00:00 It's Conor Gallagher, someone who in January was linked with a move away from Chelsea,
00:11 largely down to PSR and FFP rules and all the regulations that go with that. How strong
00:18 is, do you understand that interest to beat, Matt, and do you think he'd be a good fit
00:22 for Emery's villa if it was to come off?
00:24 I think he's clearly a very good player. There is definite, solid interest from Villa in
00:32 Conor Gallagher, Tottenham as well. And as you mentioned there, it's the same issue for
00:39 Chelsea. They've got PSR problems. Villa have got a PSR issue as well, but so have a few
00:47 clubs and they've got to work out a way to solve this. Now, for Chelsea, Conor Gallagher,
00:53 a product of their academy, any sale of academy players is pure profit. You've not signed
01:00 them for anything. So it is seen as potentially a way of Chelsea alleviating their immediate
01:07 concerns for profit and sustainability. As people may or may not know, some clubs that
01:16 have got until basically June 30th, potentially, depending on the way they work the accounts
01:21 in July 31st, to bring in some money to avoid going over the PSR boundaries. Chelsea are
01:31 widely reported to be one of those clubs. So there is a feeling that Gallagher is available
01:39 and that he could be got for a not too ridiculous price because he only has 12 months left on
01:45 his contract. That's the other part of this story where there has been an impasse in contract
01:52 talks and Chelsea have just got so many players that they're in a scenario now where they
02:01 might have to let go one of their kind of prized products really. I watched him at Villa
02:10 Park last month, played for Chelsea and he was excellent. I do think he's a player that
02:17 fits it, would fit in to Villa. We don't know what's going to happen with certain Villa
02:24 players this summer. They've got a PSR issue themselves, there's been speculation over
02:29 Jacob Ramsey, perhaps more interestingly Douglas Luiz, who while he's not an academy player,
02:36 Villa have paid off his fee from Manchester City. Any sale on him, you're going to make
02:43 a big profit. So they are in the market for midfielders. Ross Barkley is probably coming
02:51 in, he's not a free transfer for Barkley but for a modest fee. I think Gallagher would
02:58 be again, and there's a truth to it, bearing in mind Villa have got so many games to play
03:04 next season with the expanded Champions League and the strain that we saw was put on the
03:10 squad this year. Midfield additions are pretty much top of the agenda.
