00:00 Daisy, hi! I'm Jodie, lovely to meet you.
00:02 How you doing?
00:03 I'm wearing this dress. I'm in awe, it's absolutely incredible.
00:06 Thank you.
00:07 Honestly, you look amazing.
00:08 Thank you.
00:08 I am perplexed at this because I believe that you are like me. You're not an amazing swimmer.
00:15 No.
00:16 Beforehand, you were scared of the open water. I'm terrified. How has this happened, Daisy?
00:21 I know. It was one of those things I thought, what have I done? There were a few moments
00:25 I thought, what have I done? Light up my CV. And then it's too late. I think what I've
00:30 realised with doing other films too, with things I'm scared of, like Heights, which
00:35 I just did, is the want to tell the film overrides the fear. And knowing that I have an amazing
00:42 safety net and knowing I have an amazing coach in Siobhan Marie O'Connor who is going to
00:45 help me conquer some of that. And being part of a conversation of how best we were going
00:50 to do that and having my hair and makeup and costume team who were there to make sure I
00:57 was warm in between times. There were so many people making sure I was as comfortable as
01:00 possible that I could just squish the rest of it, put it to one side until I had done
01:04 the thing. And then after we were finished filming, let that panic come out.
01:10 Yeah. I mean, but filming in the Black Sea, there's the jellyfish scene. I mean, it was
01:14 a lot, Daisy.
01:16 It was a lot.
01:17 How did you overcome the fear?
01:19 Well, I suppose I didn't really. I did my acting. Trudy loved swimming, so that was
01:29 what overtook me. I was scared of something, but I'm playing the person that loved it.
01:35 So letting that love wash over me. But also, it must have been terrifying at points and
01:40 the things that she had to go through, even that one swim, let alone the previous one
01:45 where she says she was poisoned, and I'm sure she was poisoned. There was so much for her
01:49 to overcome each time, each step of the way, before the swim, during the swim. So using
01:56 my determination to try and get a piece of her determination.
01:59 It's honestly incredible what you've achieved.
02:01 Thank you.
02:02 Like, honestly, I'm amazed.
02:02 Thank you.
02:03 I believe you actually had lunch in the pool one day. How did that happen?
02:07 We had one day of tank work to do the underwater stuff, and honestly, it was just easier to
02:12 not get out. When you get in and out, obviously, it's used as a bathroom, but otherwise, it's
02:16 just you get cold and each time you go out, it's actually that much more uncomfortable
02:21 to do that, so I was really trying to limit how much water I was drinking and how often
02:25 I had to leave. It was just easier to have my lunch on a lovely little tray. It was almost
02:29 like a swim up bar, but at work.
02:32 Well, that's the thing. I've had drinks in the water, but never lunch, but I might try
02:35 that now that you've inspired me.
02:37 Please.
02:37 Now, I believe you pretty much got offered your next part on live television the other
02:41 day with David Goldberg.
02:42 Thank you. Thank you for mentioning it. Yep.
02:44 I know you really want to be in a musical, don't you?
02:46 Look, have me and Whoopi texted? Yes. Did she reiterate the offer? Yes. Can I believe
02:53 it? No.
02:54 Would you do it?
02:55 I mean, are you mad? Of course.
02:57 How much do you want to be in a musical? Because I do feel like it's-
03:00 I'm shameless. I talked about it on Graham Norton. I've talked about it in interviews.
03:06 I'm not shy about it. It hasn't happened yet, but then Whoopi.
03:10 We're making this happen. Even if it's not Whoopi, I hope that does happen, but we've
03:14 made this happen. It's an injustice, frankly.
03:16 Look, even if it doesn't happen, everything that happened meeting her was so overwhelming
03:21 and wonderful, and she was so kind and gracious in a way that didn't surprise me, but I just
03:28 thought, 'This is Whoopi Goldberg.' It's still so flummoxing to me, so even just meeting
03:34 her.
03:35 Incredible. She's amazing. She told me I had lipstick on my teeth once, and I was like,
03:38 'That's a real one. That's a real one.'
03:40 That's a real- I bet she'd tell you if you had food in your teeth.
03:42 Exactly.
03:42 Yeah.
03:43 Now, this man beside you, I believe you've been sharing this with him as well because
03:47 you asked for a part in the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.
03:49 Obviously. Obviously.
03:50 Female-led. I mean, you've got to be in it. Now, you've proved that you can do it.
03:53 I mean, I'm like, 'Guys, look what we've done. I'm ready for the next one.'
03:58 Yeah.
03:59 Amazing. Well, listen, it's so lovely to meet you.
04:01 Thank you so much.
04:01 Look, you get some water.
04:02 Thank you.
04:02 And the Heathiers.
04:03 Oh, look, there's some.
04:03 There you go.
04:04 Thank you. In an unmarked glass.
04:06 Yeah.
04:07 Look at you.
04:08 Thank you.
04:09 Thank you ever so much.
