00:00 Very, very recent, I requested, not requested, it was a polite term, I instructed, for a
00:10 strategic plan for Malaysia's semiconductor industry.
00:14 Today, thanks to my colleagues, particularly Miti, six weeks later, I am pleased to share
00:23 with you the salient features of Malaysia's national semiconductor strategy.
00:30 Firstly, on investments, we'll quote at least 500 billion ringgit of investments in Phase
00:38 1, with domestic direct investment focusing on IC design, advanced packaging and manufacturing
00:47 equipment, and FDI focusing on waterfaps and manufacturing equipment.
00:56 By Phase 2, we want to establish at least 10 Malaysian companies in design and advanced
01:02 packaging, with revenues between 1 to 4.7 billion ringgit, or 210 to 1 billion dollars,
01:12 and at least 100 semiconductor-related companies with revenues close to 1 billion ringgit,
01:20 210 billion dollars, a million dollars, creating higher wages for Malaysian workers.
01:27 Now, R&D Hub developed Malaysia as a global R&D Hub for semiconductors, featuring world-class
01:37 universities, corporate R&D, and centres of excellence, blending the very best of Malaysian
01:43 and international talent.
01:45 Training, train and upskill 60,000 high-skilled Malaysian engineers.
01:52 Fiscal support, allocate at least 25 billion ringgit, 5.3 billion dollars, in fiscal support
02:00 to operationalise the NSS with targeted incentives, details of which will be announced by Miti
02:06 soon.
