Spain has pledged to provide 1 billion euros' worth of military equipment to Ukraine this year, as part of a bilateral agreement signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez in Madrid on Monday.

The agreement encompasses the provision of modern military equipment for ground, aerial, naval, and other purposes, with a focus on air defence support.

Prime Minister Sanchez reaffirmed Spain's commitment to Ukraine, stating that Spain was already providing the missiles and working to find out “how else, with other alternative systems,” it could help the Ukrainian air defence.
