00:09 Being in the production was the most exciting highlight of my entire life
00:14 because acting is what I've wanted to do since early childhood
00:20 and it's the most important work that I've done in my life.
00:23 Austin is a neurodivergent character and I'm also neurodivergent
00:28 because I was diagnosed with Asperger's at age five or seven.
00:33 I know the term isn't used anymore but it's what I was diagnosed.
00:36 It's very important that any neurodivergent character should be played by actors
00:41 that actually are neurodiverse themselves because it's more authentic that way.
00:48 Being filmed with Ben Miller, Sally Phillips and Gia Carides and Roy Billing,
00:54 it was such an honour to work with them.
00:56 But I also did feel slightly out of place among them because I'm a newcomer
01:01 whereas they've been doing this kind of work for decades.
01:04 Well, technically, prior to filming Austin, I only went to Canberra at least twice
01:10 but they were mostly for school trips.
01:12 But after spending six weeks in Canberra filming Austin,
01:17 it made me realise that Canberra is a really great place,
01:21 even great to live but also to work.
01:24 And there are a lot of places here in Canberra that I really love
01:29 like Lake Burley Griffin, the Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve,
01:33 a cafe known as Maple and Clover,
01:36 and there's also the Canberra Zoo as well.
01:45 Because I'm the lead actor, I'm dressed in my most formal attire as you can see.
01:52 And I'm actually excited for the audience to see Austin for the first time
01:58 but I'm also nervous what their perception might be
02:01 because I would like to know what they think of the show itself
02:06 and also me as an actor.
02:08 It's because if the audience can tell that I'm a great actor,
02:13 then the evidence speaks for itself.
02:18 I'm fully aware that people keep asking me if I've found love yet
02:24 due to Love on the Spectrum.
02:26 The answer is no, not so far.
02:29 It's because I've been busy shooting and promoting Austin
02:34 but I'm still open to finding love because that's still on the agenda for me.
02:39 There are a few more projects in the pipeline at the moment
02:42 but they're kind of under wraps so I can't really talk about any of them too much.
02:47 And in case you ask about a second season of Austin,
02:50 all I can say is I don't want to jinx it but I really hope that we do a second season.
02:57 And if one has commenced, I'm going to definitely be on board for a second season
03:04 and any other season that follows, if any.
