00:00 President Bongbong Marcos answered on what actions the mutual defense treaty of the Philippines and America can be implemented.
00:10 If Chinese Coast Guard water cannons killed a Filipino sailor, would that cross a red line?
00:16 And then can you also give us a sense of what are the actions that would trigger a request from Manila to Washington to invoke the US-Philippines mutual defense treaty?
00:25 Not only servicemen, but even Filipino citizens killed by a willful act.
00:30 That is, I think, very, very close to what we define as an act of war.
00:36 And our treaty partners, I believe, also hold that same standard.
00:42 That's what the President said in his speech at the Defense Summit in Singapore.
00:47 The President said before that the MDT can be invoked if a Filipino soldier was killed in an attack by China.
00:55 But the President said that as long as there is an ordinary Filipino, the MDT can be used.
01:02 President Marcos insisted that there is no way back when it comes to the sovereignty of the Philippines.
01:08 The Philippines has a legal basis to defend its territory.
01:13 Before his keynote address, President Marcos helped the Prime Minister and President of Singapore.
01:20 He discussed the implementation of the agreement between the Philippines and Singapore on the field of economy and nature.
01:27 He also discussed the protection of the 200,000 OFWs in Singapore.
01:33 Prime Minister Lawrence Wong mentioned that Singaporean businessmen may be interested in New Clark City.
01:41 The President also met with former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, the so-called founding father of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew.
