00:14 as the state-level Kamatan Harvest Festival officially kicked off on Thursday.
00:19 Yang di-Pertuan Negeri Tunjuharmahirudin and First Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Siri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan,
00:27 as well as other ministers and dignitaries, were among thousands to attend the launch of the festival.
00:33 The month-long celebration was launched in Ranau on May 1 and culminates on May 30 and 31.
00:42 Guests are able to watch cultural dances, feast on traditional food, play traditional games,
00:48 and participate in many other activities during these two days.
00:53 The highlight of the event, eagerly awaited every year, is the announcement of Unduk Ngadau, or Harvest Queen.
01:01 This year, 51 Unduk Ngadau contestants from districts, towns, and branches of the KDCA,
01:09 including six from Peninsular Malaysia and one each from Labuan and Sarawak,
01:15 will compete in the final on Friday.
