About Jamie Miller
(Spotify Profile)
Born and raised in Wales, Jamie Miller cites early musical inspiration from gospel, R&B, and soul classics fostered by parents (including the catalogues of Donny Hathaway and Michael Jackson) before discovering and honing his voice to modern talents such as Bruno Mars, Sam Smith & others. Initially timid in nature, Miller shied away publicly from his natural talent until the age of 18 when he mustered up the courage to relocate to London and appear for the first time on UK broadcast television in 2017. In the years that followed, he eventually migrated to Los Angeles to craft his own original music while simultaneously amassing an explosive online following thanks to ongoing displays of his jaw-dropping vocal talent – in addition to capturing the attention of today’s top musicians and his own personal idols including Kelly Clarkson, P!nk, Sam Smith, Jennifer Hudson, Khloe Kardashian & more.
His most recent single “Here’s Your Perfect” has proved a global smash, deemed a “breakout hit” by Rolling Stone, marking Miller’s debut on the Billboard’s Global ex-US chart & amassing over 150 million global streams and counting. Meanwhile his 2020 debut single “City That Never Sleeps” garnered buzz from the likes of PEOPLE Magazine, The Huffington Post (calling the track a “dreamy pop debut”), Billboard (praising Miller’s “incredible vocal range and control”) & more.

00:00 It was one of the first things that I had put down on a piece of paper.
00:03 And I was just like, even though someone hurt me, at one point in time, they were my world.
00:09 I was just blown away.
00:24 I was like, I never thought my song would reach anywhere in the world.
00:29 [BIRDS CHIRPING]
00:32 Perfect is being yourself.
00:39 Perfect, to me, is living your life not afraid of anybody's judgments,
00:45 living your life believing in your dreams,
00:49 like living your life that you don't have to change for anybody,
00:52 but be the best version of you.
00:53 [MUSIC - THE BEST VERSION OF YOU, "I LOVE YOU"]
00:54 I love you.
00:55 Don't you know that I'm mad at you?
00:58 My heart is calling to, I'm in love with your body.
01:02 I think it was a big stepping stone.
01:05 I feel like it was my first real experience on TV and in front of a camera.
01:09 And I feel like it was an amazing stepping stone to get to where I want to be.
01:13 So I think, obviously, without that, I would be probably a different person.
01:16 But yeah, it changed my life in a lot of ways.
01:20 And my manager found me from The Voice.
01:22 And I was like, wow, this is really something that I can do as a living.
01:26 I didn't want to be in a normal job.
01:28 I always wanted to perform.
01:29 I always wanted to be an entertainer.
01:31 And I was just like, life's too short to not live it.
01:34 So I just wanted to be like, if I go down failing,
01:38 then at least I can say that I tried.
01:39 [MUSIC PLAYING]
01:43 I didn't have anybody to talk to about it.
01:45 So I was in a relationship.
01:46 I just got out of a relationship.
01:48 I have no friends.
01:50 This is so sad.
01:52 I didn't know who to talk to about it.
01:54 So I just wrote it in my journal.
01:55 And then I wrote some concepts.
01:57 And I was just like, I don't want to--
01:59 I was like, I know I'm not perfect.
02:00 But I just want to be perfect for somebody.
02:04 I didn't want to believe that the relationship was over.
02:06 But I feel like me writing the song was a way that I could let go.
02:10 I was like, I don't want to let go of this person.
02:12 But I need to.
02:14 And I feel like if I wanted to grow in life and pursue what I want to pursue,
02:18 then holding on to someone that was holding me back and hurt me way too much,
02:22 I was just like, I'm good without this.
02:24 [MUSIC - "I REMEMBERED A DAY"]
02:26 I remember the day, even wrote down the day that I fell for you.
02:32 I feel like that was my favorite line because it
02:34 was one of the first things I had put down on a piece of paper.
02:37 And I was just like, even though someone hurt me, at one point in time,
02:42 they were my world.
02:43 So no matter any bad situations that I've gone through,
02:48 I still can't forget about them, even if I wanted to.
02:51 In the music video, you can see that I got cheated on.
02:54 And I wanted to just be honest with my fans.
02:56 I was like, yo, I'm just feeling sad.
02:58 I'm just feeling so unhappy.
03:02 And I was so sad.
03:03 And I just wanted to create this.
03:05 I just wanted to be real.
03:06 And then at the end of the video was a nod to me coming out as bisexual,
03:11 which was a huge thing for me, too.
03:13 And it wasn't a big thing that I wanted to make a big thing.
03:16 But I just wanted to--
03:17 if there was any guys out there or girls out there
03:19 that are struggling with their sexuality,
03:21 I wanted to be able to be like, yo, look,
03:23 it's normal to love who you want to love.
03:24 [MUSIC - LILI RAY, "I'M THE FIRST TO SAY THAT I'M NOT PERFECT"]
03:28 For it to go number one in Indonesia and Philippines
03:31 and all these incredible places that I've never even visited,
03:35 I was like, I don't know what to do.
03:37 I think I was just blown away and shocked that my words resonated
03:42 with people in the way that they did.
03:43 And I just want to be able to be a voice of my generation,
03:47 to be able to inspire and love on people through my songs
03:52 and make people feel something.
03:53 If anybody feels anything when they listen to my music,
03:57 I want them to feel like, whoa, this guy's
04:00 doing something special.
04:02 So get up every day, work out.
04:05 It gets better.
04:06 Be the best version of yourself and fall in love with yourself
04:09 because it gets better.
