Julian Nito,
04:25who was fixing a raft to save his catfish that was in the middle of the boat.
04:31I was able to save my catfish.
04:34Some of the boats were still washed ashore in San Juan, Batangas.
04:37Mang Jaime is planting four hectares of rice.
04:41He's just draining the water from the rice to save the rice plants.
04:47I hope the water will be able to irrigate the rice plants.
04:52If the rice plants won't be irrigated, our plants will be damaged.
04:57It's a waste to buy rice.
04:58Yesterday, some of the boats were washed ashore after the flood that left thick puddles.
05:05Since there was no entry today, teachers and students were busy cleaning.
05:11Some residents of San Juan, Laguna, were also cleaning their homes.
05:18They were forced to strip their clothes and destroy their appliances.
05:23Based on the data of MDR-REMO and DSWD, almost 700 families were affected.
05:31Until a while ago, some streets of Santa Cruz were still flooded.
05:36Earlier this morning, visibility was almost zero on the Marilaki Highway in Tanay, Rizal.
05:42In Brangay, Cuyamba, a tree fell on the highway due to the soil softening.
05:47It was flooded by heavy rain.
05:49A tricycle and two motorcycles collided with a fallen tree due to the fog and darkness of the area.
05:56Left arm, sir.
06:01The barangay members immediately cut the tree so that it won't be an accident.
06:10PIA-IGAN is hoping that the passengers who are here until tomorrow morning
06:15will know when they will be able to unload their Roro Vessel towards Pulilo Island,
06:22especially since the island is under the Signal No. 1.
06:26Live from Rial, Quezon, I am Ian Cruz, your eyewitness.
06:32The typhoon Agjon has landed several times over the weekend.
06:35It feels like an earthquake in different parts of the country.
06:40Last Friday, it landed in Homonhon Island, Eastern Samar.
06:45After more than an hour, it landed in the town of Giporlos.
06:50It landed twice in Cadbalogan.
06:53It also landed twice in the province of Masbate,
06:57once in Marinduque,
07:00and twice in Quezon Province.
07:02All of the provinces were affected by the dryness of the El Niño River.
07:06In addition, Cadbalogan was flooded during the State of Calamity.
07:11But even if it needs rain, it won't be affected by the flood.
07:18In some places, it rained for almost a month and a half.
07:25Darling Kai is an eyewitness.
07:30The center of the typhoon Agjon is in a safe place in the 5PM Bulletin of Hope.
07:35It is expected that there will be heavy rains and strong winds in some parts of the country.
07:39But it won't be strong compared to the past few days.
07:43For the next two days, it will remain a typhoon that is between 140 and 155 kilometers per hour.
07:50So it's still strong.
07:52We sometimes have strong winds, especially in coastal and mountainous or upland areas in the next few hours.
07:59But as the typhoon Agjon moves away, it may decrease.
08:03And possibly by tomorrow, we won't have tropical cyclone wind signals.
08:07Because of the few days of rain, the water level in the major dams in Luzon increased.
08:12The Angat Dam, which supplies water to more than 70% of Metro Manila, increased by almost one meter.
08:19This increase in the water level in Angat happened just now, within 41 days.
08:24The water level of those in the mountains is slowly going down to the reservoir of Angat Dam.
08:32But even if the water level in Angat Dam increased,
08:35the rainfall of the typhoon Agjon is still not enough to reach the normal high water level.
08:42More rain will be needed to reach the normal high water level of the dams in the country.
08:48According to Pagasa, the typhoon Agjon caused a lot of rain in some places in the Philippines,
08:53such as Quezon Province and Samar, because that's where the center of the typhoon remained.
08:58In Tayabas, Quezon, 226.5 mm of rain fell between May 25 and May 26.
09:06That's equivalent to almost a month and a half compared to what they normally receive every May.
09:11But this has nothing to do with the experience of El Nino.
09:14Actually, the surrounding areas of Quezon really had a lot of rain,
09:18simply because that's where our typhoon stayed for a while.
09:23El Nino didn't influence anything regarding that.
09:26In spite of the typhoon, 27 places experienced a danger level heat index.
09:31It was an extreme danger during the Eastern Samar that reached 54 degrees Celsius.
09:36Yesterday, it was 55 degrees Celsius according to Pagasa.
09:40Tomorrow, it will reach 52 degrees Celsius.
09:42So far, during these times, the moisture content is high,
09:48so the humidity is also high.
09:50That's what pushes our heat indexes to rise.
09:53For GMA Integrated News, I am Darlene Cai, your witness.
09:59We already know the latest in Manila North Port.
10:02Not many passengers were able to hide their dismay
10:05because they were stranded in Pantalan last weekend.
10:08And one of them will not make it to his son's graduation.
10:12Darlene Cai will be back live.
10:15Darlene?
10:16Darlene?
10:19The trip to Manila North Port Passenger Terminal continues today,
10:22but there are still more than 1,000 passengers stranded here.
10:26The people we talked to were dismayed
10:28because they were not informed about the cancellation of their trip.
10:37The weather is getting better today,
10:38so ships can travel from Manila North Port again.
10:42Many of the more than 1,500 passengers stranded here have already traveled.
10:47But more than 900 will be leaving tomorrow
10:50to go to Tagbilaran, Cebu, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro, and Butuan.
10:55It is said that there are 120 passengers going to Osamis and Bacolod
11:00who are here in the waiting area outside because the trip is still on Wednesday.
11:05Mary Jane is very angry with what happened to them.
11:08They were here last Saturday because their original schedule was on Sunday.
11:12But because of the typhoon, she will be leaving on Wednesday.
11:16I'm really angry because we don't have money.
11:19We don't have food.
11:21We don't have anything to do.
11:23It's a good thing that I have money for half less.
11:25I will just fly there.
11:26She will not make it to her son's graduation tomorrow.
11:29They have nothing to do if they cannot sleep here in the waiting area
11:33because it will be expensive if they have to return to the mainland.
11:37It is hoped that there will be an early notice that the trip will be canceled
11:41so that they will not have to go here.
11:43There is no call for this and that.
11:45When we arrived here, they said that there will be a boat and this and that.
11:50Cagayan.
11:51Why didn't we get a priority?
11:53There is also no notice from Marielle that the trip to Osamis will not continue.
11:58Her senior citizen mother and children will sleep here for two days
12:02because it will be far and expensive if they have to return to Bulacan.
12:06It's a bad thing.
12:07It's really a bad thing.
12:09Especially earlier, we were caught there.
12:12Because?
12:13Because we have a lot of cargo.
12:16It's better than going home.
12:18It's a bad thing.
12:20The Philippine Ports Authority is now reminding shipping companies
12:24to be quick in giving this kind of information to passengers.
12:28But as Tugo said earlier,
12:30they are already warning passengers through text and their official social media pages and websites.
12:37The PPA first said that the delays in the trips are expected
12:41because the earlier cancellations need to be continued.
12:44According to the PPA,
12:46more than 7,000 passengers are stranded in various provinces across the country
12:50due to cancellations in the trips caused by Hurricane Agon.
12:55PIA is asking for food for the stranded passengers here.
12:59And tomorrow, it is expected that more passengers will be able to travel.
