00:00 Hi, I'm Lindsay Lohan, and today we're going behind the looks.
00:03 [MUSIC]
00:11 I do like to be heavily involved in the wardrobe choices for my characters,
00:15 because I think fashion is so expressive, and when you're playing a character,
00:19 it allows people to get to know the person through what they're wearing immediately.
00:23 My character's style in Falling for Christmas was different,
00:27 she starts out as very high fashion and a bit over the top,
00:32 and then something happens to her and she doesn't have any of her clothing,
00:37 doesn't really think about what she's wearing, she just needs stuff to wear.
00:41 [LAUGH]
00:42 So the inspiration was really fun in the beginning, and then the arc of her,
00:47 she became less into fashion, I'll say.
00:50 I think the funniest story of pieces and looks that I wore for my character in
00:57 Falling for Christmas is my pink ski suit, which was the most fun to wear, and
01:01 also the most convenient, cuz it was pretty cold.
01:03 [LAUGH]
01:04 But that was the most extravagant kind of look that we had, and
01:08 it was really great just to see it come to life on camera.
01:10 [LAUGH]
01:12 In Mean Girls, I think the looks for the other girls were really fun all the time,
01:17 and it was kind of the juicy sweatsuit era of all this, and
01:20 the mini skirts, and shorter is more.
01:22 And so when I was, Katie, before she joined the clique of the Mean Girls,
01:27 I really wanted to be able to dress like the girls,
01:29 cuz they were getting to wear such cute things, and I was so drab, and
01:32 kind of grunge in a way.
01:34 So that was where my head was at in terms of clothing choices.
01:38 But I think my favorite look in Mean Girls was,
01:43 I think it was my Halloween costume, actually.
01:45 Just because it was so fun putting that all together, and
01:48 it was just such a funny look.
01:49 [LAUGH]
01:50 I don't know if I prefer Katie's style when she's influenced by the plastics or
01:53 not. I really liked Katie just as herself,
01:56 because she was really relatable and humble.
01:59 [LAUGH]
02:00 And then when she gets influenced by plastics, the looks were fun, but
02:05 it changed her in a way, and I wanted to bring her back down a little bit.
02:09 So I think I prefer her look in the end the most.
02:12 The cultural impact of on Wednesdays We Wear Pink, wow.
02:16 It's become such a sort of phenomenon that you can't escape it really.
02:22 But I think it's fantastic.
02:23 It's so exciting to have that as kind of a model that we use now.
02:27 And I don't know if I do every Wednesday, but
02:30 whenever I hear it, I think about it.
02:31 [LAUGH]
02:32 For Herbie Fully Loaded, I was involved in the looks.
02:35 Also, we were dealing with extreme heat conditions in Fontana at the racetrack.
02:40 So that was a big part of the fire suit that I had to wear when I was racing in
02:43 the car.
02:44 So yeah, I was really involved.
02:46 I think the funniest memory clothing wise that I had from Herbie Fully Loaded was,
02:52 I think, the racetrack suit.
02:53 Just because it was so thick and such a different thing for me to wear in a film.
02:58 It was the first time that I'd had any sort of action role in a movie.
03:03 So the fire suit was definitely, I think,
03:05 that was the most fun for me and funny.
03:09 Ashley Albright's look, and just my luck, was really Sex and the City forward.
03:13 Sarah Jessica Parker.
03:15 And we had a lot of fun dressing Ashley.
03:19 Just even the white suit and the Valenciaga dress that she wears at
03:22 the Masquerade Ball.
03:23 It was just a, and then the tear off part of the dress.
03:25 We just were really able to play with all of the costuming.
03:28 Working alongside Chris Pine was great.
03:30 He's such a joy to work with, and he was such a sweetheart.
03:32 And we just had a blast doing the movie,
03:34 cuz we shot in New Orleans and also in New York.
03:36 So we all kind of became a family traveling together.
03:39 And I haven't really followed his style evolution, so
03:42 maybe I'll have to check that out.
03:44 [LAUGH] But I'm sure he's doing good.
03:45 [LAUGH] My character style in Georgia Rule was, she was going to Georgia, so
03:50 we're gonna keep it kind of light and fresh and long dresses.
03:53 And a little bit, I wouldn't say 50s, but we tried to take her back a little bit.
03:58 And then the white button down collar shirt,
04:00 we wanted to just kind of have a take on pretty woman in a way.
04:04 I don't know if that makes sense to a lot of people, but
04:06 it was just the collar popped up and that whole kind of vibe that we went with.
04:10 I don't know if there were any really funny stories behind the costuming for this.
04:13 I was a little hesitant to wear one of the outfits when I was in the pajama look,
04:18 because I hadn't really played a role where I had to be a little bit provocative,
04:21 and that scene was that for me.
04:24 So I was a little nervous to bear less.
04:27 [LAUGH] I really hope everyone enjoys Falling for Christmas.
04:31 I hope that we see a lot of pink ski suits.
04:34 [LAUGH] And yeah, it's a great film.
04:37 We had a great time making it, and I couldn't be happier.
04:40 Thank you so much.
04:41 It's been really fun revisiting my characters.
04:44 Let me know what you think in the comments below.
