00:00A bizarre sighting in an Oklahoma reservoir got a lot of attention online recently.
00:07In a Facebook post that went viral, the state's Department of Wildlife Conservation shared
00:12a whole bunch of photos of this mysterious blob dangling from the branches of underwater
00:18trees.
00:19The jelly-like orb sparked a slew of colorful reactions from social media users, calling
00:24the odd-looking spheres, quote, Godzilla eggs, while another one asked,
00:29What in the alien invasion is this?
00:32The department quickly assured the masses there was nothing to worry about, that the
00:36strange orbs are native aquatic microorganisms called breazoans.
00:40They are filter feeders, and while they might not be pretty to look at, they pose no danger
00:44to people or wildlife.
00:46The department added the organisms help clean the water and serve as prey for mussels, snails,
00:51and even small fish.
